They worked hand in hand with me to make sure everything was perfect. Sal and his team are one of the most professional groups I have had work on my house so far. It was nice to have one price from one contractor since a lot of the competition does not provide their own scaffolding. Sal owns his own scaffold and it is included with this work. Some of my other bidders were not providing their own scaffold and would cause complications for me two deal with two separate contractors for one job. With Sal I am dealing with one guy and this gave us the freedom to extend the scope as needed. They not only painted but they restored the building, my walls were taking on water like the titanic and Sal's team did some dry rot replacement, caulking, primer and two layers of paint. Now nothing is getting through my walls and we can stay dry 365 days a year. Also their work was so impressive my neighbor hired them to work on parts of his house as well. Sal and his team are the best of the best. They deserve 10/5 stars. I have had an excessive number of poor experiences with contractors and handymen since I bought my home in the city. I've had a contractor drag out my kitchen remodel by 9 months (I had to install my cabinet shelves on my own as well as my switch plates). I've had bids up to $250 to replace a light switch. I've even had a contractor who spoke directly to my boyfriend, ignoring me, even though he knew I was the one who would be hiring him and paying for the work. When I started my search for a handyman, I made several appointments and Sal was the only one who showed up (and on time). I had a good feeling from the moment I met him. His bid was very detailed, and very fair. I took the leap and hired him without interviewing anyone else and am so glad that I did. During the whole process, Sal was communicative, accommodating, flexible, and understanding. His workers, Juan and Ubaldino, were also some of the nicest, hardest working, prompt people I've ever met. To boot, they were also incredibly communicative and easy to work with. When I hired another handyman to install a few light switches to save time before I put my home on the market, the handyman installed the light switches upside down, put the fixtures in the wrong rooms, and short circuited my neighbor's power by splicing wires together that shouldn't have been. He created a complete nightmare for me and never called me back. As you might expect, Sal saved the day and I sorely regretted having hired an additional handyman to try to save time. I wish I had found Sal sooner. In addition to everything else, he put a rush on all of the work I asked him to do because I was cutting it too close to my listing date (my fault). His workers stayed late and arrived early. My home looks gorgeous now and I think the new owner will be just as thrilled as I am. I had a great experience with Sal and his team. I'm a landlord and needed to get an apartment turned over to rent. I had Sal paint the apartment, redo the hardwood floors, and refinish all of the cabinetry in the kitchen and bathroom. The work was excellent. The painting was well done, and the floors are beautiful. When I was showing the apartment, every applicant commented on how beautiful the floors were. When I was getting bids for the work, Sal showed up on time and his prices were competitive - not the cheapest for any part of the job, but I preferred someone who could do all of the work rather than having to manage separate vendors. And, Sal has experience in all of the trades. The crew was fine (showed up on time, didn't leave a mess, weren't noisier than they had to be, etc.) and I was happy with the work at the end. I contracted Sal for 2 jobs, 1st one was exterior house painting and dryrot repair 6-7 years ago, and the 2nd was a rotten exterior trim repair due to water damage (and surprise dampwood termites ) a few weeks ago. The first time with Sal was my only experience with a contractor, and it was a great smooth experience, as I assumed was the standard. In between the two Sal jobs I also did a remodel with another contractor, who was the epitome of a contractor horror story (unresponsive, flaky, mansplainy and dismissive, and took no accountability for delays or mistakes etc), it was a nightmare. This is Part 1 of a 3 Part Project: I was beginning to feel like a Debbie-downer with my feedback so I am thrilled to be giving a 5 star review to Sal and his team (Ubaldino and Juan) on the amazing job that they are doing on my little cottage-by-the sea. I went out and got 6 bids to paint my 1050 square foot home; you can only imagine the wear and tear that a house goes through living by the beach and my house was no exception, it was in very bad shape. Although he wasn't the least expensive, he was the most detailed and concise. He took notes, he walked me around the house and showed me all of the problems that I needed to address. So thorough and professional was he, I had him give me a quote to extend my deck another 300 square feet and then staining the entire 1300 square foot deck, and to boot I also asked him to put up an accent wall. Every morning for the past week, they have been here between 8:30AM - 8:45AM, the prep work that they have done is meticulous, everything is taped, the primer was put on so well my neighbors thought that it was the actual paint job. Sal and his team are so neat and tidy every place that is being painted has a drop cloth and at the end of the day everything is folded, cleaned and put away in a neat little pile in the garage. They sweep and clean up so well you wouldn't know that my house is being worked on. Forgive me, but I am not easily impressed. I had to have the inside of my house painted twice because I hired friends-of-friends, it took 8 weeks to put in a deck because my contractor went MIA, I had to do my hardwood floors twice because my contractor scratched them so badly with his work boots and tools. Sal and his team have restored my faith in mankind and that there are hardworking, very, very decent people out there who take so much pride in doing a job that is above and beyond. We (our downstairs neighbor and I) recently repainted the exterior of our home to address cracks in our stucco which may have been the source of a leak during the rainy season. We had 3 estimates and we chose middle one, which was Sal's. He provided a written estimate and quickly responded to an questions via email or by phone. It was about a 2 week job and w/ a crew of 2 or 3. Crew was friendly, courteous, and respectful. They always cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day and when they came inside the house to access the balconies, they would remove their shoes. We were very happy w/ the finished product. Sal was God sent. The kitchen sink was clogged. There was a blockage in the drain that was causing the water to leak from the second floor to the first floor whenever the grinder in the kitchen sink was used. I had no clue why it was happening. In panic, I got in touch with Sal. He showed up the same afternoon and quickly diagnosed that the the drainage was blocked. He got to work immediately. He soon found out that the main drain pipe was clogged and he need a bigger snake. Eventually, he cleared the blockage in the main drain pipe. Sal is an absolute delight to work with. He knows his stuff. He is confident and put me at ease. I could not pay him the same day because I did not have a checkbook with me and I had to immediately leave for a business trip.
