My friend mentioned she should've added cold foam, and the barista kindly added it on complimentary, which was such a thoughtful touch. Overall, everything was delicious and well-made, and the experience felt really welcoming. This spot used to be Coffee Bean, which I loved growing up, so I was a little sad when it closed but I'm honestly really happy this is what replaced it. Definitely recommend. read more

I just remembered this placing having a restroom because I stopped by with my friend few years ago when it used to be Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Ordered two seasonal drinks - Coconut Matcha Cloud and Strawberry Shortcake Latte. Coconut Matcha Cloud was excellent. This place uses pink, organic coconut water, which tasted very smooth with natural sweetness. Matcha cold cream wasn't too sweet so it balanced well with the coconut water. Strawberry Shortcake Latte was good too but was too sweet for me. It has espresso, milk, strawberry puree, and condensed milk. I added some of the matcha cream from my other drink to balance it out, basically turning it into a matcha strawberry shortcake latte. The decor: a minimalist, tasteful, calm aesthetic, industrial, clean, and simple vibe. Not cozy, but an inviting space to sit for conversation or solitude to work or read. Plants added a touch of green and sense of life and growth. The music was soft and perfect for background ambience. There was a variety of coffee drinks, other drinks, and some food available. I noticed different brewing machines, which was interesting and will appeal to more serious coffee drinkers. I liked the tile design and color, a bright blue at the counter and a dusty teal in the spacious, clean restrooms. There is a separate room that would work nicely for a small group or meeting. I hope they permit reservations for it in the future. The woman who took my order and the woman who made my latte were charming and friendly, doing their work efficiently with a pleasant attitude. Tranquilo Coffee took over the old Coffee Bean location and the nostalgia alone made me excited to visit. I used to come here all the time in college to study, so when Coffee Bean closed I couldn't wait to see what would move in -- and honestly, I love what they've done with the space. The old setup felt darker and heavier with all the wood tones, but Tranquilo completely opened it up. The bright whites with the blue and orange accents make it feel so much bigger, lighter, and more inviting. It's the kind of coffee shop you actually want to sit in for a while -- whether that's catching up with a friend, studying, or getting some work done. And the coffee? Even better. I'm obsessed. I've already been three times. The first time I got the Spanish latte. I usually stay away from sweeter coffee drinks, but this one was so balanced and not overly sweet at all. The last two visits I ordered the Zuzu Cloud Top -- a cold brew mixed with your choice of whole milk or oat milk, topped with their cold foam and espresso powder. So creamy, so smooth, so good. It's creamy cold brew coffee that's sweetened with house-made syrup, and it's topped with fluffy foam & sprinkled espresso powder. TASTY! This coffee tasted bright, chill, and silky. After 40 minutes, the clean coffee's strength suddenly hit me. I felt happy. I arrived at Tranquilo Coffee (Whittier) on Friday (around 9:15AM). Parking is available and free; however, it's very competitive. There's a very competitive, busy customer parking lot. And there's street parking. Customers order at the counter. There was ALWAYS a line! POPULAR!! When I'd left, the line started to stretch outside the doorway. It took about five minutes to reach the counter; however, my drink was completed in 32 seconds!!! FAST! Staff is polite and composed. As mentioned, I ordered the ZuZu Cloud Top ($7). This coffee is not bitter nor overly sweet; rather, it's very smooth and clean. Immediately, I thought of bright & refreshing flavors as I sipped. The hype for this location is genuine!! The coffee has utility and flavor. On ambiance, Tranquilo Coffee (Whittier) is very clean. Despite the eye-sore orange chairs, the ceiling is very pretty. There's many college students studying with laptops at this spot. I counted about two electrical outlets by the tables; however, the long counter has extra electrical outlets embedded in its underside. In addition, Tranquilo Coffee (Whittier) has about nine tables and one very long table counter. There's two gender neutral restrooms with number codes. And I appreciated the upbeat music. This location felt comfortable and new. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Tranquilo Coffee (Whittier). I felt awake and happy after sipping. After my Pilates class I had to stop by because I was curious where people were getting their coffee from. When I went, they still had their soft opening hours and I would say there were 6 people ahead of me. Which doesn't seem like much, but the line was out the door, and progressively got longer as time went on. I really enjoyed the space, and even thought I waited maybe 15 minutes to order, my drink and pastry were out in a jiffy! You can't go wrong with their honey oat latte with a chocolate croissant. This spot is tucked away in the outermost corner, so it might take a second to find--but once you do, you'll notice how big the space is. Honestly, it's huge... they could definitely add more tables to fill it out. My boyfriend and I stopped by around 4:30 PM, not realizing they close at 4. Even though they were technically closed, Joel was kind enough to still let us order the Zuzu Cloud Top since they had the ingredients available--and I'm so glad he did! That drink was amazing. The cloud top was easily one of the best I've ever had--light, flavorful, and just overall perfection. I'm genuinely so grateful he let us try it. He also mentioned they're currently in their soft opening phase, which honestly surprised me. Most soft openings I've been to have pretty limited menus, but they already had a good variety. This new location is not fully ready but was able to get a taste of some of their coffee and pastries. I liked the Spanish latte just due keep in mind it is on the sweater side. The Zuzu cloud top is also good not so sweet but foam does give it more flavor. Location is pretty big, a space to get work done but parking is not the best. Since they are just opening lines are a bit long and it seemed like they are still training people. Workers are helpful and nice. The only thing I just wish they can adjust would be how much ice in the cup. It felt like I finish my drink on a couple sips and the cup was full of pure big ice. read more

I'm a regular at Tranquilo Coffee and it never disappoints. My go-to is an iced vanilla matcha (no agave, 19g matcha), and it's always spot on. My boyfriend gets the Tranquilo cold brew with vanilla and cold foam, and he's just as obsessed. The drinks are consistently amazing, and the service is super fast, which I really appreciate. There was one time they missed adding vanilla/agave but still charged for it, which was a little annoying, but it hasn't happened again. I checked out a new coffee shop in my hometown during their first soft opening week and turned it into a little Sunday adventure with my pup. The line was definitely long, but it moved quickly, which I appreciated. Parking in the area can be a bit tricky, but I got lucky and found a spot pretty fast. On my first visit, I tried the butter croissant and the Strawberry Shortcake latte. The drink was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, not bitter, just really well done. My only regret is not asking to add vanilla cold foam. I also had the chance to meet the owner, who was actually taking orders herself. She was incredibly sweet and shared some of her plans for the space, which made the experience feel even more personal. The shop itself is spacious with plenty of seating, great music, and a really welcoming vibe. They also have a private room with glass windows, and I'm excited to see what's in store for that area. It looks like they even have cups for dine-in, which all makes it a great spot to hang out, catch up with friends, or even get some studying done, if you don't mind a steady flow of people coming in and out (which I definitely don't). Every staff member I've interacted with has been incredibly warm and welcoming. They're so good at greeting people right away and are very attentive, which really elevates the whole experience. I loved it so much I ended up bringing some coworkers back during lunch the following day. That time I tried the Zuzu Cloud and the horchata latte. I was especially impressed with the horchata latte, sometimes they can come out grainy (from previous experiences at other shops), but this one was smooth, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. With that said, the Zuzu Cloud is definitely my favorite so far (and yes... I've already been back a few times lol). I had been wanting to visit this new coffee shop ever since I saw it being built! I went in today to get a banana pudding latte and it was mid. I swore I read that the drink came with a cream top, but the drink was handed to me without it. When I asked if the drink came with a cream top, the person was sort of catty with me lol. Aside from that, the customer service was definitely not great. I felt unwelcome and out of place. I am an avid coffee drinker and like to explore and I've been to small coffee shops with staff that are extremely welcoming. I get that people have their days though, so maybe this was an off day for staff. I just felt like they were stuck up. For being a new coffee shop, typically staff is nicer and more helpful? Idk. Overall, I've been to much better coffee shops with great coffee so I probably won't come back here! read more

There was hardly any banana flavoring and the mixture was with oat milk which might have overpowered the banana. However there's no option to remove the oat milk. For a newly opened place, it didn't feel welcoming at all, and there was no effort to explain the menu or the drinks. I ordered a basic latte and a matcha latte, but both were underwhelming. The coffee lacked depth and richness, and the matcha latte barely tasted like matcha--it was mostly milk. I took a couple of sips and didn't even finish it.
