    Chicken ramen spicy.

Ordered takeout. We were told it would be ready in 5 min! Headed over to pick it up. Clean on the inside. Ramen was so so. Lots and lots of noodles in the bowl. I ordered spicy and it was more on the medium side. Flavor for both bowls was on the bland side.

WOW. Literally my favorite ramen spot in Sac now. Small store, pretty spacious. Not your traditional restaurant. You order at the register and then seated. The servers are so helpful! Patty was the sweetest, she answered all of my questions. Especially because when I visited I had dietary restrictions. She was quick to recommend items I could have and how to make accommodations for me. Guys the Lychee Smoothie is a MUST TRY!!! It's so yummy! The flavor of lychee is so strong and the drink itself is so refreshing! More icy, juicy, rather than a thick creamy smoothie. I love it!! I get it every time!! Shout out to Patty for recommending it. Also BEWARE the portions are MASSIVE. You get more than your money's worth. If we had known prior, we would've shared instead of ordering 3 bowls of ramen. We took most of it to go because we couldn't finish. The appetizers came out quickly, cooked to perfection. So crispy! Everything is so delicious. Literally cannot go wrong! Come stop by for a happy tummy! And a great experience. The servers are so nice, great at recommending items on the menu. Just tell them what you like and they'll point you in the right direction. But regardless, order the Lychee Smoothie!!! You won't regret it! 10000% coming back for more of everything!!

My man and I stopped by earlier today for lunch, we both had ramen, and it was absolutely delicious! There wasn't a line when we got there but it got pretty busy as it was around lunch time. The ambiance was great and lively, but it didn't have to wait for a table or long at all for our food. The woman upfront was very efficient, kind and friendly. We will definitely be trying this ramen spot again.

Yummy yummy yummy noodles and smoothie! Got the tonkotsu ramen with extra eggs and lychee smoothie for one for dine in. Just delicious and so satisfying. Really hit the spot.

Ramen 101 hits the spot when is late and you get ramen cravings. We visited 1 hr before closing. We got (2)Black Garlic Ramen 1 mild and 1 medium to which they both were less than mild, Spam Musubi(2)-was falling apart extremely to much rice the seaweed couldn't hold it. It didn't stop me from eating tho and Unagi Rice was delicious. It was somewhat busy considering it was towards closing time, everyone was cleaning something you can smell once you enter. Not complaining. Overall we enjoyed our late night dinner.

Was not very flavorful, too many noodles couldn't even enjoy the broth, if it was actually good. Bean sprouts were raw and hard in the spicy ramen. Came out very quickly but not worth it at all

First timer here. Came in for dinner. Clean little place with plenty of parking. You ordered your food before sitting. Service was quick. No greetings when you walk in however cashier did tell us what were popular dishes among customers when asked. I had the Tonkosu ramen mild level spice while she ordered the short ribs plate. Portion size was not bad. Broth and spice level was not bad. Wasn't too fond of the bamboo but overall the ramen was tasty and full filling. Galbi ribs plate was a bit sad with not much meat. Overall taste, per friend it was okay. Would come back to try other dishes if in the area.

This review isn't for the food, it's for the lazy cashier girl answering the phone on Fridays between 8:15-8:30. Three Fridays in a row, I was denied at least a $100+ order as I rush over there from Sac airport flying back in from SoCal. 3 weeks ago, I walked in to order take out at 8:45pm, the girl said their kitchen was closed. Okay. I leave and go to Panda across the street. Whatever. 2 weeks ago, I go out my way and call while I am driving at 8:20 to place an order. I said I could arrive there from Sac airport before 9 to pick it up and they said no, it would be too late. Today, I call at 8:29 to place an order and would arrive by 9:51 to pick it up based on my Waze, again, she says the kitchen closes at 8:45. Huh? If I called at 8:29 to place an order, would the kitchen be cooking it before 8:45 and all I needed to do was cook walk in at 8:51, pay and leave? Compete ditz. I just hung up cause Im sick of calling this place while I drive as I make a huge effort to rush out the plane, into my car in the garage so I could try to make it there and give them my money. See my phone screenshot as proof of my call. Anyways, the hours says 9pm closing. I've attempted to accommodate this business before 9pm 3 Fridays in a row. Whoever the owner is of this place, I hope sees this review and fires the girl answering the phone as well as the kitchen that denies business well before 9pm. If I was the owner, I'd be super upset that this staff of mine has denied orders and left money off the table for the past 3 Fridays to me. I'm only speaking for myself, imagine all the money lost with this staff denying business to others. I am no longer a customer from today on and will no longer bring all my sports teams to eat there after games. Complete shame. If your staff doesn't want to work past 8:30, close the doors at 8pm, even earlier than your "9pm" closing time.

Solid spot for a quick ramen fix if you're in the area and don't want to drive far, but it doesn't compare to the ramen spots downtown or in Folsom. The shop is small but nice, and the staff is friendly and efficient. You order up front, seat yourself, and they have a self-serve water station near the counter. I got the mild Tonkotsu Ramen (no bamboo). The broth had good flavor but wasn't very spicy at all. Noodles were well-cooked and bouncy. Not a fan of the raw bean sprouts, but they did add a nice crunch. The egg was a bit too cold and overboiled. I prefer it runnier. The chashu had good flavor but wasn't as tender as I'd like.

Very friendly service staff and a clean location. The prices are great and the food portion sizes are large. I found the chicken katsu to be flavorful, but just above average as the crust didn't have a lot of seasoning. I would recommend this place and I will definitely give them another shot the next time I'm in town.

Ramen 101 was an absolute joy! The ramen was scrumptious and the marble drinks were so cute!!! The chicken was second to none. Don't get me started on the eggs I could fill my mouth with many of them. The smoothie (not pictured) was both sweet and liquidy but not the bad kind, just liquidy enough. So refreshing! Happy birthday Drew!

    Tonkatsu ramen with fried garlic

Delicious Ramen! Pork was perfect! Tonkatsu is my go-to and this was great! The bowl was huge and I will be eating leftovers for dinner tonight. Lots of noodles, two egg halves, 2 tender slices of roasted pork which somehow had plenty of char yet melted in my mouth. They have an add on menu if you want even more toppings, but I was very satisfied with what was offered on the regular order: seaweed, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, fish cake slices, roast pork belly, and egg. I did add fried garlic and was pleasantly surprised by several whole cloves, not the crunchy chips I was expecting. You order at the counter and they bring it to you. Other menu items included chicken Karagi, rangoons, lumpia, and more, plus a lot of interesting looking drinks. This was my first time and I will definitely be back when I'm in the area. Yum!

It may sound a bit ambitious to do both Hawaiian BBQ and ramen, but this place knows how to do it. I got the black garlic ramen and they were very generous with the amount of garlic so my meal smelled divine. I originally wanted some Hawiian BBQ when I first saw this, but the ramen smelled so good I had to switch. If you want a combination, I recommend the chicken ramen. They use the Hawaiian BBQ chicken in the ramen, so you get amazing flavors from both. I went a bit safe on my choice with the garlic, but my friend made a great one with the chicken ramen. I need to go back to try their BBQ next time. The service is great as well. They were very friendly and speedy with our orders.

Gamsahamnida! Back…read moreagain, and the food and service continue to be great! The chicken katsu is still one of the best I've had--light, crispy, and perfectly crunchy on the outside, with juicy, tender chicken inside. Every visit has been consistently delicious, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I also tried the spicy pork again. It's a bit different from the Korean spicy pork I'm used to. Instead of the pork being marinated so the flavor is deeply infused, it seems to be grilled first and then coated with the sauce. While it's not the traditional style I expected, it's still flavorful and worth trying if you're open to a different take on the dish. In addition the chicken gangjeong dish that requires it to be "deep fried chicken" needs additional time to get crunchy like you would expect. I think the sauce may have made the crunch disappear. The consistency in both the food and the service is what keeps bringing me back. I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest of the menu. Other: -plenty of parking -bathroom inside -on hot days it's a little warm in the restuaruant *local family business*

The rice-to-filling ratio was perfect, and it tasted freshly rolled. If you're looking for Korean drinks, they've got those too, although the open table layout doesn't quite create the cozy pocha atmosphere. Overall, it's a great spot when you're craving a quick Korean fix. I'll definitely be back, mostly for the gimbap.

I would have never thought a Japanese restaurant was here. The inside was another story! The inside is decorated with all kinds of Japanese pictures and decor. You definitely felt like you were in a Japanese restaurant. The menu was impressive! Everything had pictures which is so amazing! It was just easier having an idea of what to pick based on looking at the pictures. There were all kinds of sushi rolls, bento boxes, noodles, appetizers and plates. We decided to get the ramen, salmon katsu, and tempura bowl. Food came our really quick. Portions were good and everything we tasted wonderful. It definitely satisfied our craving. The tempura was crispy. The ramen broth was rich and noodles nice and chewy. The bento box came with gyoza, salad, tempura, oranges, miso soup and rice. Service was great. They were attentive, and friendly. Eating with our littles ones is never easy and we appreciated how patient they were with us. We loved the food and hope to come back and try their sushi next!

This is exactly what I had experienced when I paid a visit to "Akira Sushi" Located directly on Greenback Lane and adjacent to Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights, this place opened its doors for business back in mid-2024. Since then, they have seen a very respectable amount of positive reviews. As I had previously mentioned, the exterior isn't much to look at as this is a fairly dated strip mall that hasn't received any updates in decades. And to those that remember, this is the same building that "Pho 54" occupied from 2013-2023. During my visit which was the afternoon of Sunday 8/3/2025 at around 5:15pm, I parked directly outside as there were no other cars here. Upon entry, there was one other customer finishing dinner. After being greeted and seated, I was given a menu complete with a cold glass of iced water. I will say that the interior of this place is quite impressive, cozy, and inviting. The distressed wooden tables paired up with the tan-colored walls and unique murals add an upscale look to the overall interior. On a packed evening, this place can comfortably seat around 50 guests. I will say that their menu is fully loaded with pure deliciousness. They offer a huge variety of traditional sushi rolls, custom rolls, Bento boxes, seafood tacos (available in tuna or salmon), Poke bowls, and even ramen for the colder days/evenings. And even a nice variety of beverages including soda, beer, wine, and sake. Since I was dining solo, I decided on the "Sunomomo Salad" which was a cucumber salad w/Ponzu sauce and Bonito flakes. My main dish was their "Napa Valley" roll which uses shrimp tempura, cucumbers, avocado, spicy aioli, unagi sauce, and topped with sesame seeds. My salad was brought out in less than 3 minutes while my sushi arrived just a few minutes later. I will say that everything was very fresh and delicious. The avocado had perfect consistency while the shrimp was made to perfection. In my humble opinion, this was an absolute gem of a roll. All in all, "Akira Sushi" is about as good as it gets for quality sushi in Citrus Heights. They have very respectable hours of operation being open 6 days a week; Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30am-2:30pm / 4:00-8:30pm with extended hours on Fri/Sat while being closed for business on Monday. Service was great as the young lady that waited on me was polite, courteous, and respectful. With a great atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonable prices, I am giving Akira Sushi a unanimous five-star rating.

There's just…read moresomething so so soothing and satisfying about this cuisine and something so communal and fun that I just can't get enough. When considering a hot pot restaurant, I think you have to look at two things the broth choices, and the selection of the signature proteins. A lot of places will try to convince you that you need to upgrade to the premium level to get access to the best of the best, but I am more appreciate places like this one that offer a ton at the low and medium level with only a few really choice select things added to the premium level Making the decision pretty easy. We opted for the mid tier which included several cuts of beef, lamb, pork chicken, as well as a lot of fun, add-ins, like fish balls, and tofu, skin, chrysanthemum greens, and more. For broth, I went with the Sichuan spicy medium heat level and frankly I probably could've dialed it up a little bit. As the broth evaporated did get hotter and hotter like it's supposed to and I did have a couple of reactions to the heat as it hit my sinuses, but other than that, it was deliciously tolerable. Now, while we upgraded to the midtier, my favorite cut of meat had to have been the spicy beef and the green chili chicken. Both of these had house marinades or dry seasonings on them that made the meat delicious and added it to the broth as well. But above all that the real shining star here has to be the service. The server was ever present in the most appropriate way possible quick to take an order, and the kitchen was even quicker to get that order to us. The restaurant was completely clean and we were never wanting for more than literally a second. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area if you live in the area and you haven't been, you are seriously missing out. Oh yeah and the shrimp balls are made in house and insanely good!

When we walked in, the place seemed a bit light on customers, and we were politely informed that the food might take longer than usual due to understaffing. We weren't necessarily in a rush, so we proceeded with ordering. To start, we had the Melting Albacore. It sounded similar to a dish we've had at another restaurant, so we just had to get it to compare. The presentation wasn't great. The daikon looked like it was just slapped on the plate with the sauce. Perhaps sauce in a ramekin on the side could help clean up the presentation. The fish quality was alright, and the crab mix was decent. It felt like maybe the sauce was actively there to cover up where some parts of the dish were lacking. Not a terrible dish overall, but I think it needs better execution. The two rolls we got were the North Star and Aspen. Both decent rolls, but the Aspen really shined (ironic given the other name) with punchier flavors from the lemon and jalapeños. Also, the torch helped to make all the flavors more cohesive. The North Star brought in a better assortment of fish, but similar to the Melting Albacore dish, I wasn't a huge fan of the fish quality. Will I come back here? Probably not, but I do have to give it to our server. She was so amicable that it was hard to really have a negative thought about the dining experience at the time. Also, I thought the dishes came out within a reasonable timeframe, even if they weren't understaffed.
