    Lobster Hollandaise

My sister and I were visiting from NY and this place came highly recommended. We had a short wait and were seated upstairs. I had the lobster Hollondaise and my sister built an omelette with goat cheese, spinach, a mushroom medley and tempeh. Laura was our server and went above and beyond! She was so sweet, very attentive and even helped with directions after our meal. I would definitely check this restaurant out if you haven't already!

Really good brunch food in a cute environment. Very homey decor and food. Expect a wait but it was well worth it. The lobster scramble was excellent, as was the blueberry pancake I tried.

Cute multi level place. Our wait was about 20 minutes which wasn't bad at all. Ordered a Maine blueberry pancake with Maine maple syrup and one scrambled egg. The service was very slow and it took quite awhile for the food to come out. I wouldn't consider the egg scrambled as it was paper thin and flat, and tasteless. The pancake was huge, good value for $6. The butter was frozen. Not sure I would come back.

Immediate 10/10!! The food was phenomenal served hot and fresh. Every bite of food packed a delicious punch that had my licking my fingers! I ordered the bayside burger with in egg inside and was devastated when my I finished my burger because I couldn't wait to get another bite! The service was absolutely phenomenal and super speedy. The wait time was about 15 minutes when we arrived for brunch which was fantastic. The restaurant itself was super cute although we didn't see the upstairs the downstairs looked very nice and I could only imagine how much nicer the upstairs would be.

Heading to Bayside American Cafe for brunch is literally a treat. In a quirky part of the old port, you'll find a gem of a restaurant. The staff are friendly and the bottom level allows an open view into the kitchen - which I always appreciate. The food is wholesome and delicious, and the menu is plentiful! My only complaints are the size of the restaurant (it's very small), typically creates a situation in which you experience a long wait.

Unfortunately I ate first, not the phone ‍ This is a make your own omelette, their 3 potato home fries, and the honey wheat toast

Bayside is always the best experience for me. I went for Sunday brunch with my cousin and we only had to wait about 25-30 mins. 100% worth the wait. They have limited seating between the downstairs and upstairs. They do have a few tables outside in the warmer months. Once seated we were given water. We ordered drinks first. They took a little while but not too long. The server helped with any questions on the menu. We ordered and got the food in a good amount of time. The food was fantastic. I got an omelette with their honey wheat toast. Everything was so delicious. I love the three potato homefries/hash. The prices are totally worth it. Their entrance and bathrooms are not handicap accessible. There are some parking spaces outside but no lot. It does get super busy on the weekends. I will 100% keep coming back.

The classic everything was cooked just the way I like it. The eggs not over scrambled the home fries nice and tender and the sausage cooked well done. The waffles had sweetness to them already didn't really need syrup. The bacon I should've requested to be crunchy. Our waitress Jade was very friendly and helpful with helping us get familiarized with the menu. She made sure we had everything we needed and she is much appreciated for her service. This is has a loud ambiance because it is definitely full to capacity for breakfast and now I see why. Everything the offer is well worth coming here to get. I strongly recommend this place for breakfast if ever in the area.

Louisiana eggs Benedict and seasoned breakfast potatoes

I cannot say enough good things about this place! The menu has such a variety of options from classic breakfast/brunch to tasty original plates! I love eggs Benedict and they had several options to choose from/ Louisiana style eggs Benedict omg chefs kiss and don't get me started on the breakfast potatoes- YUM! Our waitress was SO kind and welcomed us in as it was our first visit. I'd suggest getting in the waitlist as early as possible because there's always a line BUT it's completely worth the wait and they're quick with the turn around!

A great place for breakfast or brunch. Nice setup in a old house. We had to wait about 45 mins but once seated we were served quickly. The food is great we had the lobster scramble, avocado toast, and benedicts. All very tasty and with large portions. For a sweet ending to our meal we had the blueberry coffee cake pancake which we shared. Very satisfied.

Stopped here for a quick bite during our stop in Portland - was pretty good. Their coffee was like top tier diner coffee- nothing fancy but tasted pretty good. The homemade Tuscan bread was THICC and dense. Wasn't ready for that haha but their eggs and home potatoes were good. The best part of the meal? The cinnamon bun pancake omg, was so delicious sweet but not overpowering. And it's a big pancake so don't feel like you need to get more than one. They do have non dairy milk. The restaurant itself is super cute and cozy. And our waitress was so chill and nice.

Don't think about stopping by here JUST GO! From the food to the service its a wonderful experience. I stopped in before heading to the airport and usually I never have to high of expectations when it comes to breakfast food. I mean its just eggs and pancakes right? Well Bayside American Cafe blew my socks off! Everything was absolutely delicious and the bartenders were great and personable, i'm not sure her name but she wore a seagull on her shoulder and she provided amazing service! I tried the crabcake benedict and the bacon + cheddar + scallion pancake with bourbon maple syrup and both were divine! That may be one of the best benedicts i've ever had and those potatoes were perfectly seasoned! Everything tasted fresh and cooked with care. I will 10000% be stopping by the next time I visit Portland! The restaurant is nice and cozy inside!

We came here at 10:30 on a Saturday. I will say there was a long wait, but it was worth it. They will put your name down and text you when they have your table ready. There is also a waitlist link so you can see how many people are ahead of you (which I love). Our server was very bubbly and attentive. I ordered the lobster Benedict and every bite was flavorful. It was buttery goodness. I highly recommend!

When we finally came during the off season, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity since wait times were shorter. The wait on a Saturday afternoon was about 15-20 minutes. I will say - I had high hopes for Hot Suppa. Between my fiance and I, we ordered the waffle, side of corned beef hash, and the fried green tomatoes eggs benny. The corned beef hash here is excellent - that I do have to acknowledge. I was a bit underwhelmed by the fried green tomatoes though. The tomatoes were just okay, but the excessive hollandaise sauce really just made the whole dish waaay too heavy. It was also just messy. Service was slow & our waitress tended to disappear for long periods of time. Coffee & water refills both took a long time. Parking here is difficult but not impossible. Most spots are only for an hour or so.

The feeling inside feels like a celebration of culture, like a Mexican restaurant got a glow-up. Big comfy booths invite you to sit and stay a while. The menu is small but thoughtful and the drinks, from the horchata and cold brew to the cocktails, are nicely curated and feature delightfully unique and seasonal ingredients. My mango coffee cocktail was nothing I would've ordered on my own but I took a recommendation from the bartender and was blown away by how well the flavors played together. We decided to come here for coffee and snacks before heading to the park for the morning with our toddler. We arrived around 9:30am and must've gotten lucky bc we walked right up to the bar and were helped by a super friendly gal and ordered coffees, a few pastries from their display case (I got a huge chocolate chip cookie cup stuffed with Nutella for later) and my husband ordered the Pastrami on Rye sandwich to go. We sat and waited about 15 minutes and watched the crowd grow as about 20 people came into order to go drinks and snacks and a few chose to sit at the patio tables out front for dine in. By the time we left they were warning folks that the kitchen was taking about 45 minutes for food bc of so many orders at once and take out. It's charming inside, with a large bar area with about 15 bar seats, and a few small tables. Cute decor on the walls all Duck-themed and friendly staff who were really bustling. Of note: the Pastrami sandwich my husband ordered was AMAZING. One of the top ones he's had and he orders them everywhere. The pastrami was hot and fresh and the rye was perfectly toasted.
