Hidden gem! FOOD: I had a wonderful drunken noodle dish. The noodles were unlike anything I have ever had. They were fresh and thick cut. The sauce was perfect with the yummy chicken basil and veggies. AMBIANCE: Cute, traditional decor. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort into making the restaurant look nice and stylish. SERVICE: Very nice and quick! My husband comes here a lot and always raves about how good they are to him. Overall, will I be back? Yes and my husband will too!

Restaurant was empty on a Saturday evening around 7 pm when we checked in. However, they had online order pick ups. Service was great. Restaurant is beautiful decorated and it was very spacious. We ordered Shrimp pad sew and Chicken green curry. Both had generous portions and tasted good. Mango coconut rice was good too but we were full and couldn't enjoy much. I want to talk about chicken fried rice which we took as a to go. May be I failed to read the description, but it had just the rice and chicken with may be few pieces of eggs. Chicken didn't taste good the next day. Rice had no taste either. I am always a big fan of fried rice but this one failed to impress.

Service charge? Lol. Get out of here

Ewww...u guys should really read this by sacramento bee about this restaurant https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.sacbee.com/news/local/article311891411.html First of all, service is horrible. The lady serving us has an attitude that needs working on. Food was mediocre. Be vigilant with ur receipt. I asked about 2 charges and she said it was tax plus service charge no tip added. I'd rather drive all the way to elk grove and eat at thai chili. Bye sala thai, u need working on. Lol

Sala Thai is a good Thai restaurant in Rancho Cordova (off Zinfandel) with a very quiet and peaceful atmosphere. I have been here twice for lunch on the weekend and both times, it was not very busy. We were able to get a table right away. Although it wasn't too busy, service was a bit slow to start. The workers were in the back mostly and it was hard to flag someone down when I wanted to request something. Previously, I've ordered the Duck Curry, which I thought was okay. There wasn't too much duck and the curry was not bad. I wanted to try a different dish next time. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice, which was really good! It came with large shrimp and chicken, which were really nice. I loved the pineapple chunks and the flavor of the rice dish. I also tried the Green Curry with chicken and the curry was really tasty. There was some inconsistency with their dishes. One time I tried the Garlic Lover with chicken and it was outstanding. Another time, I tried the same dish, and it must not have been cooked right because it lacked flavor. I ordered the Thai coffee and did NOT like it. I probably should have gotten the Thai Tea. Overall, my experiences at Sala Thai were not bad. The food was some hit and some miss. The service was sometimes good and sometimes a bit slow. The atmosphere was very serene and peaceful, which I really enjoyed. We also stayed awhile and they didn't rush us to leave until they closed.

Had a good dinner here on a Saturday night. Was seated quickly and the peaceful, dim lighting created a relaxing ambiance. The Drunken Noodles with a spice level of 3 were delicious and the perfect amount of spice. The Thai beer was a great accompaniment. Will definitely be back to try other items and maybe higher spice levels.

Went to eat at Sala Thai again today and it was delicious! We haven't been here in a long time. We ordered the same items as before: fresh rolls with tofu, green beans with chicken, pad Thai with chicken, and cashew nut with chicken, and 2 Thai ice teas. All were so good. Service was fast as usual. The ambience was quiet. This place is seriously the best Thai restaurant around. Come try it and you'll know what we mean.

The restaurant was empty when we got there. We were seated immediately. Looked at the menu and ordered as we were hungry. First off the chicken satay here is actually really good! Besides the chicken satay, we also ordered the egg rolls, yellow curry and boat noodle. Chicken satay- flavorful and juicy Egg rolls- I don't care for it. The veggies and noodle were quite mushy inside. Yellow curry- hubby enjoyed it with a side of sticky rice. I thought they were okay. Boat noodle- the broth was a bit salty The waitress was nice. Although, don't expect her to refill your water. She left the pitcher on the table for us to serve ourselves

I went to this restaurant for lunch by myself and ordered Pad Thai. The food was good but it was a bit soggy for me. If they can reduce the sauce then it would be perfect. There was no wait since it's lunch and during weekday. The interior design is special which bring up some kind of vintage vibe. I haven't tried other food so I am not sure about them. But so far, would recommend if you come here for Pad Thai and, if possible, ask them to reduce the sauce a bit. I came from Southern California where there are more Asian foods so maybe that's why I have a bit higher expectation, but I think overall this restaurant is still very good.

Great service, and the ambiance has an older traditional feel to it. Clean and welcoming inside. I ordered the Broccoli Dish and Fresh Rolls. The rolls were very fresh and had great flavor. I liked they served two different sauces with the dish. My broccoli and chicken was amazing. The sauce was perfect. The chicken was tender and prepared perfectly. Very happy with my visit, I will be back again.

I almost missed this place because it looked closed. I wonder how many others did the same? I am super glad I do not. The place is gorgeous inside with a unique hand craved Dragon. The service, take out, was friendly and knowledgeable for my first visit. I had the Duck Curry and it was delicious and has a unique flavor that excites the senses. And the quantity was perfect. Now I poured mine over sticky rice. I normally only get steam rice but wanted to venture a little bit. Definitely worth the try, for me, I will stick to steam rice (no pun intended). The fresh rolls were heavenly, light and refreshing. The best I have ever had. And the peanut sauce was incredible. Do your taste buds a favor, and yourself, and try this place. It's worth it. And if you are looking for a first date or special occasion- the intimate environment will seal the deal. Enjoy! And tell them James sent ya.

Tum Yum soup (a little on the sweeter side), drunken noodle, and California hand roll tasted great. 7) bathroom clean. 8) we got our tab quick and it was easy to go pay it. 9) our waitress was very nice. Cons 1) there were 3 of us. Two of us got water. One didn't. We had to ask for a 3rd glass of water. Twice. The first half dozen times I came, was during 2020 and 2021 and they did not allow anyone inside beyond a tiny 3'x3' space at the far door. Take out only. I recall my review mentioned service time quoted wrong and inconsistent spice level. Well, those two were problematic tonight. I didn't ask and wasn't told how long food would be. Shortly after placing my order a group of young people walked in like they owned the place and sat at a long table that had dishes added to it as they were coming in. My food took 30+ minutes. The Tom kha seafood... I think the seafood may have been frozen and re-thawed a couple of times as it had a strange combination of textures within a piece of meat and pieces were very chewy. The spiciness, asked for medium but not too hot, like mild-medium. My liquidy yellow curry chicken was barely mild. The soup, was just sweet. Tbe rice was abundant but soggy/clumpy. The inside is absolutely lovely. I took tons of pictures for my first visit inside. I was told most was imported from Thailand. I believe it. I'm just not able to get myself to find the food good enough for me. Sad.

On Sundays, she's in the kitchen cooking and turning out amazing dishes as well! Last Sunday I brought vegetarian family over for lunch and we ordered my goto safe and tasty silver noodles. Wife had their spring rolls and kids had drunken noodles no spicy. They are very accommodating with all sorts of requests like no eggs no onion no garlic etc and wanting soft tofu rather than fried tofu. I saw how many new specials they have plastered on the window and inside entrance, I knew I had to bring my parents over this Sunday! We came in today and order the crying tiger. We do wish it to be rarer for more soft texture but the flavor was great. My parents liked the ocean in love with the lobster tail, shrimp, and scallops over spiced veggies. The BBQ pork ribs was another safe choice of mild and savory Sweet flavor while the meat was tender. I didn't try the tom yum shrimp fried rice but my parents liked it as it has coconut flavor and it was literally a mountain of fried rice! Spicy though and I had to refrain while letting my GI heal from recent injury. Upon placing the orders, the owner quickly came out to see if it was really us! While doing some work in this part of Sacramento, I decided to grab lunch even though it was on the…read moreend of a traditional lunch hour, which is usually how I roll anyway. I've been craving good Thai food for a hot minute, and YELP to the rescue! Kaidao is located in a strip mall with several other restaurants. They're only open until 2:30 in the afternoon for lunch, and have an entire menu that is devoted to a ton of lunch items. It's a small restaurant, and there is extremely limited seating. There's a huge sign on their front door, telling customers and anyone else that if you wish to use the restroom that basically forget it they're not going to allow you to use the restroom. The restaurant opened up sometime in the middle of the pandemic and they've been there ever since. The restaurant seems to be run by a couple with the wife in the back cooking, and the husband taking care of the front end of the restaurant. That means he does the seating, the ordertaking, and brings everything to the table, as well as cleans up afterwards. Pictures can be deceiving. I ended up ordering the pad Thai noodles with beef. I was really looking for a lot of protein, and would have preferred chicken, but when I glanced over at the table next to me, they had a chicken dish with chicken exactly the way I don't like it. Slice pieces of white meat that taste like sawdust that has been compressed together. I just find that very rarely is it ever tasty, moist or flavorful. I ordered a Thai tea, and asked if the beef or if there was another protein that would be recommended. He insisted beef was really good. So beef it was. I had to remind him twice that I had ordered a Thai tea before he brought it to the table because it was obvious that he had forgotten. The Thai tea was pretty tasty. It was also very strong. Something that I was definitely in favor of at that time of day, but it just caught me off guard. I will say this was the best part of the meal! When my lunch arrived, you can tell by the pictures that it looks tasty. It was sadly disappointing. The noodles were not cooked all the way through and were rather hard, and I would say less than al dente. Not something that's expected in a Thai dish. All if not, most dishes can be ordered with whatever heat level you desire. This was not one of them. It was prepared mild, which was fine, it just lacked enough sauce, and sadly had even less flavor to it. It's like they skimp on the sauce for whatever reason. The beef was also exactly what I did not want and was prepared like the chicken dish Was at the table next to me. Small little tiny thin slices that were not seasoned, and was overcooked. Just overall it was not a good dish. What I did like, was a presentation of the dish. I like the fact that there was the nuts, and veggies on the side so that I could incorporate them into my dish as well as lime slices. I am thanked the man for the lime because I think it really makes these dishes taste fresh. I think if they were to cook the noodles so that they are done, add more sauce and flavor, and not overcook the meat. This would've been a great dish.
