Tempura Lunch special. There was a lump bigger than a golf ball. Turns out it was tempura broccoli. It would have been good if it didn't have dirt. Come on, how difficult would it have been if you put three separate bite pieces in its place and washed it first. The gyoza was sitting in a sauce that made it wilty and cold. Why?, you brought out sauce for the tempura but you could not put out a separate sauce dish for the gyoza? The tempura shrimp looked like no tempura I've ever seen. It was coated in something (not the flaky coating the veggies had). Very little shrimp & shrimp flavor. I've been here many times in the past 5-10 years and I won't be back. They both were mixed up not all what we ordered the rice was noodles and the chicken was terrible soggy nasty tasting! If you are ever in this neck of the woods on vacation or on business or visiting somebody this is the place you want to go especially if you're from a place like California like me because of the fact that the sashimi is darn near a quarter of the fish well close I mean by far the thickest sushimi you've ever seen in your life that I can almost guarantee. The main lady who works and may own the place is very nice and friendly, but there is an employee who almost always waits on me who is SO rude like it's actually crazy. I proceeded to enter this extravagant building and the smell of food left me famished, all I really wanted was a Mc Chicken but I guess sushi was the choice today, as I let my eyes skim the menu I got caught on the good ol usual California roll. Minutes went by and all I could think of is making time fly by so I could devour this meal I've requested. We had my husbands 40th birthday here in an excellent private room and the staff was exceptional. They went above and beyond to serve us and help our party be the best it could be. They helped put up some decorations and did the majority of the clean up. Food is good and very reasonably priced. Food was fresh, tasty, and came out fast. Finally a new restaurant in Buffalo that isn't a Mexican restaurant (although I like them all). We had dinner at Sakura and enjoyed it. My kids had the chicken and salmon off the kids meal and there was a ton of food for them. Included soup or salad, main meat selection, fried rice or noodles. It was a hit with them. My wife and I had a couple of the specialty rolls. They have a pretty big selection and it was just as good as any suburban sushi restaurant. One was the Mango Dragon Roll, it was decent and the mango was a different flavor for sure. The other roll was the Crazy Dragon roll, it was great with seared salmon and bit of crunch to it. Service was great and they helped accommodate our gluten-free requests as one of our kids has Celiac. Overall, it's sushi out in Buffalo, can't be mad about that! read more

I can not believe I never knew this was here! It's off the main drag and it is in a strip mall.. But looks are very deceiving! This place is amazing and we will be back! We got the love boat sushi and shad him for two and some entrees and the kids were super adventurous with the chicken nuggets and fries!! Lol Ours was sooo good! Very fresh tasting!! Really great family-friendly sushi place in Buffalo! Walked into a quiet, mostly empty restaurant on a snowy Sunday. Seated immediately and got drink orders. Kids loved the Shirley Temples. Sapporo beer is always a good choice. We got edamame and gyoza for apps. Gyoza are some of the best I have ever had! Crispy and chewy with soft, savory centers of ground pork and seasoning! Entrees for 2 of the kids were chicken nuggets and fries which were nothing special but good to see on their menu. A more adventurous kid got a Children's Menu hibachi chicken dish. Think grilled, seasoned chicken, broccoli, onions and zucchini with white or fried rice. She loved it but couldn't finish the huge portion! I got a shrimp and steak hibachi entree with fried rice that I shared with my son. Juicy, perfectly cooked steak and shrimp with the right amount of seasoning. Really great flavor and a good size serving. Both hibachi entrees came with an incredible mushroom/onion broth soup. Again, super flavorful and savory with sliced scallions and mushrooms in a clear broth. Last entree was a sushi platter my girlfriend got. My only nit was the "spicy" in the spicy roll was not very. I know many of the ethnic restaurants in this part of the company intentionally dumb the spiciness down to fit the Minnesota definition of spicy (pepper on a potato), but amping it up just a bit would be appreciated. They love avocado and mango at this place and I love that they love them. Try the mango dragon roll - holy crap, man. So good. Excellent, attentive, friendly service. That's huge to me. We visited Sakura Shushi & Steak house for my wife's birthday with some friends. My wife loves sushi and we really were excited to see how it compared to some of the Twin Cities sushi restaurants...... Appetizers: We tried the edamame and buffalo wings to start and we were not disappointed. The edamame was very good and the wings had a spicy Asian sauce that had a little kick to it. Sushi: We tried a total of five rolls at our table, Buffalo, Spicy Thai, Godzilla, Monster, and Volcano rolls. Overall we were very happy with all five rolls of sushi. I personally am not a huge sushi fan, however the Tempura fried rolls were my favorite (Volcano being the best). Hibachi: The Hibachi grill entrees were HUGE serving sizes. First you get a choice of soup (which was very good), then you can choose from a multitude of meat options. At our table we had chicken, steak, shrimp and scallops. I loved my scallops and the other meat choices were very good. I did order my steak medium rare and received it medium to medium well. The steak still tasted good, however I will not be ordering it the next time I go. Service was great and it was a great way to spend a birthday dinner with my wife and close friends.Overall, I thought the Sushi was very comparable to most offerings in the Twin cities. But is awesome in Japan, still have yet to find a substitute in MN. Got the Gyazo app and usually it is pan fried. But these seemed to be basket fried. They where still tasty. It's basically a fried dumpling. For sushi I got the Monster roll which was very good. What I did really love was their tempura ice cream. That's a must try. My only real complaint Would be that there was no music in dinning room, I know doesn't seek like a big deal but it's kind of awarkward to eat in silence.
