Chips with salsa and bad queso
    Joe K.

Well, we were looking for good Mexican food. We were told by someone that this place has great food with unlimited chips with salsa and queso. Well, unfortunately, the experience wasn't what we were hoping for. After being seated, our server brought chips with salsa and queso, and took our drink order. The chips were fine. I couldn't find anything wrong with them. The salsa was also just okay. Unfortunately, the queso was a big disappointment. The color was kind of off, it was watery, and tasted like it was microwaved. I commented to my coworker that microwaved Velveeta cheese tasted better, and that's not saying much. As I was with my coworker, we shared a couple of appetizers. I ordered the guacamole dip and also the brisket taquitos. I love, love, love avocados and guacamole. I think it's just about the perfect food. But, here's the big "but," the guacamole here was disappointingly tasteless. I never leave any guacamole behind, but we left more than half of it behind. The brisket taquitos appetizer was the only thing that we ordered, that was phenomenal. I should have just ordered another one for my meal. It comes with an avocado mixed with tomatoes and beans (not very tasty), queso (different than what came with the chips and was very tasty), and another sauce that was actually good. My coworker and I both agreed that this was the best item that we ordered. I ordered the Shrimp Veracruz with flour tortillas and cheese on the side. I was hoping that it would be at least as good as the brisket taquitos. Unfortunately, my plate was covered with cheese on top and not put on the side like I requested. I had to push all of the cheese to the side of my plate. The shrimp was prepared fine and seasoned well, but the rest of the plate was just blah. At this point, disappointment set in and stayed. I just ate the shrimp, dipped the tortillas into the queso that came with the brisket taquitos. Everything else on my plate was pretty much uneaten. If I had to rate the service and the brisket taquitos, then Salas would have scored a 4 at least. Unfortunately, the other items that we ordered, brought the score down. Maybe it was an off day for the kitchen. I hope it was, because this place showed a lot of promise when we first walked in.

Gave this place a 3 as it was really just ok. Food wasn't bad but service was a little bit iffy. We came here for lunch yesterday and we're seated right away. We were served chips and salsa fairly quick but then our waitress who was pleasant became MIA- chip dish empty and she was nowhere to be found. Food came out and we were able to re-up on the chips but the fact that she was no where to be found prior to left me with an average of 3 for the restaurant. I'd come here again- but there are better Mexican restaurants in the area.

I've posted before. I mentioned how much I like their chicken off taco dinner. Beyond yummy. I like their basic acid. Fajitas. The only thing I don't like are their enchiladas. For me, they tend to be dry That said, I found two new thingsngs today. to love! Fried pickles Sopapillas. Ive never had either, though I'm sure I've had their dessert eons ago However, not the pickles It's hard to find either of these cooked core toy anywhere!! Usually the sopapillas are thick and you need a knife to cut the bread...and the pickles, while delicious, are usually only good while hot as they cool off they get soggy because the pickle is thin and can't hold it's own against the batyer Here, their sopapillas are thinly crisp on the top, spinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Puffy, with a slightly thicker bottom, you can easily orick the top to add honey if your like. And you can cut them with a fork. The pickled. Dill pickles are thick cut in round, solid pieces. They are then dipped in a, I'm betting flour corn meal mix? The are very dill-y. But the breading dilutes that just enough to give you a delicious bite. It comes with ranch. My new favorite fried pickle that runs neck in neck with back porch

Love the bar area and restaurant atmosphere. The staff is always accommodating and so sweet. Great place for big parties too. Their salmon is my favorite. Funny for a Mexican restaurant to have such good salmon but it's a must try.

One of the better experiences I've had. The easygoing and attentive staff, and relaxed casual atmosphere changed my perspective and take out plans. Instead I dined in, had a few Amber XX beers, and enjoyed watching the game at the bar. The food was good and the service very good. The atmosphere was excellent.

MARGARITAS This is by far my favorite restaurant in Lawton. I go here almost once a week. The bartenders are amazing, I love the mega margs. They chips and salsa and quesso are amazing. I like that their salsa is actually spicy. My favorite is the steak enchiladas, I get them almost every time. Their fried burrito is good as well as the bacon wrapped shrimp. The wait staff is very nice and attentive. Military discounts as well!

    Fried Avocado and Beef Chimichanga

Our service was fast and amazing! Our server CJ was very attentive and kind and gave good suggestions! They have homemade chips and salsa that we could not stop eating! They serve free cheese dip but it was subpar and a little bit watered down in a way. I ordered the street tacos with beef and was very satisfied! Exactly what I was craving! The taco salad was pretty regular and did not have a lot of spice. Another one from our party ordered the fried avocado and a chimichanga, the avocado was delicious and the chimichanga was full of cheese, both very satisfying. We also got frozen margaritas that were also good. Pretty strong in my opinion! For dessert we had sopapillas with honey and they were the best ones I have ever ordered from a restaurant. I also recommend asking for the inferno salsa, it's not as spicy as expected but still very tasty! Thank you for a good meal!!

The salad here is great. You do sort of have to assemble it yourself but the end product is one of the simple salads you'll eat.

Yuk. Greasy chips, gelatinous queso and cold tortilla soup. Avoid. Taco edible. Slower service. Not much else to say.

This place was packed almost every table was full. We were immediately greeted, seated and brought chips, salsa and our drink order was taken. I ordered the pork tamales with rice and beans and my other party ordered a chicken quesadilla. Our server was the owner and he brought us another round of chips salsa and topped off our water and ice tea. Then our meal arrived shortly afterwards. The pork tamales were freshly made and full of lightly seasoned pork drizzled with red sauce. So good. The rice was very light with a hint of garlic and chicken broth flavoring. It was fluffy and seasoned perfectly. Refried beans were very thin not the heavy kind with a white cheese melted over them. This plate was exceptional and I would definitely order again. After briefly chatting again with the owner I let him know that I we were regulars at the Wichita Falls location near shepherds Air Force Base, which happened to be where his brother was working. We had no idea they had this location in Lawton Oklahoma. We will definitely be back next time we are through on business. These are some hard-working individuals at both locations. You will not be disappointed. The food is exceptional. It's probably some of the best Mexican food I have had the pleasure of eating in years.

My husband went in and ordered it until to make sure to put extra lettuce in it because most places when you order a taco salad it's all toppings and no lettuce. This was one of the best taco salads I've had he got chicken on top. The chicken was very tasty. The lettuce was good and all of the toppings were really tasty as well and I forgot how good their salsa and cheese dips are. But my main complaint before was simply that they did not do Carrie out very well at all, but evidently that's changed which I was very pleased with. Of course this is totally different from what I've ordered in the past still though the service was great. Steve had no problems with it and if you've never been there, it's got a really nice ambience. It's a nice place to go and sit down. Frankly, I'm disabled with multiple sclerosis and the heat kills me. It's nice in there but right now our cars air-conditioning is broken so we're doing bring home and I'm not leaving the house! And it's good to know that we can order from here when we want something to take home and that it's much better than it used to be so I give them kudos for that.

I was surprised that they were not very busy. We ordered and the food is not an inexpensive place, but not expensive either. We went and lived it. A week later we took our grandson there and this time, it was nearly full! The waitresses are nice. They're polite and they're helpful if you ask them for something. They kept our glasses filled and brought doggy bags when we needed them (because I could not finish a meal in this place). The portions are pretty big at least for me. I told my grandson that next time we go we will split a meal. He's 10 and told me no way He finished his whole meal. Yeah. Probably won't be splitting a meal with him after all. I'll just bring home a lot of leftovers. They had the quesadilla which they both enjoyed. My husband, my grandson, Muletti I think was the name of it. It's a round tortilla filled with the meat of your choice and then it has, cilantro, spices cheese It comes spicy or mild. The ambiance is nice. It's a quiet restaurant. The kids were more than welcome and they were very patient with the kids. I like darker restaurants because of my eyes. The really bright light also triggers migraines. Good news. It's a darker restaurant and it's a quieter restaurant the sound doesn't travel. I do know, in my wheelchair, we had no problem getting in and finding a place to sit. There was enough room to maneuver in there, which is always nice to know because not all restaurants are that easy. I would put this on my to-do list if you're looking for a new place to try that's Mexican. T's a good place to try. I think it is a family-owned restaurant Okay adding to this. Had take-home and it held up and they did not skimp on their to-go order. So a plus with that.
