    Rego Park

DSW in Rego Park was always a must visit. We loved to spend the day shopping in Rego Park and…read morehaving lunch. I spent a lot of money on shoes, mostly Winter boots. If I needed dressy shoes or sandals this was my DSW. I found that the supply of sizes was better than in Manhattan. After shopping here my daughter joined their rewards. She gets a birthday reward every year. She is a DSW VIP! If you could see her shoe collection you would know why! I'm recommending.

I was SO sad when the DSW at the Queens Place Mall closed. For a year I had to either trek to the…read moreone at Gateway Mall or Union Square. When I saw the sign a few months ago that DSW was coming to Rego Center, I almost did a dance right then and there. Came here for the first time on Sunday. Firstly, its much bigger and sleeker than the DSW that was in Queens Place. So bright and spacious. Spotless and well put together. I hope as time goes on it stays that way. When you go in they have this huge machine that measures your feet to see what size and make suits you best. Everyone was looking at it but no one was trying it. I think I'll try it next time. Just wondering if you need to be barefoot to use it. If so, then I'll pass. The selection at DSW has always been amazing. Any kind of shoe products for men, women and kids. Other non-shoe items like socks, purses, accessories, beauty items, etc. I usually just go straight to the back to browse the clearance section. Not only does DSW normally have good prices for shoes, the clearance section is where its at! I got a pair of Adidas in the clearance sections that was marked as $65. The clearance price was 50% off. That's a steal! Plus, with my DSW member rewards, I had $15 off. I wound up paying $20. Can't go wrong there. The line was pretty long and they only had 2 people working the registers. That made the wait a little long. The shoes I bought were green suede/leather. They have this new machine that sprays protectant on your shoes when they're placed in there.. Keeps dirt off. Protects from water damage, etc. It costs $8.99. I hardly paid anything for my shoes so I decided to try it. Takes about a minute. The shoes are a tad damp afteward, but it dries quickly. So far they are looking good! Thank you, DSW, for reopening so close again. My wallet and feet thank you!

This is an expensive place to shop but there are prices on n the low end. it's a comfort shoe place and if you want comfortable shoes, well you know, this is the place for it. I love to engage sales associate to see what level they are on. There's levels to sales and there's a developed skill for persuasion for closing a sales/getting a customer to buy or walk out empty handed or to make an actual purchase, one or more shoes. Sometimes it's the customer that knows whether they are buying or walking. Let me explain, briefly! A cordial greeting and offering assistance is key. You have to break the ice. I used to work for Bostonian/ Clark and Bakers Shoes. They had beautiful boots for women. Anyway- I greeted and broke the ice. The person said that they didn't have money to buy. Reading the potential customer - they were staring at the boots for about 5 minutes. I told her, it doesn't cost money to try on a pair of boots. Conclusion, she waked out, boots in hand. Commission sales mind you! On today 1/28/26 one sales rep greeted and broke the ice but did a relay to his associate. So I picked out the shoes that wanted to try. Levels - the customer comes in with one shoe in mind the sales rep should bring other styles close to desired shoe or another color. So I picked the shoes and made his job easy, very easy. One thing he did that I loved, he serviced me giving undivided attention and assisted me with putting on casual socks and help me put on the shoes. I had dress socks on and it gives a different fit. CONCLUSIONS-I walked out with multiple boots in hand. I basically sold myself the boots and scored $10 percent off. There are areas of improvements - if you greet the customer, seat the customer don't pass them off to someone else. Pro tip- aleays ask if there's a promotional sale. In my case. The promo was advertised. I'm a happy camper today willing to.... Inspire more, Yelp more!
