As 2025 passed and there was no permit, and no start date in sight, and on top of that the contractor was less than trust worthy I approached Fergusons to explain the problem: there was no ADU, there was no permit, certainly not in 2025. Fergusons without hesitation refunded me the total $ amount. We were floored. WHAT customer service, WHAT integrity, WHAT goodness walks the floor of this showroom and the management. The crews arrive every day at 7:00 a.m. and often stay well past 7:00 p.m. 11 hour day minimum. Most respectful contractors who start that early wrap up by mid to late afternoon -- especially on Fridays. The day I wrote this, (Friday) they were here over 12 hours. What's most frustrating is the lack of respect for the immediate neighbors. We've politely asked multiple times for them to be more mindful of the noise and late hours, but nothing has changed. In addition to the excessive construction noise, workers regularly encroach onto neighboring properties, toss materials into adjacent yards, and even bring a dog that urinates/defecates on neighboring lawns without cleaning up after it. Worker just hangs out at worksite well after work hours (11 hours+) walks his dog and acts as if he lives here. He doesn't. This company continues to show little regard for the neighbors living here. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are far more professional and considerate construction companies out there. And if this company's sign appears in your neighborhood, be prepared for extended workdays and no consideration. For those seeking contractor recommendations, there are several reputable companies that maintain reasonable working hours and demonstrate greater consideration for nearby residents throughout the construction process. Just hit me up I know a few great ones I can recommend. SKIP this one. UPDATE 6/20: Did I mention they work holidays AND weekends, so if you are hoping for a reprieve and enjoy outside time, think again! They just primed over it and repainted until I was happy. And when I changed from painting to rag painting the walls instead... I was stunned to realized how talented his crew was. They did a better job of ragging than I did some 19 years ago. LOL His crew spent so much time prepping my home for paint. They arrived early and one of them usually left after 6pm when he made sure the cleanup was complete. With the prepping, windows covered in plastic. Nested birdhouses removed a safe distance. Cams safely covered. Etc. They did so much more than even I would have (and I'm pretty picky!) This is just an example of the detailed care Shaun and his amazing crew did for my project: They had taken down one of my cams (and covered 2 others) prior to painting. The main wonderful person had taken photos of literally everything on/around our home, prior to starting my project. Then later yesterday, using those same pictures to guide him in putting things back. And look how he used his picture to aim one of my cams perfectly!! Two other cams got tweaked during covering them. But due to his pictures... he re-adjusted them all perfectly!! And he replaced my porch artwork perfectly! I move to Cayucos 3 years ago and my house was newer than most so I thought I was in great shape when it came to home remodeling or repair... and not needing much of it. HA! Turns out, we needed to replace a few doors and windows because last year's storm tested the limits of waterproofing. Ever since I moved to Cayucos I have always seen General Contract O'Shea's signs up, his great exterior work, and his green truck all around at different home remodel sites, bathroom remodel, kitchen remodel, deck remodel, etc... You get the idea, he does a ton of work around town. So we call Shaun and ask him to take a look at the project. He is a very nice person, took time to explain what the process would look like, and then gave us a few contacts where we should go look at doors and windows. Fast forward 8 weeks after the door and window project was almost done we found wood rot... and a lot of it! Shaun and his team found deck dry rot, railing issues, unsafe areas, and found the reason that a lower window was having issues opening and closing (a lot of wood was rotten). While away at work he sent me videos and picture to explain what was going on. We had calls every couple of days to stay on the same about the deck remodel, door and window replacement, and the stucco work that is now being done. His prices is very fair. His crew are some of the nicest and competent people you will meet. Everyone is very polite and trustworthy. My wife and I are really appreciate his work. - We are not yet done with the project so I will post some finish photos but for now I can post some of the demo...

Disaster. I would like to give than less than one star. The demo team came in and did a nice job,…read morebut they overcharged me for the demo. A refund was not offered until I complained. Next, the guy came to measure. He told me that my countertop was not wide enough for the granite backsplash that we paid for. That turned out to be wrong. There was room. Then the guys came to install the countertops. They cracked one of them because they used an aluminum level instead of a proper brace to support it during installation. They patched the crack, but it still has a crack in it. The other separate section of countertop was dull and all scratched up. Terrible. I told them to remove it, fix it, and bring it back. They did nothing. Finally I had to convince them to "refurbish" it. This should have been done before they brought it. They were paid $499 to install my plumbing and disposal. They arrived, and decided not to do it after they had been paid. In addition, they left a terrible mess in my yard that took me over an hour to clean up. The "additional" charges they list for services related to granite installation are highway robbery. It was truly a horrible experience, and it didn't have to be that way. I will never do business with them again.

I contacted them because all their reviews were so positive. I have a 3,200 Sq ft attic that has been a hotel to my numerous feral cats/kittens and a few opossums and raccoons for 15 yrs now! They destroyed all the insulation and the heating/air ducting You ask how did this happen, well if you have ever dealt with a large group of feral cats that breed like rabbits, it becomes overwhelming very quickly especially when you don't even know they are up there! Well, we are finally down to two cats living up there so we knew IT WAS TIME TO GET THE ATTIC CLEANED UP, NEW INSULATION AND DUCTING AND THEN CLOSE IT UP FINALLY! I called three contractors expecting them all to turn down the job and I couldn't blame them if they did! Fortunately, SCI - Simons Const was the first company I called. Ryan answered the phone and said he would be out the next da1y to look at it. He went up into the attic and when he came back down he said YES, they would do the job and he explained in full detail to me what they needed to do and how they were going to do it! He also sent me a detailed bid THAT NIGHT and explained a lot of things can come up once it's cleaned up like wiring and structural issues. Obviously these would be added costs but I was informed by Don, who was amazing and worked like a supervisor along with all the crew, every step of the way if they saw anything that was a concern! I could never say enough GOOD THINGS ABOUT DON!!! He always kept me informed what they were doing, when they would be here and he always made sure they were not interrupting my daily activities! He always kept Ryan in touch of what was going on and then Ryan would call or text me too to make sure I knew what was going on! I tell you, THESE GUYS ARE ON IT and SO EASY TO WORK WITH!!! They also had to keep in touch with my heating/air Co, the insulation Co and my roofers because they had to cut holes in my roof to take out all the old insulation and ducting so we could put in the new stuff! Ryan suggested putting together a group text with everyone's numbers so that EVERYONE KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON AND WHEN, IT KEPT THE PROJECT RUNNING SMOOTHLY AND ON TIME ​The entire project only took 1 month but it felt like it was just a couple of weeks because everyone was so efficient and fortunately there were no unforseen issues I could go on forever about SCI - Simons Const, Ryan, Don and the wonderful crew but all you really need to know is THEY ARE THE BEST at least from my experience in every way!!! So easy to work with, honest reliable and they REALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND THEIR WORK SPEAKS FOR ITSELF!
