Eh.. I'm hoping it was just because I went in the 9pm hour, but service was very slow (the are 1.6 miles from me and I had less than half my lunch hour left when I got back home) can't really give this one a thumbs up due to price/speed/value. The gyro, while stuffed with way more meat than I would've expected, was also dripping with tzatziki, and $16 for the combo (I don't do well with fries, so I got the jalepeno poppers) is a bit steep (menu said $11., receipt said $15 for the same combo). If I could leave a ZERO STAR RATING I WOULD BUT I CAN NOT!!!! I came from out of STATE to visit family in Winter Haven Fla. (3/23/24)Decided to stop at Salems Gyros. From the outside the establishment seemed to be clean. Once entering, the floors had black marks like a bunch of feet traffic and trash under the table, and by the trash cans! You can tell that the restaurant wasn't cleaned the previous night! The bathrooms REEKED OF URINE, both Men's/Women! That's for starters! I proceeded to the front counter to place my parties order. There were two managers there, IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT TO CALL THEM! One spanish or mexican and the other was a caucasian! VERY VERY NASTY AND DISRESPECTFUL ATTITUDES! The tone in their voices were as if ( hurry up and place your order so that I can get back to being lazy or gossiping, or get back on my phone!) A lot of eye rolling and yelling on the microphone to deliver the order to the back! (As if the individuals were SLAVES and BENEATH THEM!) Flat out NASTY! First time eating anything from them. Was totally surprised by the taste and the freshness. I ordered a scrimp bowel. I ordered it as take out and brought it back home to eat. Very tasty and at $11.99 there was a large portion. I did notice that a great deal of their business was drive up window. Only a couple of people were in side eating. No big deal. Ok... so gave this place another shot at 7:45 pm, as I was working close to this particular location. I was the third vehicle in line, the first vehicle at the pickup window, and it was a full 15 minutes before I reached the pickup window. It was another 5 minutes before I received my food order after having paid for it. My order consisted of fried okra and an original gyro with an Arnold Palmer. The fried okra was fresh and hot, the gyro was barely lukewarm and the Arnold Palmer was mostly lemonade instead half sweet tea and lemonade. Overall, the service is extremely slow, the food is good but should be better than it is. The staff just doesn't really seem to care if they provide good customer service at all. This is one of the best establishments I have been to! You might think it's fast food by just driving by and seeing it from the street but when you go in man it's extremely well maintained! It is one of the cleanest restaurants I have ever been in to. The customer service is top tier here. I have not had any issues with my meals when I go but the employees always go above and beyond to help make my experience that much better. The food is so delicious and fresh!! This is one of the few places left that actually start making your food when you arrive and place your order. It couldn't get any fresher than that! I will definitely be coming back in the future and I will definitely tell all my friends and family about this place! read more

So disappointed to see employees not wearing face mask or coverings with all the COVID19 cases in Polk County. My family and I are high risks and we're taking all the necessary precautions, that's why we normally use the drive-thru, so I made my order around 3:15 pm today, but when we saw the car in front of me getting their meal and the employee not wearing a face-covering and talking to the customer directly like nothing, I just couldn't believe it, so we decided to leave. Is sad to see these places are not taking care or worrying about the safety, health, and well being of their customers or even their own employees. I love this place, but I'm not planning to sponsor restaurants that are not adhering to the proper safety precautions during this pandemic. read more

We were at Auburndale Florida for a baseball tournament and thought we would drop by and try Salem's Gyros and More. While I thought their prices were on the higher end of fast food I was willing to pay more for a Gyro. Both my wife and I had Gyros and fries our girls had the kids meal chicken fingers and fries. The food did not all come out at once. Came in three waves with the Gyros first, fries second and then minutes later the girls meals. They have one of the cool free style coke machines which I love. The cashier up front did a great job taking money from both inside the store and drive through. Overall the food was good, cashier did a great job. Did not care for having to ask for salt once I discovered there was no salt on the tables or where everything else is. Same for ranch dressing for the girls meals. Some times cost control turns off your clients so be careful of how much cost control you implement. Overall in my opinion the food was good. Will come back if I ever run into this restaurant chain like this again. read more

Do not underestimate the food here based on poor reviews .... I've earned here at least a half dozen times in the last six months. Every time the service, price, quality and diversity has been outstanding. The ingredients are always top shelf. It's the only "fast" food I will eat. They may expedite the orders but it's by no means processed chain style ingredients. The only complaint are the portions are too large .. if that can be a complaint lol Do yourself a favor and skip the chains and give Salem's a shot you will not be disappointed. read more

This place was shockingly good for a gyro from a fast food joint. The meat was moist and had a good taste.

We have been to this location twice. Both times they have messed up our to-go orders. Here's the thing, first of all even though this is 'fast foot' it's not market value fast food. Therefore one would expect a little better quality service, attention to detail and the correct food given. This last experience was similar to the first. We ordered three meals with a few extra sides. One of the meals was a chicken gyro. Instead they gave us lamb. Not one single person in this house eats lamb. So the dreaded call was made and the usual well bring it back and we will replace it for free. Let me tell every restaurant out there; you are NOT replacing something for FREE. In fact, we are wasting our time and gas driving back to your business because of your error. Then on top of it, that one person's meal you messed up on, either shares with someone else or doesn't eat. So please stop acting like you're doing customers a favor. You're not. We paid for an entire meal to sit an eat as a family, we didn't get to. Yet you still got paid. Why don't you deliver a hot new fresh meal and we would gladly give you the ENTIRE order back? read more

Management needs to keep up with changing the promo signs and recording at drive thru. I have also had issues with them not knowing how to process orders done via the internet. The employees are not very knowledgeable about the items on the menu and have to ask management or cooks. read more

While the food is good, count yourself lucky if your order is right. No matter how large or small the order is, there's always at least one thing missing or wrong with our order.
