Delicious! I created my own bowl with ahi tuna and spicy salmon. Good portions and price were reasonable.

I'd never claim to be a expert on Hawaiian food, but I've been lucky enough to have a friend (he's…read moreHawaiian) who's a chef on the big island, who has brought me to his favorite spots, and spoil me with his knowledge of Hawaiian food. And living in Seattle for 20 years ... has exposed me to some good Hawaiian as well. Walking into Ono on a whim was by chance . I wanted something different but never did I expect to be wowed with this food in Minnesota... so many miles removed. I had the Loco Moco with hamburger steak. Came heaped with a beautiful serving of rice, macaroni salad, gravy and two eggs sunny side up (perfectly cooked) every single thing on the plate was as amazing as the next. The macaroni was salad was a point of conversation between us, but so was everything. My co-diner had the Chicken Katsu and garlic shrimp served with 2 scoops of rice, macaroni salad, and a katsu sauce. Once again... a slam dunk. Every single thing! We shared an order of spam to keep it OG, and by far the best spam I had ever touched to my lips. Who would have thunk it could have been leveled up so simply. This meal by far was one of the most amazing and pleasant surprises I could have ever expected, and can't wait to go back for more. Service style is very causal...order at the counter, get a number and they bring the food to you. Uncomplicated, and direct. Very friendly service and very dog friendly on the patio. Water dishes and dog beds are strewn about for your furry, four-legged friends. Mahalo!

As evidenced by the name, Tiki Tim's focuses mainly on island inspired cuisine (save for the fried pickles). Their menu is fairly modest in size, comprised of Tiki (shrimp and crab) cakes, fish tacos, a Hawaiian influenced pulled pork sandwich and a smattering of side dishes. While the choices are limited, they've all been quite good. The fish tacos are the highlight for me, with generous pieces of crispy and not-too-greasy fish, but you really can't wrong with anything (bring a knife and fork for the pork sandwich). The converted big blue Chevy is easy to spot on the streets, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Given that we're about as far from the coasts as possible and a long haul from Hawaii, it's nice to see someone aspiring to bring the tropical mindset to the streets of the Twin Cities.

The space is bright and sunny and I don't think there's a bad spot in the house. Service has always been attentive and most importantly, I've literally never had anything that wasn't delicious. This time, we ordered the coconut shrimp to start. They were so crisp and juicy and large. This is something that we get many places because it's my husband's favorite and we both agreed this was our favorite coconut shrimp so far in the Twin Cities. I got the Asian slaw salad with Aji tuna. I've had this before, it is so good especially the shoyu dressing. It sounds boring to come here and get a salad, but it's just delicious especially with the crunchy macadamia nuts. My husband got the loco Moco with short rib and loved it. We got fries on the side. The kabayaki aioli was so unexpected and good! The fries were hot, salty and crisp. Solid fries on their own. We also asked to try the ghost pepper aioli, which was fab and not too hot.

This location is inside united noodle (an Asian grocery store). There is plenty of free parking. The service here was fast and friendly. This place actually has Pepsi zero! I feel like you normally get regular and diet! Being inside this grocery store is its own vibe. There are picnic tables, chill music and a large picture of Oahu. Some of the picnic tables are breaking and wood tables would probably hold up better! The food: if you don't get the Kahlúa pork, you are doing yourself a disservice. It comes with a guava barbecue sauce, which I put on my rice. The meat is perfect on its own! I also got the garlic shrimp, which was absolutely perfection! I don't like macaroni salad, but my boyfriend said his was very good and spot on to what he had in Hawaii. My boyfriend said his chicken was very good. If you haven't tried this place, you are absolutely missing out!!

I ordered a Big Crunchy poke bowl and the first couple of bites were great -- but under tall the sauce and crunch there were only like 5 cubes of ahi tuna... so I felt disappointed like I paid $14 for a bowl of rice and edamame beans. I would have complained while I was there and asked for it to be remedied, but the employee was on their phone and wearing headphones and I didn't have time. As others have noted, the tables feel sticky, but looked clean -- the tackiness almost seemed like it was the table top material vs unclean, but still it threw me off at first, too. I'm hoping my tiny portion of Ahi Tuna was a fluke and not the norm -- if it is the norm, I cannot recommend.
