This is my local neighborhood brewery, sometimes I walk here, but mostly I drive. I appreciate the parking lot which always seems to have space. It's great that you can enter and leave thru the garage. Parking is timed, but it usually seems to be the right amount of time, if not there is some street parking available. Inside is large and welcoming, there are a few bar type seats. There are multiple bathrooms which I always appreciate in a brewery. I miss the days of the local food trucks, but you can bring food or order from a place next door most days. This is a great place to meet up with others or have a regularly scheduled meet up, they are so accommodating and helpful. My book club meets here currently. It's great because we are able to get a section reserved ahead of time, its away from the TVs and never so loud that we have trouble hearing each other. They are also open every day and have later hours than a lot of breweries seem to have these days. They have multiple beers on tap, always something new and are happy to offer tastes if you have trouble deciding. If you don't drink beer there are ciders, wine and root beer as well. I've tried tons of things, they are all tasty. I have a 5th anniversary Belgian Triple Crowler in my fridge right now. Everyone who works here is super nice and the vibe is always chill. There's trivia on Tuesdays at 7, but I have yet to check this out. It's dog friendly, currently with a dedicated posting area for pics of the brewery dogs that come to visit. In good weather it's great to sit outside. If you are so inclined this is walking distance from the newly opened light rail station. Check it out. read more

Stopped in for a couple of pints. Both beers were well-crafted and each was a solid pour. The server volunteered a healthy sample of a beer he thought I'd like. It's a nice facility overall. The outdoor seating looks pretty inviting, but it's a fairly busy street, so if you want to have a quiet conversation, you should probably grab a window table inside. read more

A hidden gem my boyfriend and I stumbled upon! We have been a few times and have taken friends here as well. The menu is rotating and we have tried so many of them - ALL delicious. The service is so friendly and chill, as well as knowledgeable, and will let you sample beers before committing to one. It is very family friendly with a bunch of games too which is great! read more

My boyfriend and I have been really wanting to check this place out because we live walking distance to this brewery ! We are glad we were able to come in yesterday ! We really enjoyed our visit with our little dog Cali ! Currently the weather is amazing so we sat outside with our cider and handcrafted beer. On certain days; not sure which days; a yummy Venezuelan food truck is parked outside. Which is great for a fresh bite to eat while sitting at the brewery. The staff and atmosphere is very laid back. The brewery is modern and clean ! I love the standards in the brewery because they seem to be very high. For those who do not like beer, they had ciders on tap as well as Washington wines available by the glass. They have both 64 oz. growlers and 32 oz. crowlers available for purchase for any of there products on tap. I wonder if they will have tours available in the future and certain event(s) during the week once things are more back to normal. I've driven past Hemlock many times, but never tried it out until recently. My friends and I just had dinner and wanted to grabs drinks somewhere, so I suggested Hemlock since it was nearby us and open until 11. At first glance of looking at the Yelp reviews, we were intrigued with the layout and interior setup. My friend describe it like it being a cafe, but for beers. There were plenty of chairs and table inside, as well as outside. Parking is available on the streets or at the Arbor parking garage. If parking in the garage, you get 90 minutes of parking. My friends went there in the evening and I asked about the parking situation and what happens when the garage doors close and the bartender I formed me that since we were still having our drinks, that she would give us a temporary parking pass. I greatly appreciated her help in allowing us to enjoy our drinks and the atmosphere there. Now on to the good stuff - the drinks! Since it was my first time there, I wanted to try a bit of everything, since the names were so intriguing, so I decided to get a flight. I'm glad I did that. It's the best way to see what's good. I was pretty satisfied with all my picks, but I really liked Into the dark (stout) and ballinger (blonde ale). I definitely recommend going here for drinks and to hangout with friends. Tasty beers, nice people. The list consisted of Hazys, Pales, a Scottish Ale, one of my favorite styles, if done right, it was, Porters and a Stouts I'm not on the IPA bandwagon, had enough of them years ago, before they became trendy, plus you can hide a lot of imperfections in hoppy beers, lagers, not so much. All in all, the owners were super nice, the dogs were a plus, good atmosphere, stop in for the beer, hang for the people. read more

Hemlock State Brewing Co is a new brewery that came to my attention recently. On a recent trip to Seattle we incorporated a trip up to Mountlake Terrace and paid them a visit. We tried several of their beers. We had their blond, amber and the Chocolate Moose Oatmeal Cream Stout. All of their beers were very good and the service was very prompt despite it being very busy. This brewery is located in a cute part of town. I never have been to Mountlake Terrace until we came to try this brewery. Now we have a reason to come back to town since we really enjoyed this brewery! read more

Highly recommend this brewery in Montlake Terrace town centre. They allow dogs, kids and outside food. Beers are great and they have a good collection. Board games and cards are also there to enjoy with family or friends. Overall a great place to hang out and enjoy some beer/ciders. read more

Awesome service and decent selection of beer on tap. I've been driving by this location for a few weeks and have been wanting to stop in, finally made it. I tried wide selection from their flights, from lager to IPA, porter and barley wine. My palate was definitely stretched however their was one selection I enjoyed, their porter. It's called the Koko, that chimp is alright toasted creamy porter and it was delicious. Immediately a mouthful of toasted coconut and tasted like candy. Then the creaminess of the porter and surprisingly light, it made me forget that I was drinking a porter. I enjoyed it enough that I took home a growler and definitely return when they rotate their next craft for summer. Cheers! We did a flight of 5: dunkel, octoberfest lager, vaderade, hazed, Vienna. For the first time ever I have seen a place with such perfect beer. Each one is an excellent beer, tasty and flavorful. Nothing creative in flavors but super good for each kind. Highly recommend this place. Esp it's dog friendly and has air-conditioning so your fur friends can stay cool. There's also a vietnamese banh mi next door that pairs perfectly with cold beer in case you want some bites Tip: garage parking is 90m free and has a connecting door to the brewery. read more

Visited on a Saturday around 1:30. There is a parking garage nearby with no fee when we went. Very close to the brewery. They have good amount of outdoor and indoor seating. The atmosphere is simple, clean, and modern. A fireplace area with a TV and pretty spacious. The beertender was great let us know we can always find their most up to date beer selection on their website and they brew and rotate beer weekly. Ciders don't rotate as often. I had a pineapple cider which was great. Sweet and mellow! They have beautiful artwork on the walls. I would recommend giving this place a try! read more

The best I could come up with three stars because it's simply OK and there are much better taphouses and breweries within a couple miles. The parking was under the building with relatively easy street access (which I found out after driving past it and turning around in a parking lot down the road) but they don't have a huge amount of smaller group tables. My wife and I ended up sitting a 6 person table by ourselves because there simply wasn't anything else available and while I tried sitting outside when I first arrived, 42 degrees and no patio heaters aren't a good mix. I don't know that I'll ever go out of my way to visit again, but I'd happily meet someone there. read more

My friend and I were verbally harassed last night at Hemlock brewing. My friend and I like to meet up here to talk family, sports, politics. He is moderate left, I'm moderate right. We sometimes disagree but like hearing differing opinions. A patron at the bar who is eavesdropping on our conversation over tariffs and Tesla firebomings said we needed to be called out as liars and spreaders of government propaganda. We tried to converse with him but he went on a loud nonsensical left-wing tirade and then accused us of supporting snatching random citizens off the street to be sent to El Salvador gulags. The bartender finally intervened and told him to keep his voice down because there were children present. After he was finished berating us he went and talked to the bartender to tell him how we felt threatened by our conversation. After he left, we asked the bartender what that guy's problem was to which he shrugged and replied, SH** *happens. No apologies. So if you want to go to a place and have a good beer and conversation don't go here. We sure won't be back. read more

Visiting my cousin in Shoreline from So Cal, I did a Google search for local breweries, I ran into a coworker at this fine brewery and stayed for three rounds...I loved the "Don't Come A' Knockin' Oatmeal Cardamom Pale Ale" twice!! And for dessert I had the "Chocolate Moose Oatmeal Chocolate Cream Stout". Cordial folks behind the counter, great family ambiance, clean, food options next door and delicious beer. Yum! Lavender lemon pale(made it home), Yes please... heavier on the hop than you would think, but so good and should be a candle, Imperial blueberry hazy(1st anniversary), excellent. Aurora Beerialis.. not just a great name... this Ipa is great. The Cherry and the Chocolate factory stout (omg) for the win! The cosmic crips was so good... morning star pale... was a pale. Lol Diamond knot root beer on tap, plenty of out door seating (bring that dogo... there are bones) and a Vietnamese sandwich shop that is incredible around the corner. If you are a lager fan, this is your jam. They've got several good ones, and one I absolutely adore named "What's the Hurry About?". Crisp and perfectly balanced with a nice little bite. They also have IPAs, ambers, porters, etc. The tasting room and the big patio are inviting. Good music playing, friendly service, food right around the corner. read more

Beer. It's what they do. Well...and cider. Which is how they got me in the door. I'm not a beer lover, I admit it, never acquired a taste for it and have desire to do that. My wife on the other hand, beer lover. She drinks it because she says it is good - what a concept. So it was natural for her birthday we try out the new beer spot in the neighborhood. We had heard so much about this new business and we were hoping the initial wave of craziness died down and we could pop in and give it a whirl. First off, let me tell you, this business has PRIMO location in this retail area because of the direct access from the parking garage. While we stopped by on a sunny day, this will be handy when it's pouring rain and you don't want to get wet. We popped in the back door into a surprisingly busy space despite having already been open a few days and again, only having beer and cider. Once I saw the crowd I got a little worried - we were only popping in for some to-go as the Game of Thrones finale was airing and we HAD TO see it before everyone and their mom ruined it for us on social media. No worries at all - walked up to the bar - immediately greeted - introduced to a "crowler" (can growler, 32 oz) and the wife slid a sample. Went with first taste "Adjust Your Latitude" and a crowler of the Sangria cider for me we were off. The price was really reasonable considering the two containers held four drinks! At home we cracked the icy cold cans and while my wife knew what she was getting into with the beer sample, I was going into the cider blind. Oh. Em. Gee. Got to hand it to you Hemlock, you got me. Usually I can take or leave an alcoholic drink (unless it's a good red wine) as they just don't appeal to my taste buds, but this one did. My only regret? Not getting more. It's a fair question, but let me tell you, they do not overcharge on their soda But for real: this place is great. I'm sitting inside write now typing this at 12:20pm on a Tuesday because they opened early for the US Women's World Cup game. Great visit yesterday. Beers were exceptional (Triple IPA and a Chocolate Stout) and server indulged us with a sample of the Heavy Ale which I would definitely order on next visit. Checked out this little spot today. Was pleasantly surprised by the space and layout. The fireplace with comfy seating was a nice touch. We especially appreciated the little kids area and the kid drink options (our LO got some chocolate milk). They also had a dairy-free option on the menu! It seems like they're still working on broadening their tap list. My hubby got an IPA that was on the higher end (8.__%), but to me it tasted like fall! Yum! I love this place. Don't let the construction deter you!!! It's a minor inconvenience and it's totally worth the little trouble. There is a lot of street parking - and free parking in the retail garage. Warm and friendly and fun.
