Absolutely darling little spot. I had a latte made with a unique African roast. If you haven't tried an African roast, they have a floral flavor which was different but nice. I ordered the everything bagel sandwich which was delicious. I love that it's in walking distance from our house is it's a nice spot to stop on. If I wake a little earlier, I would walk in to get a cup before work but that will be a process. The atmosphere was chill and they also serve wine! Checked out a neighborhood coffee shop. Absolutely loved it! I tried their lavender latte which wasn't too sweet (just the way I like it). I was able to get some work done on my computer thanks to how many tables they have and how quiet it was. There was a breakfast burrito pop up here while I stopped by. Sala is a cool, little coffee shop! If you delight in supporting local business, Sala is a nice stop. The location seems like an old liquor store, which gives the Whittier location a sweet vibe. The vibe here is cool, but ultimately I just wasn't impressed with the coffee. My wife ordered the cold brew, which was good, but I preferred the Mexican Mocha which was supposed to be spicy. I didn't find it to be spicy in any way, which was disappointing, and I'm not really sure what made it "Mexican" as I wasn't able to distinguish it from any other mocha. I will absolutely come back and give them a second chance but I likely won't order the Mexican Mocha again. read more

This is my favorite wine and coffee shop in Whittier. They have an amazing selection of curated wines and were always picking up something different when we get the chance. They have a small selection of unique and delicious coffee and often have vegan donuts available as well. The store front has a few seats available for you to enjoy your drinks, and the staff is always friendly and willing to help should you need suggestions. There is a small parking lot behind the shop, as well as street parking so it's usually not difficult to find a spot. That said, the rating's due to the fact that you actually can't drink on sight like I initially thought, though they do sell bottles and might very well have a great selections to purchase. Dropped in to try a coffee and breakfast burrito today and was very satisfied. The breakfast burritos are actually cooked in their Long Beach location and brought over each day to the Whittier location. When ordered here, they are reheated in a toaster oven which leaves the burrito hot and crunchy on the outside. Added their green salsa and I must say it tasted great. Their house coffee was delish. More on the light side but their hot frothy cream and simple syrup gave it a nice taste. I'll come back soon for sure. read more

My partner ordered Honey Ginger Latte. Also 2 bacon breakfast burritos. We love coffee okay, let me just say this in the nicest way possible. This was the shittiest cup of coffee I've had in a while. The burritos idk wtf but they are so plain and flavorless. It really disappointed me that the green salsa that it came with couldn't even rescue it. Even more disappointing that all of this for almost 50$. I wouldn't mind paying that if it was quality but nope it isn't! Super cute coffee and wine shop in Whittier. I came by for a latte and a little bit of working with a friend. Staff is friendly and it's a decent sized space with a handful of tables. I enjoyed my latte but the only downside is that there is no bathroom! So if you want to do a little bit of work here, you'll have to hold it or go to the library a mile down. read more

Such a cute local coffee shop!! I've been trying to support more small businesses during these times and had this coffee shop bookmarked for some time now. I decided to stop by on my day off and I absolutely will return. The place is owned by a sweet couple, Brandee and Derrick. I asked how business was and they said that since quarantine began in March that more people have been buying wine, so they've added a wider range of wine to their store. Derrick is very knowledgeable about his wines so I think this would be a great spot to pick up a bottle or two to try at home. Decor wise, the shop is adorable. So simple, so calm, and so beautiful. They currently have a little plant pop up I think until the end of August so if you're one of the people that has taken up planting during quarantine, stop by!! I ordered an americano for myself and a Salita and matcha latte for my family. The americano was so smooth and delicious. I love local coffee shops because the difference in the quality of an espresso is just beyond comparison to any chain like Starbucks. Came here for a coffee before heading for lunch. It was recommended by a Whittier influence so decided to try it out. We ordered the cold brew with oat milk and a splash of their homemade vanilla syrup. The consistency of the cold brew was really weird, murky and it settled at the bottom of the cold brew. The whole drink tasted sour, like the oat milk had gone bad, or the homemade syrup had gone bad. Besides that, the place is sparsely decorated, there's some people there studying and/or working on their laptops, and they have a ton of wine for sale. So, this place could be a gem if you're looking to buy a wine for yourself or to gift. read more

Absolutely gorgeous coffee and tea spot with a super welcoming vibe. I popped in one morning on my way to a training after Yelping "coffee". But I actually ended up getting tea, White Nepal Tea to be exact, because I'd never had White Nepal Tea and had to try it. The care and detail shown in the brewing process blew my mind and the flavor revealed that the staff knew exactly what they were doing. So delicious! If I lived closer, I'd be here every day, hanging out in their sala and chilling. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. read more

Unfortunately, in order to make it in the biz you have to appeal to the palettes of the masses that love S@$rbucks or Coffee B%#n.
