These women do amazing work from bags to shoes and even clothing. They are a gem in the community and I will be a forever customer.

I HAD TO CALL THE COPS ON THIS LADY!!!!! BEWARE ... Giving this place even one star pains me as it is far too generous for the type of person the owner is. Walk with me here. This may be lengthy but if I can save just one person from going here then I have done my job. So my gripe with this lady actually began nearly 1 month ago when I went to drop off my black leather boots. She told me she'd do a perfect amazing job and charged me $70 which I thought was overpriced AF but I was willing to make the investment as my boots are genuine leather etc. She told me it will take a week. COOL that's fine. A week goes by and its radio silent. 2 weeks go by. Still quiet. Then I make the mistake of reading the reviews where it said she doesn't answer the phone. I call this place no joke 45 times, not one answer. So now I have to take time out of my day to pass by TO SEE if theyre ready. So I go and OFC they're not ready. I demand my shoes back because now she has pissed me off. However, she is kinda apologetic and she promises it will be ready by Sunday and if not Sunday DEFF by Monday. I tell her I get out of work late and by the time I get to her it will be around 6:30 PM Monday. She says I'm here til 11 PM every day no problem! She takes down my number. Sunday rolls around and OFC she does not keep her word. No call. Monday comes around , nothing. So I drive by on monday and the establishment is CLOSED! CUTE! Tuesday no word. I now have to take time out of my day to physically pass by and see if they are ready as if I don't have a job and other responsibilities. Now Wednesday is when s*** hits the fan. I pass by wednesday and she says to me "black boots right?" Great, it seems as if she knows what she's talking about and I anticipate everything going smoothly. She proceeds to hand me a plastic bag with a size 8.5 black boot that are very obviously not mine and the brand is ZARA. (I am a size 7 and no shade why would I bring ZARA boots to the shoe repair?). I kindly tell her that these are not my shoes. Bc theyre very obviously not. Instead of saying let me look into this or having any sort of normal reaction she begins SCREAMING at me. Like actually raising her voice, fingers in my face saying things along the lines of these are the only black boots i have in the store, these are YOUR shoes, this is not my problem, you are a liar etc. I tell her to lower her voice and request that we speak like adults. I soon find out she is incapable of this request. I tell her I am not paying for shoes that are not mine and this really sets her off. She then tries to tell me that I am a thief, cheap, this was my master plan all along, tries to make it about her having an accent (?) and that God is always watching and to give the money I'm stealing from her to a homeless man (??) and tells me to take my shoes and leave. After screaming at each other back and forth for nearly 10 mins while customers are onlooking, She is successful in gaslighting me bc I actually leave with the shoes. However, I quickly turn around and return to the store because these are simply not my shoes. This time, I try a new approach because at the end of the day I just want my shoes. I say look I am not trying to fight but where are my shoes? These shoes are 2 sizes too big and I just don't have any use for them? Since she has no emotional regulation , she begins screaming at me again saying that this is NOT her problem and demands that I leave. At this point I am so beyond annoyed and frustrated. I call my dad bc I simply never been in a situation like this before and he can hear her screaming at me through the phone and is even like WTF. So I said MISS THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM. And called the police which I truthfully really did not want to do but I had no choice. I began describing her features to the operator on the line.and they said police will be dispatched. She then collects her sharp items (?) a goes to get a coffee (?????) Odd. She returns though, and I have now been waiting outside her store for 20 mins waiting for police arrival.Mind you I have somewhere to be in an hour. As I am waiting, she VERY politely invites me inside. I knew something was fishy. She then says she "does not want to argue with me" and she "wants to talk like adults"- the very same line I used on her 45 mins ago! She hands me a pen and paper and asks me to describe my boots in great detail (?). While I am doing her assignment because again I just want my shoes, she opens a curtain to reveal MY SHOES. I was so gobsmacked at this point not only at the fact that I was right all along, but the fact that her energy had a complete 180 after she realized she messed up bad and making matters worse, she tried to Kii with me after , saying things like "you want to know whats funny" and 'please forgive me" etc. AND NOT ONE APOLOGY TO TOP IT OFF. Brought my knee length jacket with a broken zipper here for repair. Pricing seemed high, but very fair for NY in general. Stella and her father were very kind, she went out of her way to manhattan to get a double zipper (so it didn't break from the bottom again) so I didn't have to wait for the zipper to arrive via shipping. She was able to finish it in 3 days and looks great! She even sewed a hole in the pocket for free. Getting more and more fed up with this place lately, but have mixed feelings . Left a couple of pairs of shoes to have taps put on. Usually, that's a "while you wait" repair. Three hours later I return and they aren't ready. They need a half hour more. Why? Then I learn that the cost of the taps that was $12 a couple of months ago is now $26. It's no longer worth the parking hassles to patronize this place. I don't blame the father who does excellent work. It's the daughter who seems to have no realistic understanding of how long repairs will take and makes promises that are unrealistic. If it's going to take a month don't say they'll be ready in 3 days, say a month! I've had soles replaced on boots and the repair took 4 times as long as she said. But the quality of the materials and material were exceptional. If you use them multiply when you are told they will be ready by 4 and you'll get a more accurate estimate. Or, if you're lucky, you'll be there on the rare occasion that the mature man is there alone and you can have a nice conversation with him and get a realistic idea of the repair costs and time it will take. read more

I love this shoe repair business. I think the man is passionate about his business. He has helped me on many occasions. When I started to work as a Flight Attendant, my puppy dog was not too happy about me leaving as often as I did. I remember coming home one afternoon, kicking off my shoes, and getting out of the uniform. I left the shoes, by my door. A few hours latter, I discovered my dog chewed part of the heel. Very strange, because even as a puppy he never did that, not once. The shoes very BCBG and $$ for uniform shoes. The heel shape is unique. The first place, I went to, suggested changes the heel entirely. But the heel shape, made the shoe. So, I didn't want to do that. Then the 1st shoe repair man, told me he will not be able to fix them. :( I found Phillips Shoe Repair. He laughed when he saw the condition of the shoe heel. But he assured me, he would be able to fix it. One week latter, I picked the shoes up, and they were prefect. I've taken my boots, and other heels there. He always polishes the shoes so nicely. Phillips used to be a pretty good place for shoe repairs. It was reasonable, they did nice work, their turnaround time was as expected. In the last few years they have slid dramatically. They take on way too much work, they don't write anything down, they don't return things when they promise they will, they do work you didn't ask for, and they don't do the work that you did. I've had a couple of marginal experiences over the last few years, but after this last one, I will never return. Bring your shoes here at your own risk. read more

My uggs were messed up from the snow and also needed to get sewn in also. The first two pics of the uggs are the before and the last two are the after. Pics dont do justice of how they really look. Will be going to them for my other uggs cleaning. She gave me good advice to clean them with water when snow falls on them. Salt messed them up and she tried her best. read more

Accidentally ripped my ugg boot about 2 weeks ago and looked on yelp to find a trusted place near queens. Called ahead and asked if they repaired tears on uggs and the lady who answered said they did. An hour later I dropped off my boot and was quoted a price of $15 dollars for a HUGE rip in my boot :'(. Boot was repaired the same day but I had some errands to run so I ended up picking up the next day (sunday). Parking around the area sucked but when I did find a spot I spoke to the older gentleman and he showed me my boot. The boot didnt even look ripped, they used the same thread color of the boot which was great. You can tell this place is legit, this will be my new go-to for shoe repairs. 100% recommend. Told me no one else would take the shoe to fix (they are peep toe heels that the side from the front came out just a bit) and demanded I pay upfront. I rarely ever use Yelp, but I had an exceptionally poor experience at Phillips Shoe repair. I dropped of my shoes on a Friday and the woman said they would be ready next week. I called on Tuesday just to see if they had an idea of when they would be ready. The woman said they would be ready by Thursday evening. So, I went on Saturday and the shoes were not ready (they were actually still in the basement of the store!). She said "I am so sorry, they will definitely be ready by tonight." So i came back the next day and guess what... they still haven't touched the shoes. So, I asked for the shoes and my deposit back,which they did, but they threw an absolute fit, like I was the one that was wrong. I am impressed with the craftsmanship and the work they do with their pair of skillful hands. I only have an issue with their attitude and customer service. I was told to return the next day for an alteration work on a belt but the work wasn't completed by the end of day that I was promised I would get my belt back. I understand a business can be busy and inundated and stuff, but what I think is problematic is their attitude; the staff who handled my business didn't seem to think there's a problem with not being able to keep her word, and there's no apology whatsoever. Excellent service! When I first called to see if they were open the woman picked up and was very sweet on the phone and in person. As well as the man who owns the store. I had a 7:30 appointment and I told them I would pick it up a little before that time and she called me at 7 and said all of my boots and shoes were ready. In addition to being a shoe repair shop, they also do custom sewing and alterations. A nice young lady by the name of Stella helped me out with my coat. My pockets were falling apart. I had them fixed a few years ago, and I knew that they wouldn't last - it seemed like a patch-job. Stella made all new pockets for me (to my specifications), and you wouldn't know that they weren't the originals. She said that it would be done in a day, but called me within three hours to say that it was done all ready. A week later I broke out a backpack that I hadn't used in a while. The zipper was broken. I brought to the shop (on a Sunday, yes they're open on Sunday) where she fixed it while I waited, even though she was working on something else. I went to them for their sewing and alterations service. I passed them a pair of pants which needs to be altered. I was disappointed when I could not collect my pants on the agreed date. I wasted my time rushing to the store as the staff did not bother contacting me to inform me that there was a delay. Eventually, when I finally collected my pants, it was not altered according to what we have agreed upon. Only a simple hemming was done but I was still charged the additional prices. I was hesitant at first because I had never brought my shoes to a shoe repair shop before, and all 3 pairs were very expensive but in bad shape. I figured why not give it a shot and I'm so glad I did. First of all, their pricing is very reasonable. I brought in about $600 worth of shoes and my total was less than $100. I got heels replaced, leather repaired, and all shoes buffed and shined and they all look like brand new! Definitely worth it for the price. In addition, the woman who works there is very friendly and honest. It took some time for my shoes to be done, but that was to be expected since it was during the holidays. But she was honest with me and said it would take about two weeks, which I agreed to and I am SO glad I did. Definitely better than spending money on new shoes! If Yelp offered the option to give zero stars or negative stars, this is what I would give this business. I am new to the neighborhood and was (now, still am) in need of a new shoe shine place. I dropped my shoes off this afternoon at 2:30pm to be shined and waterproofed, and asked if there was any chance I could pick them up the same day. The young lady who works at the store told me that wasn't a problem (they did not appear to be particularly busy) and my shoes would be ready by 5pm. Low and behold, when I walked in there at 7pm, they were looking at me like deer in the headlight. They simply had forgotten to shine my shoes. Then, without much of an apology, they attempted to persuade me to wait for them to do the work. I told them that I'd prefer to get my money back, as I was in no position to wait around (I have a 4 month old baby and don't have much time on my hands). That aside, the store smells like an ashtray (the owner probably is a heavy smoker). Instead of just apologizing and returning my money, they insisted that they do the work while I wait, and only after I insisted, they finally refunded my money.
