This review is overdue, especially since our most recent visit was the third time I've visited and…read morenot had a good experience. This emergency hospital is closest to home so that's why we've tried it 3 times. That ended today though, we won't be back. I understand that for an emergency animal hospital acute issues are seen first. However, this location feels like the wait is forever when there's less than satisfactory communication from those working, especially from the front desk staff. Most people's pets are like family and when you have to bring them in for any type of emergency it's highly stressful for both owners and pet. I've made 3 visits here and had to wait for 30 minutes or more without being notified why and that is not okay. Feeling as if you've been forgotten while your pet is stressed, hurt or in pain is unacceptable. Sometimes all it takes is a check in to let people know they're still being attended to while waiting, and not forgotten. Today we arrived not knowing for sure if what my dog had vomited was blood or not (because we aren't trained professionals). We called before arriving to let them know we were on our way. There weren't any other pets waiting in the lobby when we arrived. The receptionist kindly checked us in, and it was quick because we had been there before. She brought paperwork over for us to verify info and sign. The first thing that I noticed is the age of my dog was wrong. This wouldn't be such a big deal if the prior two times that we had gone there, I brought it to their attention that the age of my dog was wrong. So that means they still hadn't fixed it since the last time we were there. A dog's age and weight are very important when it comes to administering any type of care. I let the receptionist know and she said she would fix. That was the last communication we had as we waited in the lobby for almost 40 minutes. People came out of the back with their animals. Other people arrived with their pets. Finally, because my dog was becoming very anxious, I decided to look up other emergency hospitals to see where else I could take her. I found one and we let the receptionist know we were leaving. They simply said okay, no questions asked and we walked out the door. I hope no other animal owners experience this type of service, lacking in compassion and care.

They gave her a shot for pain/inflammation and sent me home with meds for pain/inflammation. On follow up at our regular vet just looking at the x-rays on my phone, she could tell something was not right. I sent them the X-rays (the same ones taken at Animal Emergency Center of Killeen) and they were able to identify and show me three fractures in her foot as well as damage in her elbow and shoulder. I am very frustrated that so little care was taken with my pet at this clinic.

Dr Sam Seramur was his doctor and was very comforting and gave us plenty of time to be with him before and after the procedure. Brady never turned down food so when they brought in chicken, he gobbled it down and although it immediately came back up, he enjoyed that last meal. The tech who gently removed his body wrapped in blankets was so kind and it meant a lot when he said that he could tell we were good dog parents. I hope no one reading this has to ever go through this but if you do, I recommend this caring business .

When I mentioned that my dog was cold while we were in the waiting room, a technician brought him a blanket. The vet was kind when he came to talk to me about my dog and then later his test results. The medication the vet prescribed had my dog eating later that same day, and back to his regular self in a couple days. I am very grateful to the care the staff provided Rocky and me.

it's true: this place is not cheap. but the whole experience was exponentially better than any…read moreother vet care i've had in 20+ years of owning pets. the level of care and attention my dog and i received took some of the sting out of the bill. the staff was really excellent: professional and efficient but also relaxed and friendly. it was evident to me that the whole facility and process had been intentionally and thoughtfully designed to ensure that both owners and pets are well taken care of during a vulnerable and scary situation. i hope we don't have a reason to go back anytime soon, but it's reassuring to know they're there. a vastly better experience than the standard.

My sweet 2 year old cat, Chip, required a 48 hour stay, which was very emotionally tolling (and extremely expensive - get pet insurance BEFORE your pet gets sick! Heed my warning!!), but the staff here are simply incredible. They were patient, kind, informative, and very supportive. They let me visit him whenever I wanted, they helped me understand his condition, and I really appreciate the level of care they offered during such a stressful time.
