My friends sandwich bc I NEVER RECEIVED MINE!
    Wendy S.

A 40 MINUTE WAIT FOR A TURKEY PANINI!! I came in with a friend to finally try this spot, but it was a total disaster from start to finish. We ordered separately, and after my friend received her sandwich, I realized something was wrong since I had actually ordered before her. When I asked about my food, the lady told me she had only taken my smoothie order. She said she'd "put it in now" and told me I could just pay for the sandwich afterward since she was busy taking other orders. I sat there watching person after person get their food while I was waiting on a turkey panini! It wasn't until my friend asked for a to-go box that they finally claimed my food was "coming up." By then, I had completely lost my appetite. I told them to give the sandwich to someone else and walked out. Truly an annoying, poorly managed experience. I will NOT be returning!

Espresso Bar on 2nd Street is basically where Long Beach goes to pretend we all have our lives together. The café is cute, bright, aesthetic... like everyone inside either owns a film camera or journals for fun. The lox and bagel? Dangerous. The chicken panini? Life-changing. And the berry smoothie tastes like somebody mixed vacation, therapy, and good decisions into one drink. I walked in planning to grab Spanish latte and leave... next thing I know, I'm sitting there for two hours acting mysterious on my laptop with absolutely nothing open. Honestly, this spot makes you want to order "just one drink" and somehow leave with three drinks, a sandwich, and a new hobby.

    Sugar free vanilla latte
    Lucy T.

I ordered a sugar-free vanilla latte and I was impressed! It had the most smooth coffee that reminded me of my mom's Armenian coffee! It was the perfect amount of sweetness and the best part was they had coconut milk! The girl helping was very sweet and the coffee shop was pretty big.

    Matcha latte
    Shauna S.

Came across a tik tok highlighting Espresso Bar's matcha lattes and tuna salad sandwiches (2 of my fav things) so I knew I had to try it. Got lucky and found a metered parking spot out front. Upon entering, was pleased to see the airy, modern atmosphere. Perfect to sit and chat with a friend. However I wasn't impressed by the quality of food. My bf got the acai bowl and it was completely melted, like an acai soup. Or an expensive bowl-form smoothie. The granola they chose didn't complement the flavor as well. The tuna salad melt was pretty good but for the price of nearly $17, I think it could've had more to offer. It looked much less impressive than the tik tok I saw. I've been on a quest to try all the matcha lattes I can in LB, but this latte was one of my least favorite I've tried, nothing special. As another reviewer mentioned, the cashier is not very welcoming, but I would say it was an overall neutral experience as far as service. Was a decent experience but would not recommend.

    Chocolate Gelato & Lavender Latte
    Luis M.

Came to this place for some coffee after soaking up some sun at the beach. I believe it was a viral tik tok my friend saw that had us curious to try. We ordered the strawberry matcha which was to die for!! Also got a lavender latte that did not disappoint. The banana latte was okay, but the gelato definitely hit the spot! Loved the natural lighting of the place, perfect for sitting in & doing some work or studying. Service was quick & the bathroom was ELITE, so nice & clean.

    Tuna melt
    Asha S.

10/10 would recommend! The tuna melt was chef's kiss. I cannot recommend it enough! The only feedback I have is to include some chips or something small as a side along with the sandwich bc the sandwiches are kind of expensive to come solo.

The delicious, STUFFED pastrami sandwich the influencer got
    Carmen H.

I was one of many people drawn here after seeing the viral TikTok/Instagram video showcasing this new spot. It's within walking distance of my house, so I was excited to stop by and try the pastrami sandwich featured in the video. The interior is very cute, and the bathroom is clean and well designed. I ordered the pastrami sandwich to-go, and overall it was very tasty! The pastrami was good quality, the jalapeños added a nice spice, and the pickles on the side were great. Next time i would probably choose the sourdough bread instead because the ciabatta was a bit tough. One disappointment worth noting is that the pastrami sandwich i received looked noticeably different from the one shown in the viral video. There was significantly less meat than what was advertised. I understand wanting to make an influencer's experience special, but it's important that the product customers receive is consistent with what is being promoted. When people visit specifically because of a viral post, they expect the same quality and portion they saw online. I noticed a similar difference with the tuna melt. The influencer's sandwich appeared generously filled, while the restaurant's own Yelp photo shows a much smaller portion. This wasn't necessarily a dealbreaker for us- Espresso Bar is still new and finding its rhythm. However, consistency between what is advertised and what customers receive will be important for building trust and encouraging repeat visits. I'm happy to support small local businesses and hope to see them succeed! Consistency will go a long way in building a loyal neighborhood following.

Avocado Smash Toast Matcha Latte Classic Tuna Melt
    Gabriela O.

The avocado toast was delicious, I liked that it didn't taste plain it had a delicious flavor, the tuna sandwich was good as well. The matcha was more on the stronger side. The staff was sweet and I liked the space it was very aesthetic.

Banana collagen latte and caramel latte
    Ivony G.

First off, I don't like writing negative reviews. I was excited to try this cafe but was left disappointed. We spent $56 after tip for 2 drinks and 2 food items. The caramel latte was okay but came in a tiny cup and was nothing memorable. The banana collagen latte tasted like artificial banana flavor (think banana laffy taffy). Onto the food. The lox on everything bagel was as expected. The turkey avocado crepe is the what compelled me to write this review. This is truly inedible. Seriously unfollowing the TT creator that recommended this bs. The turkey is so salty along with the salted avocado. I love salt but this was a salt bomb that I could not finish. I always finish my food. Skip these items. The prices here are giving airport for no reason. Leaving this review here so that people are warned before choosing this over nearby options.

    Mango matcha
    Joey H.

The food was decent and service was fine. I did ask for no tomatoes and got them in my sandwich no biggie I took them out. What bothered me more was the lack of chicken in my chicken sandwich? Matcha didn't taste much like matcha the mango overpowered. And what threw me off was a worker went up to us to tell us they were closing 15 mins before but didn't tell any other table besides mine I thought that was a little odd. Overall this is a skip for me

    Strawberry Matcha
    Sonia A.

I'm a local and live just a few blocks away, so I was really excited to finally try Espresso Bar. I ordered a strawberry matcha, but unfortunately, I could barely taste the matcha, and the drink seemed to be mostly ice. The quality didn't live up to my expectations, especially given how much I was looking forward to supporting a nearby business. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I don't think I'll be returning.

    Awesome
    Abdul Mohi S.

I had an amazing experience at Espresso Bar! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and comfortable. The service was top-notch--friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about making sure everything was perfect. Every item I tried was absolutely delicious. You can really tell they care about quality and consistency in what they serve. The espresso was rich and flavorful, and the rest of the menu did not disappoint at all. Overall, everything--from the service to the drinks and food--was awesome. I'll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Espresso Bro to anyone looking for a great spot!

I had a bunch of questions about the different kinds of matcha because I'm a newly matcha girlie and still learning the flavors. I told them I wanted something sweet, and they gave great recommendations and let me know the one I chose was really good quality. When I got it, it was a little strong for me, so we added more oat milk and a splash of vanilla, and that made it perfect. The aesthetic of the café was beautiful; minimalist, bougie, and it literally felt like a high end neighborhood café. The menu was teeny tiny, so it took us a minute to decide. My friend got an iced Spanish latte, and she said it was probably the best one she's ever had, this was also recommended by the cashier. We sat inside, drank our drinks, and did a little people watching out the window. Parking was a little sketch, but overall I definitely recommend and can't wait to go back.

When I walked in, there was a long line, so my friends and I naturally moved toward the back to wait. For some reason, the staff decided to make us the star of the show. Even after we clearly answered that we were not in line, multiple employees kept stopping service to ask my friends the exact same question over and over. It felt like I was being singled out for no reason, and the repeated attention was embarrassing and unnecessary. This is a coffee shop. We're not trying to budge the line just because we're brown people. I've never been to a coffee shop where employees were so focused on making a customer feel uncomfortable instead of simply serving people. It completely devastated my peace and made what should have been a quick coffee stop feel awkward and hostile. Customer service isn't just about making drinks--it's about making people feel welcome. Unfortunately, this experience did the exact opposite. I won't be returning, and I certainly can't recommend this location to anyone looking for a relaxed atmosphere.

I'm absolutely obsessed with their coffee menu, baked items, sandwiches, and their selection of grocery-like goods. I ordered the Midsommar caramel latte, ceasar salad sandwich on their fresh baked bread, and the strawberry rhubarb and pistachio danish (!!). I'd easily sign up for this lineup to be my last meal on earth. I even ordered a sourdough bread loaf with olives so I could ride this high for several more days. The Midsommar latte is crafted with housemade caramel, espresso, milk, and topped with sprinkles of fennel and bee pollen - the perfect finale to an already incredible drink. I got a honey lavender latte, as I've only tried their drip in the past. The honey lavender notes were definitely there, but the latte is much more on the milky side than coffee side, which is what I didn't like. However, their sandwich was soo good. The turkey and brie has a nice fluffy bread, a healthy portion of turkey, a mix of herbs, and this super sweet and fragrant fig mostarda, which is like a fig mustard spread. Definitely would come back for the sandwich, maybe not the coffee though.
