I especially loved the glaze on the cereal killer waffle and the "secret sauce" served with their savory waffles. This would have been a great experience were it not for the waitress being so unprofessional. If she'd apologized all would have been fine. Everyone has bad days or comes on too strong sometimes. The shakshouka was excellent though. I wish that I'd been more able to enjoy it, rather than leave feeling bad about myself.

Terrible customer service experience. My wife and I visited this restaurant for brunch and were greeted by Casey at the hostess station. From the moment we arrived, Casey was extremely rude to us. Despite the restaurant being only about 70% full, Casey informed us that it might take up to an hour to get a table. While we understood that they may not have been fully staffed to accommodate all tables, what frustrated us was witnessing two other couples, who arrived separately and without reservations, being immediately seated. This struck us as odd, so we asked Casey how many parties were ahead of us. Casey refused to provide this information and simply told us to continue waiting for about 30 more minutes. After standing for an extended period, we decided to sit next to one of the unoccupied tables to make our wait more comfortable. However, Casey approached us in a very rude and unfriendly manner, demanding that we not sit there. Eventually, after about 45 minutes of waiting, we were finally given a table that had been available since the moment we arrived. To confirm our suspicions, we spoke with the couple who were seated just two minutes after us at the adjacent table. When we asked them how long they had waited for a table, they revealed that they were seated immediately. This clearly demonstrates that the waiting game played on us was entirely unnecessary and seemed like a power trip. We found this level of unprofessionalism and humiliating customer service to be exceptionally unpleasant. As frequent restaurant-goers in various cities and countries, we have never encountered such a demeaning experience. I really wanted to like Sally Ann's, but this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. We were there for lunch, and the restaurant was not busy, yet the service was incredibly slow. When our food finally arrived, the avocado on my roasted turkey sandwich was completely brown and clearly not fresh. I flagged down our waitress and pointed it out. She told me she would speak to the chef. What happened next was honestly shocking. The chef walked by, and our waitress tried to get his attention, but she appeared so uncomfortable and intimidated that she could barely approach him. She never returned to our table with fresh avocado, a replacement sandwich, an explanation, or any resolution whatsoever. At that point, I actually had to pick up my plate and walk it to the bar myself to get the bartender to address the problem. Our waitress then walked past us multiple times and didn't acknowledge us at all. I eventually asked for a manager. No manager ever came to our table. Mistakes happen. Food can come out incorrectly. What makes this experience unacceptable is the complete lack of customer service once the problem was brought to their attention. I shouldn't have to chase down employees, carry my own plate to the bar, and ask repeatedly for someone in management to address an issue. The photo speaks for itself. This is what was served to me. I left feeling completely astonished on how terrible the service was. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not return and cannot recommend Sally Ann's. read more

I had high hopes for Sally Ann's, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The atmosphere is trendy, with disco lights and loud music, but the service and food left a lot to be desired. We ordered the Pittsburgh Nasty and the Brisket Hash. The Pittsburgh Nasty was just okay--lacking in flavor and nothing particularly special. The Brisket Hash, however, was a major letdown. It tasted like poorly seasoned pot roast, and the worst part was the texture--large, gooey chunks of fat that were completely inedible. I had to spit out pieces multiple times, which was honestly stomach-turning. After encountering more fatty globs, I gave up on eating it altogether. For the price, I expected larger portions, better quality, and more flavor. The service was also mediocre; our server wasn't particularly friendly or attentive. Overall, Sally Ann's is more about the trendy vibe than the food or experience. Wouldn't recommend it, especially if you're looking for a satisfying meal. read more

I didn't have the best experience here. The food was bland and overpriced, which was disappointing. The only saving grace was the excellent service, which helped make up for the meal. The homemade hash brown square was not good and whatever grease they fried it in needed to be changed. One of my guests found a long blonde hair in their food. To their credit, the staff handled it well--they immediately took the dish back, removed it from the bill, and brought out a fresh one. Another guest ordered an egg dish that wasn't great, and when they mentioned it, the staff not only took it off the bill but also offered a free drink as a gesture of goodwill. I truly appreciated their efforts to make things right, but the food itself could use some work--a little more seasoning would go a long way. read more

I came here on Friday for the first time with some co workers. The atmosphere is cool and trendy, similar to coop de ville. I like the outdoor seating. I started off with a specialty cocktail and the chicken sandwich which was delicious. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. My only complaint and reason for 3 stars is the service or lack there of. The way the bar is set up, there was a younger girl (dark hair, blonde streaks) taking orders and then 2 bartenders. But you had to order thru her, you couldn't just ask a bartender for a drink. As the night went on, it was harder to get her attention. She was always "busy" cleaning the coffee machine, chatting with other bartenders etc. while there was a line of people waiting to be serviced. read more

This place is absolutely adorable! It's a newer spot downtown Pittsburgh and has been pretty hot ever since it opened up! This place gets good crowds at lunch time and dinner time as well being so popular. I went there around 2pm and ended up getting a burger and it was just absolutely delicious! I also ended up getting a cup of machiatto and it was nice and strong! They also sell fresh squeezed juices which is a great healthy add on! The vibe at Sally Ann's is incredible! We arrived ~10:30 AM on a Saturday, and there was a long line, but they moved quickly. We were probably seated within 30 minutes. We popped by to Heat Check to grab a coffee and check out some of the clothes, but good thing we were conservative in coming back because they barely give you any time when they call your name to respond, otherwise they pretty immediately move onto the next name!

Anyways, got a seat 5 minutes after someone actually looked at that paper (yes, there were people rotating in and out within that time that people could have been sat ahead of us faster). The service is fine, again, one more employee on that shift would have made a difference. The food was pretty darn good. All four of us ordered different things, and all four of us went, oh, this is good. Would absolutely recommend coming here for breakfast.

Both of our dishes were fantastic! There was enough food to feed 4 people. The hotcakes alone were a meal. My wife's dish came with 2 hotcakes, eggs and bacon. My omelette came with a large serving of hash browns and toast. I ordered turkey sausage on the side. The orders came out before I could add cream to my coffee! Another great thing was the prices! Very affordable even with the tip. I would have gone back again today but they're closed Tuesday.
