They will work on their time clock, not yours, will not answer text except maybe to apologize for not making it. I was disappointed they did not put our shed up as planned. The two stars are for our front yard and backyard grass (looks very nice and plush). We had a few issues with our sprinkler system they put in but my husband and I fixed them. read more

I can honestly say I had a tremendously wonderful experience with Saul and his team of landscapers. I am not sure why there are other reviews here that speak otherwise. We hired Salinas Landscaping for a major redo project. I interviewed several other highly rated landscapers. They either did not reply with a bid after visiting our property or their bids were way outta line. Salinas responded on time, and did an amazing job for a very fair price. His team is courteous, and efficient. They worked hard and made sure everything they completed was to satisfaction. Salinas provided masonry, tile work, rock delivery and installation, fountain repair, olive tree trimming, irrigation replacement and planting. I recently had a fountain issue and Saul responded immediately and was able to help me out next day. I cannot agree with the other reviews. I had such a positive experience. From experience with talented working landscapers, they are busy, have a bit of patience. Real life and real people with great skills respond at human speed. Salina's landscaping and construction completed a good job laying sod to our front and back yard and repairing our sprinkler system. One problem that we have is that the communication wasn't there. Pretty much all text messages and calls were not returned. It was frustrating to not know if and when they were going to show up. Also, Pedro and I had discussed erecting a shed for us and it was totally disregarded... basically brushed off. When an agreement is made it should be honored, we had it scheduled. I feel that he agreed to complete the shed in order to secure the job of the yard and sprinkler system. Salinas landscaping construction does not seem trustworthy. read more

Would not recommend. Quoted a 4 day job and started immediately. After Day 1 we did not see Saul for another 4 weeks. Called, txt'd and finally had to threaten legal action before he showed up. Work was ok but his team is not experienced in stone work and we had to watch every stone placement they did. Price was medium not cheap. Job finally finished 6 weeks after the 4 day quote. Finished product was ok but only because we had to micro-manage their work. Avoid these guys! read more

This review has been a long time coming.  I first used Pedro to install pavers for a courtyard in my home.  Of the several quotes I received, not only was Pedro the most competitive, but he was also clearly very knowledgeable and was able to understand my vision for the project which is important to me.  Throughout the project, if ever anything wasn't quite as I anticipated, he would make it right, generally without adding anything to the initial quote.  As the project progressed and I got to know Pedro and his team better, I learned that they had experience in many other areas for which I needed work as well.  This project expanded to the installation of the plant material for the courtyard at which point I met his brother, Saul.  I was impressed with Saul's knowledge of so many different kinds of plants and what will do well under certain conditions.  More recently, I needed some work done at my office building in Fullerton and called on Pedro and Saul again.  It's really refreshing to have someone you can call that can literally do just about anything you throw at them.  Additionally, they are good, trustworthy people, who throughout the many projects they have now done for me, have always made everything right, eventually.  I see the other comments about communication and although at times they struggled in this area (as I've found most contractors do), with some extra follow up they have always made good and finished every project to my satisfaction.  I wouldn't hesitate to use them for anything even remotely landscape-related...in all likelihood, not only will they be the most competitive quote, but they will also be able to take care of all of the related aspects of the job you might otherwise have called someone else to do. read more

Pedro and his guys were really good. I was looking for someone to help redo the landscaping in my backyard, which over time had become really cluttered and overgrown with plants, and had some not very usable or inviting areas of hardscape. Pedro responded to my outreach quickly, and came for a consultation right away. He gave my backyard careful thought, listened to my concerns, gave good advice. He and his team started work within just a couple weeks, and completed the work more or less on time (there were delays due to wildfires/poor air quality nearby, and a couple days of rain). They worked really hard, all the days they were here, and checked in with me every once in awhile to make sure I was liking the work. Prices were quite reasonable. Communication sometimes takes a little time, but I did always eventually hear back. What matters most to me is the quality and efficiency of the work. I will be hiring Pedro and his team for continued maintenance of my landscaping, and for our future house projects! read more

We recently hired Salinas to install a new front lawn, sprinkler system, and redo a planting bed. First, they were right on time to perform a job walk and give us an estimate. After hiring them, they showed up exactly when they said they would, did exactly what they said they were going to do, and finished exactly when they said they would. And did a GREAT job! What else can you ask for? We couldn't be happier. They weren't the cheapest estimate we received (and nor should they be) and they weren't the most expensive either. Right in the middle and when compared to the exceptional work they did, totally worth every penny and more! Can't recommend Salinas more-a great company. read more

My wife and I decided that we needed to re landscape part of our front yard and so we asked for companies that were interested to please contact us through Yelp. Pedro contacted me the next morning and asked when we could get together for a free in person quote and we settled on the following day at 6 PM. So the next day 6 PM comes and goes and I have to make contact via text with Pedro to see if he's going to show up at all. He apologized and said he was working far that day and would like to reschedule for the next day at 2:00. Just before 2 Pedro texted me that he got a "flat tire" and asked if we could make the appointment at 4:30 to which I agreed but at this point I was starting to get a bad feeling about the reliability of this company. At 4:30 Pedro and his brother Hugo actually did show up and listened to our wants and needs and proceeded to take measurements after which Pedro had me write down my email address to send the estimate to me when he had finished calculating the costs. 3 days later I still hadn't received an estimate and so I reached out at 3:30 via text to Pedro and asked him if he had a chance to work on the landscaping estimate for our yard yet. It wasn't until 10:30 that evening that Pedro contacted me and said he would get me the estimate by the following evening. That was 4 days ago and I still haven't received nor do I care to receive an estimate from this shoddy company. This turned out to be just a complete waste of our time and I would warn others to be aware and steer clear of this company. read more

I have been using Salinas Landscaping for about eight months and the transformation of my softscape has been amazing. My lawn looks nearly as good as when it was first sodded. Saul is my preferred brother who specializes in softscape and has always delivered his promises. I think he was trained as an arborist. His brother appears to specialize in hardscape and I have had mixed results from him: awesome job on replacing a rotting pergola post without damaging the plants entwining it, another awesome job on replacing a weak mailbox post and reinforcing with concrete, but a very poor job on painting the numbers on the post (but the brothers did correct the problem.) They also transformed my backyard with some beautiful plants but some of them have died. Saul promised to replace them at no cost but that has not happened yet -- I suspect it is because of the high temperatures. Bottom line: correct pruning of trees, shrubs, and bushes; application of the right fertilizer to the right plants at the right time; excellent hardscape skills (wood, concrete, stone, fountains); strong work ethic. They're not the cheapest but you get what you pay for -- and you can always negotiate the price of a bigger job. read more

I hired the 4 brothers to take out some very large roots in the front and backyards. I live in Anaheim Hills and have half an acre so the place is fairly large. They worked very hard and were gentlemen. When they left they hauled everything away and cleaned everything up. The roots that they cut out were underneath a retaining wall as well as a backyard sidewalk. The tree roots were about 12 inches thick so it was not an easy job. I would definitely recommend this company. They were professional and nice people and gave me a great price, especially for what they did. I will probably hire them again in the future. After what they did I know that the rest of my family will. read more

My rental house rear yard required a total refresh; the previous tenant destroyed the lawn and paver patio with their trucks. Within a week a new patio was poured, an automatic irrigation system was installed, sod was laid, and gravel surrounding the lawn area was used as an accent.
