my salad 3

I LOVE salad works. Some days are better than others, but no matter what salad works always provides me with a well rounded, satisfying meal. The staff is always very friendly and I just love going there, it's one of my favorite spots to eat in Galloway!

"large soup" costs $6.40 - a little too pricey for small amount of soup
Nick D.

Price of large soup went up to $6.99 or $7.45 with tax. Ridiculously expensive for soup that's subpar. Go somewhere else. Used to come here often, but will not be returning after their grand re-opening, Nov 8, 2017. The prices were increased, making the price of soup $6.40 for not such a large container. Proteins for the salads are $1.89 each (chicken, ham, tuna, turkey). Dry toppings are an additional $.99 each (croutons, glazed pecans). All sandwiches start at $8.99. I think they got carried away with the prices after doing a minor renovation. If you get a small fountain drink and a salad, you'll be paying over $12. Too much for a small salad and drink. Add a small soup and you'll have to fork over nearly $16.00!

a counter top with a microwave and paper towels on it

My first visit here today. The lettuce looked a bit dry and old. The salad itself I had was good. Served with a roll and butter for $11.29. Looking around I noticed the floor needed sweeping and the tables all needed wiping they were dirty. The salad prep area floor was a mess and the windows were dirty. The napkins all laid out messy on condiment counter and not in a holder. Didnt strike me as too clean. Might give it one more try. Hoping maybe they were just really busy before I arrived. Im thinking management could do a better job at overall managing of the place.

Custom salad

I'm a huge fan of Saladworks. There is such a variety of toppings to choose from. I always get a custom salad and make my own. Everything always tastes really fresh there. This salad has iceberg and romaine lettuce, pasta, fresh mozzarella cheese, bacon, chicken, turkey, and ham with ranch dressing- a meat lover's paradise! The portions are huge and I love the dishes they come in. I really like how you get to pick 5 toppings with the custom salads and they don't charge extra for the proteins. The salads come with a nice roll as well.

$16.30 for a Salad and Large Soup

First, I want to start off by saying that I don't mind spending $ for quality. I'm so upset right now, I can't even eat the slop that was given to me. I have been a customer here for many years. And Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe how I feel. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad and Large Soup to go. When I ordered the Salad. The visibly agitated server said there was no Buffalo Chicken. One of the other servers said hot sauce. The Server said oh..never mind.... then proceeded to take a tablespoon size of plain Chicken plop it on my Salad. Then took hot sauce and poured it on the Chicken and Salad. As you can see in the picture, I posted, not a good mix if it's not mixed in with the Chicken. Given the choice I would've chose another Salad. And then I was rushed through the line like Cattle. When I got to the Cashier. He informed me there were no rolls ready. And if I'd like Chips instead. $16.30 for a meal totally not worth the money. Absolutely Horrible Experience! Don't waste your money!

Almost 7 bucks for soup? No way it's worth it after the price increase.

So the price of soup must have gone up since last time I was here...Now it's $6.99 plus tax, bringing the total $7.45 for a bowl of soup. $7.45 for soup!?! It's soup from a counter service chain. Most restaurants don't even charge that. No way I'm coming back with these prices.

Cranberry/crangrape (I'm allergic to cranberries) so I know I didn't ask for those....

The manager has done his best above and beyond to save a relationship between store and customer I stopped in lastnught for a free replacement salad it was the best I've ever had stopped today because he offered a $10 gift card...got another chicken bacon egg ceasar salad...it was good the first few bites till i noticed what I thought to be a cranberry/crangrape and smashed it up and it was..I'm allergic to cranberries and had to throw the rest of my salad out:( I appreciate the effort to keep a patron but please make sure employees are more careful what goes into salads if I hadn't noticed that, I'm not sure how it would've ended..

Saladworks in Galloway is one of my go-to spots. I have consistently gotten really delicious salads every single time! I love that the staff is super friendly and are really receptive to your request such as subbing out ingredients. During lunch time Saladworks is always packed and it's honestly a great atmosphere to enjoy a nice salad. I always get the Cobb salad with green goddess dressing! It's the best!

Since we are talking about five years since my last review I am guessing the "leave them alone so that they can talk" philosophy of restaurant service is an institutional policy. Frankly, the service was better than the 2017 review but please we should not have to leave the table and walk into another area of the restaurant to find our server to ask to have our water glasses refilled. And, the kid from the land of the dead whom I at first thought was a customer lost attempting to find his parents was actually an employee. Someone at my table suggested I ask him for a refill of the water as he slowly walked by in a half stupor but I said "If he worked here he'd at least remove the completed soup bowls from our table (They remained until the entire meal was finished.)." I discovered later when he returned to clean a table top that he actually was an employee who might have been trained to notice diners in need of water or he could have actually said "Good evening, I have noticed your water glasses have nothing in them ... might I refill them for you?" But, then again perhaps its institutional policy. Having gotten that out of the way I have to say I was very impressed by the new entranceway, which replaced the old wooden railings that I remember front he splinters in my hand. It is a very attractive entrance and as always, noted in my prior review, you are greeted warmly and feel very welcome as you walk into this very attractive restaurant. The menu has changed since we were last here. We all agreed that it appears to have been reduced in offerings and in variety but that did not stop us from finding something. Clearly when you see the four stars and if you have reached this point of the review you have noted negatives but yet 4 stars. The food is delicious and well conceived! We didn't get anything extravagant but the French Onion Soup was truly special both visually and more importantly its blend of flavors along with the nice presence of perfectly cooked onions made those who ordered the soup very happy campers (Ok,, that's a phrase ... we are not camping out in the winter.). The sandwich was accompanied by some of the best "chips" we have ever had (All too often restaurants in their attempt to save money rather than offering French fries created chips that are burnt, overly salted or otherwise inedible.) and we all were reaching over to make sure not a speck was left. I ordered the Sweet Chili Signature Chicken Salad (Romanelli's has always been known for their awesome salads!), which was perfect for me but .... If you don't like Asian-style chili garlic sauce be forewarned that this salad's going to do more than tingle your tongue ... you are going to need water to cool it down and you already read about the lack of water refills. The chicken was perfectly cooked ... the croutons had me searching for more, and the blend of flavors made this a fantastic filling meal but .... As we left and I talked about the "heat" of my salad someone asked "Where was the bread or the rolls with dinner?" Where indeed was the bread basket that one used to receive as a guest at Romanelli's? Yes, COVID and increased costs have forced restaurants to save dollars wherever they could but we had folks with soup and me with a salad so a small dinner roll or a nice piece of bread would have been perfect but alas no bread. The menu features all those fabulous omelettes that make Romanelli's a great stop for breakfast (I wonder if you get toast or coffee refills.)! And, I am sure we will be back but next time I might ask that the water pitcher be left on the table when ordering so that the server will realize that many people need more than one glass of water with their meal especially if the water is their choice of beverage for the evening, afternoon, or morning.
