I'm not sure why I've waited so long to give Jug Band a try, but I finally made it in and I'm impressed. Prices are very reasonable. I tried their special labubu latte with matcha subbed for the espresso and it was fantastic! I'm going to miss it now that it's come off of the specials list. I also stopped by for breakfast one day and had the Big Easy, which was very filling and again a good value. The seating is comfortable but does fill up. The horchata had a bit too much cinnamon in it and I wished I had chosen something less basic. LOL. I live right by so I pop in every once in a while to see what the new coffees are. Wasn't disappointed. I got a hot maple pecan latte LG and an iced Labubu latte SM The maple pecan was amazing The Labubu was weird tasting. I had to swirl it around to mix the flavors and I wouldn't say it is bad but I don"t think it is worth 6+ dollars. It definitely is interesting with its blackberry cardamom flavoring. The inside vibes are always great. Feels like how a small coffee shop should. My only complaint is that I had to step over someone's dog to get to the desk to order. Great place to pick up or sit and enjoy a coffee and a delicious bite. I love their cortadito. Just picked up an avocado toast. They ran out of sliced bread but we subbed for a sour dough bagel, even better. I did bring it home and sprinkled a little lemon pepper on it. Everything I have had there seems pretty good and shareable too. They are always so nice and there is always someone playing music. Great atmosphere! This place is a hidden jem!! Stopped here because I saw they had a vegan breakfast burrito and it was soooooo good! We got there around 11am on a Sunday and it was pretty packed but we were still able to find a table. Drinks came out quickly, food took about 15 minutes which was great for how busy it was. My latte was super tasty, the espresso wasn't burnt or sour. The breakfast burrito was so good & I'll definitely be coming back to get that again soon. I also ended up coming on a Tuesday night for their live jazz and pizza. It was very very packed so I'd recommend coming much earlier to actually secure a spot. Landed there on a night they had live music, which was amazing! Tried an interesting specialty drink that may just not have been for me. It was an espresso drink with possibly a blackberry syrup, and I couldn't finish it. But I'd like to come back and give a different drink a try next time. Long Beach has a plethora of independent coffee shops and each one is an experience. Jug Band is unique in it's theme and decor. They're located on Broadway and parking might be difficult (as is the case in most of LB), but just park a block away and walk over. They have an amazing menu of coffee and food. I recently ordered a lox and bagel and it was beyond generous and flavorful. Customer service has always been great, they're so incredibly friendly and nice. There's plenty of seating. They also host an open mic night which I haven't been to yet. There is bluegrass music playing and lots of decor to match it like guitars and such. I love this independent coffee shop and encourage anyone who loves coffee shops and cafes and wants to try something different to visit! read more

Sweet little corner coffee shop on Temple and Broadway. Outside chairs and tables with umbrellas to keep the sun out of your eyes. Looks like they have live music, which we drove by once recently. BEST PIZZA EVER!!!!! We stumbled into this place in search of coffee and ended up with the most amazing deep dish pepperoni slices! The flavor was so fresh and the tomato sauce placed on top really hit! The deep dish (which they said is new and coming to the menu fulltime) was flavorful but not too heavy. The owner actually hooked us up on a 2nd slice for my husband on the house which was pretty amazing! We also had the pumpkin chai latte soy and it was subtly sweet with just the perfect amount of everything. The chai was definitely made with love, you could tell it was quality. Well done. A bit dangerous that this place is around the corner from me. Atmosphere: this cafe is a vibe. Very lovely always, some seating, and a good place to work remotely during mornings. Food and drink: their bagels have really gotten good. I remember trying it when they first opened and thinking they were just okay, but lately they have mimicked east coast bagels and they're absolutely delicious and fluffy and crisp. Their vegan pizza is also pretty solid and they offer slices, which is pretty sweet during lunch hours. Their coffees are solid as well. I don't think they always have house made syrups but their seasonal specials are often pretty yummy. They also have a good selection of teas Service: always friendly, always quick. I am so happy I live so close to such a great little coffee/bagel/pizza shop! The customer service is A+++. Everyone was SO nice! Now I am a pretty price conscious person, so I was a little hesitant to order a roughly $14 lox bagel, but I really wanted to support my neighbors and it sounded really delicious. Let me tell you, it was SO GOOD! Money well spent for sure!! The portion is HUGE! You can truly split it with another person- I wish I had because it was so much food. But it was perfectly delicious so I'm not mad having to eat it by myself. I got it on the jalapeño cheddar bagel which I was a little worried about that combo, but turns out, I've been missing out on jalapeño cheddar lox bagels my whole life! It was the perfect combo! The jalapeño gave it a nice kick! The bagels are homemade and they use a sourdough starter that is over 220 years old! It's a really cute interior and vibe as well. But a good walk was fine. You will like the decor of guitars on the wall. Seating inside is a bit small but it's cozy. The staff was very friendly and professional. We order a couple of bagels with cream cheese and the smoke salmon with cream cheese on a bagel! That was my favorite! As for the ice coffee and matcha was tasty. HOLY WHAT, I left this place with a Bfast Sammie to go less than 5 minutes ago - it's gone. It was honestly the best breakfast sandwich I've had in Long Beach. I chose the jalapeño bagel which was actually spicy, soooo good. The ham slice was thick and the cheese was partially crispy. THIS IS THE BEST BREAKFAST SANDWICH IN LONG BEACH!! Out of towner, non-vegan here. THIS PIZZA IS SOMETHING NEXT LEVEL. From the day I had this pizza (they used to be across the street) I have dreamed of it. We had the bbq chicken and my son and I talked about it for a year. Here we are back and that was the #1 place we had to hit. I am surprised this coffee shop doesn't have more pictures or reviews. This place is definitely underrated! Their coffee is amazing, I love getting different syrups for my matcha. So far I'm a fan of their honey matcha. Oh, and their food is also delicious and filling. I'm use to small bites and okay food at coffee shops but this place is different. My son was home on Thanksgiving break and we drove down to Long Beach to pick up a pie from my favorite bakery. We stopped here to get coffee. I got their winter special the butterscotch latte (hot). It was knock your socks off delicious! Not too sweet. Perfect amount of creamy and sweetness. I got it with almond milk, because that is my preference. My son got a hot cafe mocha. Again, not too much chocolate. Both drinks had Just the right amount of creamy and sweetness where you can still taste that it's coffee and not dessert. Staff was friendly. It's a hodge podge hippie/folksy decorated type place. Not fancy, kind of a hole in the wall, but woodsy/country/folk music themed. They have musicians come in and play at night. We did not eat. The food did look delicious from what I could tell with people who were eating and drinking there. I don't live close, but think about going back to get another coffee and try the food weekly.
