Both mild and spicy was not very spicy to me, so if you have a higher spice tolerance - recommend getting extra spicy Service was okay, a little slow but prob because they were busy. I am writing to share my deep disappointment regarding my recent dining experience with my family at your restaurant. Having visited multiple times in the past, I was very dissatisfied with the service we received today. After being seated, we waited over 15 minutes without anyone coming to our table. When I tried to wave for attention from the waitress wearing glasses, she looked at me and ignored us. In addition to the rude service, the overall pace was extremely slow, and we ended up waiting over 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Solid Thai spot in Folsom! Heard a lot of good things about Folsom Thai Cuisine so finally decided to check it out with my family on a Saturday around 8:20pm! It was close to closing time, so it wasn't too crowded. Ambiance was nice and I liked all the decor. We ordered family-style: Tom Kha Soup with veggies, Pad See Ew with tofu (medium spicy), and Curry Fried Noodles with tofu (Thai spicy) - all with vegan oyster sauce. Food was ready in about 15 minutes! Tom Kha Soup (5/5): Favorite of the night! The coconut flavor stood out and was very comforting. We forgot to pick a spice level but added some chili flakes after, and then it was pretty much perfect. There were a lot more mushrooms than other veggies, which was not a big deal. Generous portion size! Pad See Ew (4/5): Noodles and veggies were cooked well and had good flavor. It wasn't spicy at all, so we added some spice on the side. Could've used a bit more tofu and veggies, but still solid overall. Curry Fried Noodles (3/5): We ordered this one Thai hot (max spice) but it was actually a bit bland. Besides the curry powder, there wasn't much flavor until we added more spice on the side. Similar to the Pad See Ew, could've used more tofu and veggies, but everything was cooked nicely. My husband has been craving a specific type of dish that we loved at this other Thai place when we lived in Vacaville. I've been searching for a place that had something similar and FINALLY found it at this spot! We ordered the Crispy Chicken x 2, Spicy Fried Rice with Tofu, and Thai Tea x 2. The Crispy Chicken with the creamy citrus sauce was exactly what we've been looking for. The crisp and crunch of the chicken dipped in a citrus/lemon sauce - perfection! I also loved that it came with tempura vegetables instead of regular steamed vegetables. We also loved that we paired it with the spicy fried rice with tofu because it just made the whole meal come together! And to end it with a refreshing sip of Thai tea was the cherry on top. The prices were a bit on the high end for dishes like these but the taste and goodness of the food we ordered made it worth it! So I have gotten take out a couple of times since my review in 2021 and ordered the Pad Kee Mao both times. The dish is delicious but not as visually appealing for take out as it is when dining in. I recently dined in and my friend ordered a noodle dish and it was stunning and the fat noodles looked whole and not broken up which take out tends to look like. I decided to try something new since I wanted more veggies so I ordered the Pra Ram. This dish is various steamed vegetables topped with stir fried meat of your choice and creamy peanut sauce. At first the peanut sauce had a spice I wasn't sure I liked, but as I ate it I liked it more and more. I got the beef and was so glad I had because it was perfectly tender and tasted like high quality. The only part I did not like was that the veggies had a lot of water which pooled at the bottom of the plate and made the peanut sauce watery. I wish they would wait a minute before plating to avoid this. I like my noodles more and will probably stick to them in the future, but this dish was yummy. Most of the usual dishes are $17.99 or $18.99 BUT THEY DO NOT COME WITH RICE!! I guess this is a cost saving measure, but come on, their prices have doubled in the past 5 years!! Small little place right next to the Palladio, went with a few friends and we all enjoyed our time! The thai tea was great, pretty sweet but pretty much what you want out of a thai tea. I thought their fried tofu appetizer was lacking in crunch and flavor so I would skip that. However, their pad see ew was amazing! YELP Thank You Thursday I made reservations here at Folsom Thai Cuisine one week prior to our dinner. My phone call was answered promptly by a friendly employee and put me down on their calendar for Nov 12. Last Sunday our party of 12 met at the restaurant. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and our table was arranged near the cashier, not quite private but our table was apart from where they seated other guests. This way we were able to get up, mingle, and take photos without disturbing other diners. We placed our orders individually and shortly after our orders was being served one at a time until everyone got their food... everyone except us (me and hubby). We were the first ones to order and somehow our order was missed and we had to remind our server. We ordered Crab Fried Rice, Crispy Chicken and Garden Shrimp. Anyway, the most important thing was everyone in my group got their orders okay and they all seemed to enjoy the different dishes. The servers were helpful and attentive to our table. To be honest, I am not well versed on Thai cuisine. But I know what my tastebuds like and they like the food here at Folsom Thai Cuisine . Plus the owner and staff are absolute sweethearts. They have big smiles, fun personalities and do a darn job of taking care of their customers even with a full house. Plus the back kitchen kept up with all the various orders. I dined here on a Sunday night with a semi-rowdy group of 12. We ordered drinks, bottle of wine, appetizers, and entrees. We were well taken care of. The restaurant itself was very nice, with plenty of space and very friendly service. If you are a plus-size person with wide hips, the seats are not ideal. Our waitress was nice enough to grab me an alternative chair, which was ok, but not very comfortable. Here's what we ordered: Egg Rolls: 3/5, They were crispy and hot? However the inside were a bit on the mushy side. Curry Puffs: 5/5, These were FANTASTIC! They were hardy, flavorful and were served with a delicious sweet sauce with chopped cucumber, red onion and (I think) red peppers. This was the highlight of the meal for both of us. Yellow Curry, with beef: 2/5, The flavors were not my favorite and kind of clashed with the beef. I can't help but wonder if we had ordered with chicken if the taste would have been better. Pad Thai: 1/5, I was thrown off a bit at first by the fact that the noodles were not wide noodles. The part that really turned me off was that this is a sugary take on Pad Thai that I was not expecting and did not like. We tried the Tom yum soup not much inside just ground pork, chicken and fishball very simple but flavorful. We also had the crispy calamari- not liking the breading but it's crispy though. We had dinner there on Sunday, 12/21/25 while visiting Folsom. I ordered red curry with tofu - pictured below. Portion and flavor were decent. The bizarre and negative aspects of the meal involved our edamame appetizer and one of the staff members. The edamame didn't come with an extra bowl or plate for the shell discards as edamame normally does. So I (politely) asked this staff member for one; she was slightly more dressed up than the other servers and may have been an owner or manager. She looked at me like I was crazy, pointed to the plate of edamame, and explained to the effect of, "we put them [the shells] on the side." See photo of edamame. Say what?? Now, I acknowledge that there was a space on the plate to the left of the edamame. But to place the discards - after they had been in our mouths - on the SAME plate next to uneaten edamame is just gross. So I asked her again (also politely) for a separate dish for the discards. She seemed super annoyed and lifted my red curry off its saucer, exposing its doiley, and ordered us, "use this!" Okay, what just happened?!! We were pleasantly surprised by the duck curry, having never ordered it before. The pineapples gave a sweet flavor that blended well with the duck and curry. I've eaten here a few times before (mostly dine-in), and the food is usually either way too sweet or too salty, very inconsistent. I recently ordered a pad see ew with chicken for takeout and ended up paying nearly $21. There was a "service fee" of about $2.50 just for ordering online (which includes tax), so it's honestly better to call in and avoid that unnecessary charge. When I went to pick it up, the portion came in a small plastic container, definitely not worth the price. And even though I was asked about tipping through the online system when I was placing the order, they still tried to get me to tip in person at pickup. I'm not paying extra for a to-go order that already felt overpriced. For what you get, it's just not worth it. Probably won't be coming back. There are other Thai options in the area. read more
