Given the state of pizza in the area, this is one of the better choices. The restaurant is focused on take out, the interior is small, but nice. Casual. I've only ever gotten takeout, but when I was there, it looked like service was attentive. Pizza is above average for Florida. Not quite the same as Calogero's but it's different pizza - this is New York style. This is on the keep list for now. read more

Sad to say it, but we were not impressed with their pizzas. We ordered 10 pizzas and two orders of spaghetti (the spaghetti was a special and we thought we'd mix it up for the revelers) for a kid's birthday party. It was great they delivered, saving us the hassle of picking it up. But, that's where it ends. The pizzas were bland, weak on the toppings and sauce, with overly thick crust for my liking. Sure, the kids ate slabs without complaint; and that's who it was primarily for. However, most of the adults were one or two slices and done (something to fill the belly I suppose). Not to forget - the pizzas arrived "cold" basically room temperature, so who knows how long beforehand they were actually made. The spaghetti, which I also tried a piece of, wasn't anything special and the meatball had to extra flavor that stood out making me want more. Sadly, but luckily, I will be removing Sal's from my 'want to go' collection. Wow, sooooooo good! I stopped in to get something for dinner and walked out with enough for lunch the next day. The gentleman who greeted me, very friendly and answered all my questions. I got the New York style meat lovers pizza and the sausage and peppers pasta. Goodness I don't know which was better. But 24 hours later, they're all gone and I'll be back! read more

First time there and was quite surprised. I ordered chicken parm and wife ordered manicotti. The chicken parm lunch portion was hugh. Plenty sauce pasta and the chicken was half the plate. The taste was excellent. My wife also enjoyed the manicotti . We will definitely go back. Sorry about the pictures I had a few bite before Zi took the pictures. read more

We ate on the inside which isn't very big but cute. Server was very attentive. The pizza was amazing but I was highly impressed with the Philly. Ever since we lost Big Tony's, I haven't found another local place that can make a great Philly until now. read more

In Town NEW pizza Place FAMILY FOOD ADVENTURE!!! I'd like to start by saying this is Sal's second location. Their first is in Auburndale, FL. Please note: We have never tried the Auburndale location. We were excited to have a new pizza place in our little town. This is a second pizza place to open in our town and it has a much better value for food ratio with an XL pizza for 18.99. We got one XL pizza, a large Calzone and an Italian sub. Drinks are can/cooler only. No fountain service. The pizza was good, now please remember I am from up North so I am a bit of a pizza snob. Once you have had real New York and Chicago pizza it's hard for the rest to compare, but it's definitely not the worst pizza I have had since moving to FL. The staff seemed a little out of order, but it's new so gotta give them time to get that together a bit more. The calzone was huge at 19$ for a large it can feed at least 3 people as a meal, but it was filled with cheesy goodness. The Italian sub was a standard sandwich, meats were ok, not boars head that's for sure!!! All in all yes we would return and we have. The second visit was take out. Pizza was the same as the first so they have the consistency so far and we got the Turkey sub with bacon, it was good, except the bacon as it was pizza bacon bits instead of strips. They should consider getting real bacon for their sandwiches as I would not order another sandwich with the current "bacon" they are using for the up charge. It's not worth it, it didn't really add anything to the sandwich. Either way we will be returning again and again as it is the best value for food in our town!!!! I have been ordering pizza from Sal's the only complaint that I have is they don't put enough toppings on their pizzas ! It's mainly crust I will try them one more time and if they are still cheap on toppings I will stop eating there. read more

First of all, this was my 3rd try with ordering a calzone there. The first one was decent tasting, but had way too much dough compared to cheese. Most of the bites were just dough...no mozzarella/ricotta. The second one was smaller than the first and had less ricotta than the first one. Secondly, the most recent calzone I ordered with EXTRA ricotta. It was the smallest calzone I ever seen in my life and it was $14! EXTRA Ricotta?? I think they heard "LIGHT" ricotta as there was barely any inside the calzone! Thirdly, the calzone was overcooked. The dough was burnt on the outside, while the inside was still kind of doughy. Might be cooking it at the wrong temp. Lastly, and this one is a personal opinion. I am not choosing any particular presidential candidate, but they have a TRUMP/PENCE sign in front of their store. I DO NOT, and WILL NOT, ever go into and support ANY business that chooses a side in ANY election. Keep that to your personal life. If the owners support a candidate, then put a sign in your front lawn, but keep it out of the business!! It has no business there. Does everyone who works there support your choice? Maybe they do, maybe they don't, but now they have to go to work at a place that might reflect opinions opposite their views. The same thing for customers. KEEP IT OUT OF BUSINESS. Now, I know I've only eaten there 3 times, so losing my business isn't going to affect you. But I just wanted to warn others who want a peaceful, non political place to eat at. read more

Disappointing to say the least, and I am be grateful. This is the first time we've visited since Lougie's closed. It has reopened under the name Sal's Pizza and it doesn't hold a candle to Lougie's. I ordered the Personal Sicilian Pizza, what a disappointment. I thought I was eating 2 slices of white bread with tasteless sauce and smothered with cheese. I've had good Sicilian Pizza and this was not even close to good. I checked the curst ( if you can call it that ) from time to time to see if I was eating white bread or pizza, because there was absolutely no crust to speak of. I commented to my wife that I thought I was eating two slices of white bread, and when I checked from time to time it looked like bread was folded over for the crust. My wife had the eggplant part and I thought she ordered a plate of cheese. It was hard to find the eggplant and the pasta under the bland sauce. If you are looking for Pizza I would go elsewhere as it's hard to give it one star. Lougie we miss you. read more
