Dr Wolfe and the technician who cleaned my teeth were professional and competent, but would not recommend the office for their "bait and switch" tactics. By the way, after many calls and complaints about their complicated and incorrect billing, they "terminated" me as a patient. Interestingly, when I complained that Dr Wolfe was "out of network" despite their initial assurances that the office accepted my insurance, I was told that Dr Wolfe does accept my insurance at "other offices", just not theirs. If you get an appointment at 12 PM, you will be very lucky to be seen by 2 PM. Once, my family had to wait until 6 PM to be seen when our appointment was at 3. The location closes at 6, so they were rushing us out of there and didn't care about our dental hygiene at all - they just wanted to go home. Many of the hygienists at this location do not speak English very well, and do not seem to care very much about their job. I had one hygienist completely ignore a dentist during an examination, because she was too busy talking to a colleague about what she was going to buy at the grocery store! Many of the people here are not gentle with me, which disturbs me - as a young adult, I have the ability to tell my parents that they hurt me, but young children do not have this ability. A lot of them are very rough and rude to me for no reason at all - The people here seem to be unqualified for their job. I am repeatedly told that I have cavities when I take very good care of my teeth - I believe this is a way for them to bill Medicaid and receive more money for their company. I actually went into Small Smiles for the last time in October 2011 for a crack in my tooth, and their "solution" was to drill more of my tooth out - they then deduced that this somehow would make it better, when in reality it made my problem so much worse. Now, every time that I eat or drink anything hot or cold, my tooth sears with pain. I have to eat and drink everything on the opposite side of my mouth just to avoid the pain. It is impossible to keep all food away from that area - this had made my life a living hell for the past year. I am now too old to go to Small Smiles, and they were the only location in the RV that would take my insurance. I refused to go back for more treatment after they made my problem worse. Now I am stuck with this horrific pain because my family does not have enough money to afford to go to an actual, qualified dentist. My brothers, who are both 17, have also experienced the same issues with the hygienists and dentists here. I never understood why people were afraid of going to the dentist until I was a patient at this location. It is just horrible here and I would not recommend it to anyone, for any reason at all. If you can afford to go somewhere else for treatment, please do.

The hygienist was good probing my gums for issues, then having the dentist Dr. Woods, checkout my mouth. I thought very little of it when she scheduled a "deep cleaning" in about 13 weeks. Weren't they supposed to clean and scrape the tarter off my teeth during this visit as well? I had to ask an indignant office scheduler if they gave out toothpaste and brush post cleaning. I guess it's something I've come to expect in 65 years of teeth cleaning. I wasn't impressed with the office staffs customer service skills.

A friend told me to watch videos of people getting a tooth pulled so I would know what to expect. In the videos all the dentist used a tool and they worked it around and wiggled the tooth free. That was no where near what this barbaric Dr. Abreu did. He pulled straight down on my tooth as hard as he could and my tooth snapped off. He broke it off in half! Then he cut up my gums and the bone was also broken. Worst experience of my life. By comparison I had another tooth pulled a month later by another dentist. Wow what a difference!! He was very gentle and rocked the tooth back and forth and easily removed the tooth and all three roots! No cutting up my gums. No broken tooth! No broken bone! Thank you Dr. Van Gilder! Dr. Abreu should have his dental license revoked! Disgusting man!!
