This store has an amazing selection, great prices, and helpful staff. Things you can't find anywhere else will be right here, and if you are sick of the junk they sell at the big box pet stores then you will love this shopping experience. My dog is an extremely aggressive chewer and most toys and chews are just not safe for him - but I found quite a few items here that will take the abuse. My dog is happy, so I'm happy and this is my new favorite shopping spot for all of my pet supplies. read more

A very well stocked pet store. Was happy to find they carry not only goat milk but also the powder puppy/ kitty milk powder. Not the KMR stuff but the good stuff! My senior dog needed to put on some weight and this stuff is great. Staff is well informed, easy to talk to and honest, if they don't know they aren't gonna just tell you what you want to hear to make a sale. Fantastic alternative the to the chain stores. They have the cutest gourmet dog cookies and treats. Adorable stuff. I also received a lot of education from the Asst. I was in to get cat toys and treats while my cats were being groomed, and the cashier was so nice, we started talking about picky eaters and my urinary sensitive cat and she was so knowledgeable and helpful. She gave me some samples of a brand I was wanting to try that I had heard about from a friend. I wish we lived in Salem so I could shop here all the time. I wish I had asked her name, but the receipt says "Cashier AG" and I just want to say thank you! You have a Portland loyal customer every time I bring my cats to be groomed! Was my first time in and it was a great experience. The staff was very kind and welcoming. An employee Rosalie, was who greeted me and I told her I was looking for dog food and she was very helpful and knowledgeable on all food. Great location right across Market Street from Fred Meyer with a very friendly and accommodating staff. So much better than a big box chain store... small by square footage standards but don't be mislead- it has one of the best selections of toys, premium dog foods, accessories, shampoos and nail clippers for your pooch. I was surprised by the abundance of high end food at competitive prices. Since I have a Great Dane that I want to live longer than their expected 8 years, I don't skimp on dog food! I never buy the cheapo doggie junk they sell at mainstream stores. And this place certainly doesn't disappoint with their excellent selection of high end foods, some of which I've never heard of before... and some of which are super, ultra high end (made with free range chicken and organic this and that, lol). I mean I spoil my dog, but even I don't eat THAT well. Additionally I enjoy coming to locally owned and operated businesses like this one. I was recommended here from my vet clinic Evergreen Veterinary Hospital, and I am so glad they did! They have amazing customer service and a huge selection AND decent prices. I have now been going there for months and love that they are in North Salem where I live. I'm not sure who trains the employees up front but they are simply amazing, great customer service! I know they just moved into a bigger location just down the road, so I'm excited to see all the cool new inventory. They usually have stuff that other pet stores don't carry ie. Cool toys, cool cat trees etc. I like supporting local vs the huge stores with crappy customer service and made in China everything!!! I highly recommend this pet store, oh and they don't sell pets! So they said no to backyard breeding and yes to adopt from shelter! Win Win in my book! read more
