We had a great time when we visited Zen's Tea House at the Kaiser Permanente Downey Farmers Market. We really enjoyed the Golden Milk and Peppermint teas, which were tasty and had a good variety. We ultimately purchased Golden Milk, Holy Detox, and Dream of Flower, all of which embodied the stall's good energy. The employee was really considerate and took the time to patiently and warmly respond to all of our inquiries. We received complimentary tea bags as a courtesy, which was a very pleasant addition. Came upon a cute little tea shop in uptown Whittier! Great assortment of loose tea leaves to purchase and make at home. I purchased Golden Milk Tea, Cardamom Rose and Peach Oolong tea leaves. They also have a counter to order iced or hot teas and/or bagels. The gentleman at the counter was very professional and welcoming. I order a hot rose petal tea with coconut milk and I opted for monk fruit sweetener and it was delicious. I definitely will make it a point to stop by when I'm in the area. Was feeling a bit thirsty while walking about and saw that there was a new tea place across the street. Very glad that we decided to stop by. They are currently going through their grand opening. It's a very relaxing cafe, lots of green and they even have loose tea leaves, CBD oils, flasks, etc to purchase. We entered their raffle and we also got a neat mug with turmeric tea and coconut tea (for purchases over $25). They also have a Clover point system where you can just text some code words to a number and get points for deals in the future. I love tea. I consider myself an ABG (Asian Boba Girl, lmao). Not very often do you see tea places that work towards bettering the health of their customers. Seeing that Zen's Tea House works with Naturopathic/Homeopathic doctors and physicians shows a high level of responsibility and care in what they promote. Staff was so well informed about the quality, flavor, and health benefits of the teas. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere all around. I got the: 1) Mauritius Milk Tea: -I'll be honest, I ordered this without knowing what it was. I thought it was some person's name, but I looked it up and it is a country in East Africa (everyday you learn something new!) -I'm not sure how to describe it, except... kind of like a Hong Kong milk tea in terms of the strength of the tea leaves combined with creamy milk. There was also a slight roasted flavor with a hint of caramel/toffee after note. -It is not mega sweet and tasted very good. I downed this on the ride back home.... 2) Dream of Flowers Milk Tea: -Lovely, absolutely lovely. -I adore rose and lavender milk teas and so many places mess it up and make it either scathingly sweet or it ends up tasting like lotion or perfume. NOT HERE. -I can taste a hint of chamomile with some other floral notes and this went beautifully well with the creaminess of the milk. Very mild floral taste that ends on that sweetness. -If I went to a fairy's garden, I'm sure she would serve me this at a tea party. DEFINITELY WORTH COMING BACK. There are SO MANY unique teas and flavors on their menu and I wanna try them all ! read more

As a chiropractor and someone who specializes in holistic health, the owner, Fernando, has a wealth of knowledge on how tea can be beneficial for your health. This review is for their Golden Milk blend. A couple of years ago we came across their booth at the Downey Farmers Market and bought a batch of their golden milk tumeric, ginger, and cinnamon blend. I've been purchasing it online ever since and have been adding it to my drinks almost every day for the past two years. I love the taste! I usually add it to my coffee which I don't know if you're supposed to because it may defeat the purpose of its benefits but I love how it makes my coffee taste. This was a PERFECT golden milk latte. I am all about the turmeric and I make this drink at home often. I thought to stick with old reliable when I came here for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised by just how good this milky, frothy, delicious, perfect latte was. The lovely young lady working there couldn't have made this drink any better.
