Service with a smile works wonders and it was good to have met a friendly staff member today. She is the first friendly sales person I have met today; as well as colorful. They were very friendly and helpful when returning an online product I ordered but didn't have a receipt. After calling the 1-800 number to the main office I found that I fat fingered my email address when placing my order. My only request is for corporate office. Please make it as accessible to retrieve my order number by looking up my info at the store to make a return (in cases like this like) so that customers returns are much easier to do and a one-step process saving time for both employee and customer. read more

Probably the best Sally around, which isn't necessarily saying much, because Sally is kind of like Metro--it sucks but you don't really have any other option. This one is always clean and organized, and the staff here tends to be helpful and more knowledgeable than in Arlington or Alexandria. It is smaller than Arlington though, and not quite as convenient, but I prefer this location. read more

Yo, seriously, I agree with Darlene about needing to run out of here. My mom, who is visiting from Korea, needed some hot curlers for her hair and figured she needed to stop into a Sallys. I guess she's had experience with this place before. First, I walk in and the smell of hair products hits me in the nose like Kimbo Slice putting the finishing punch on Chuck Liddell. Not only that, then one of the ladies starts to follow us around the store and asking patronizingly, "do you need any help??" It's like, "um, can't you tell that my mom knows what she wants as she's incessantly comparing the features of the two items?" Let's face it - you think we're going to steal, but frankly, I've got better thing to do than rob your sorry ass. I'm not going back to this place - ever. It's almost worth paying a few extra bucks at CVS or a salon to make sure you get treated well. read more

Dang, people have given this Sally location a baaaaad rap. The reviews on here are pretty brutal, and maybe I'm just an outlier, but I really had a very normal, good experience here the other day! I've been in some pretty messy, sloppy Sallys before, and this wasn't one of them. The store was clean, well-maintained, and well-supplied. The woman behind the cash register was perfectly nice -- she asked me if I needed any help, and I saw her give some useful tips to another customer. Unshockingly, I spent way too much money here, but that's really my own problem, haha. Between the Ardell false eyelashes, rows and rows of OPI nail polish, and other goodies (I didn't pick any up today, but Sallys is where I buy all my hair bleach and hair dye stuff), can you blame me? I don't know if they've recently turned their game around or what, but based on my personal experience I definitely don't share the sentiment of the other reviewers here. The staff here is so rude. They don't help you unless you are someone they know. I have noticed that. The girl (someone young) who works there is so hostile. Doesn't smile and doesn't basically want to help anybody out. If you ask her something, she would answer in such an impolite manner. Go to this place only if you know what you want. Yep, people are unprofessional but sometimes helpful despite that. I went in to return something and pick up some polish remover, and their machine wasn't working so the person working the register wanted me to buy something else - she kept picking up random things around the register like lip gloss and nail files and trying to pressure me to buy them so she could do an exchange instead of a return. Awkward. I just want some polish remover! Their selection's pretty good though they run out fast of new popular items in nail polish lines. I've seen a couple of the sales people be really helpful when customers are trying to find products for their hair, but I've also heard them commenting on the customers after they leave the store. Again, unprofessional. Come if you know they've got what you want and it's the only place to get it. The prices aren't anything amazing compared to drugstores when they have sales or for polishes, nail polish supply stores. read more

VERY RUDE!!! I called the store for some question. Because I am far away and done wanna drive all the ways there if they font have it for sure. As soon as their pick up the phone one lady ask if I could wait a minutes before I can even say anything. The hold was 15 mins. So I hung up and called back, saying I was on hold for too long. She then ask me in a rude voice about what I need. I told her I wanna know if they have hair clips in extension and what are the longest length they carry in the store. I know everyone is up in arms about a rude staff member but one bad apple should not punish the customer service of all of the employees. I was helped by both Natalie and Jessica who were incredibly sweet and friendly, and assisted me with everything that I needed. They told me about promos and special discounts and also help me get even better deals by showing me where all of the discounts for the items I was buying were at. Every single time I come to this store, everyone is so nice and helpful. I am always greeted with a smile, and they're always checking up to see if I need anything specific. These ladies are so sweet. I would suggest going back and giving them a second try. They are really working hard to raise their customer service, and I feel that needs to be noted. Both the girls were open and honest with me about products and helped me find a great deal on a new flat iron plus a free curling iron! I went to Sally in Seven Corners yesterday looking for a new nail color. I left without purchasing anything for several reasons. The most egregious item being that two employees were standing at the door to the store room bringing up the store Yelp reviews and mocking the reviews and the reviewers. They were especially scathing of a reviewer who has reviewed multiple stores and restaurants. They laughed, stating that she must have nothing better to do than write Yelp reviews. They also had comments about the reviews for Tropical Smoothie (in the same shopping center), loudly stating that the reviewer they were referencing was "reviewing the food and not even talking about the customer service. Who does that?" Well, everyone who eats and reviews an establishment that serves food. The other reason I didn't make a purchase was that several brands of polish were not marked with prices. I didn't want to speak to these women, knowing that they had the propensity to mock customers. Oh, and while all of this was going on, no one was manning the front cash register. Enjoy mocking my review- I'm sure it will bring you great joy as you head into the holidays. I've only left one other Yelp review (as I'm sure you can see from my profile), and it was for excellent customer service. That's how offensive your behavior was- it riled me up enough that I, as a typical non-reviewer, feel compelled to write this. read more

Zero stars for this location. I cannot express enough how bad of an experience this was. I walk in with my friend and no one says hello to us until I force hello! Then for 20-30 mins with no one asking if we needed help. Luckily I know what I was looking for and found it all myself. The whole time the squad of 6 women talking about other things in their lives while I search for what I need. Go to the check out with all my items suddenly all the employees have disappeared, so I set my things next to the cash register. One lady walks to the other... I asked so "you want me to come to that one now?" Umm yeah was the response. I commented that one of the items was free and was ignored. I don't usually go here, only now and then when I need a specialty hair color (like pink or teal). I went in on a weekday, looking for teal hair dye. While I was looking at the dyes, a nice (if a little timid) girl that worked there came over and handed me a promotional paper for the store, it had coupons on it (but not for anything I needed). A manager saw the girl hand the paper to me and called her into the storage area in the back, which was 3 or 4 feet away from where I was standing. The manager proceeded to lay into her, yelling at her for giving me the paper. She yelled at her for like 5-10 minutes. Finally I got so uncomfortable, I practically ran out. I felt so sorry for the girl. That manager was so unprofessional and mean. I will never go back there. read more

Store manager is extremely rude here. She hinted at me stealing when I was checking out to buy several products. I should have walked out and not purchased anything but I had a formal event to attend the next night and didn't have time to go to a different beauty store. Also, the other times I have been here I have seen her treat her staff very poorly. Her staff seems miserable working there and they are not well trained on the products. I recently went to this location a week ago (9/11/18 around 1:30/2pm) to do a return of a gel nail polish I purchased. When I walked in the store the manager, Teresa, greeted me and ask why I was there. I told her I had a return but wanted to look around before I returned my item. While saying this I was in the process of walking towards the nail polish display. Teresa then proceeds to say I need to check the item I will be returning in before I can look around the store. This caught me off guard as I have been shopping at Sally's for years and have never had an employee tell me this. I ask her if this was a new policy she tells me this has always been company policy. I tell her that is not true and we continue to go back and forth about the validity of this "policy". Mind you while we are going back and forth I am allowing the cashier to return the polish. I eventually tell the manager to drop it since I am returning the item and she says "thanks for complying". At this point I don't even want to look around the store because I was so turned off by the interaction with Teresa. When I get in my car I call customer service to ask if this a policy. Of course they confirm this is not a policy that currently exists and has ever existed for that matter. I proceed to go back in the store while on the phone with Sally's customer service to let the manager know I know she was 1) lying and 2) profiling me but the manager was in the back of the store in a "conference". The woman on the phone calls the store to ask what is going on. When she finally get ahold of the manager, Teresa lies and says it was all a misunderstanding. Teresa tells Sally's customer service she was trying to convenience me while they had a outage due to the hurricane Florence. I told customer service this was a lie. There no outage in the store. They processed my return and were ringing up customer orders as we spoke. The lady on the phone made note of the incident and told me the district manager would call me. It has been a week and I have called customer service 3 times to let them know no one followed up with me. The last time I spoke to customer service they said the DM called and left a message. I informed her I never got a call/message. At this point I'm disappointed with how I was treated but also how no one from the store has tried to rectify the situation. I will no longer be a customer of this company due to the lack of care for how I was treated. After reading the reviews on here it is clear this store has terrible customer service. I encourage everyone with a bad experience to report this store to corporate so they know how this location treats its customers. read more

I've been going to this Sally's for years and have never had a problem with the service. At times the stock was lacking for the specialty products (natural/black hair products) I wanted but not any more. The service is 'real' and I appreciate that. The ladies behind the counter are the ladies who use the products. I want that authenticity and show my appreciation by being a regular customer. Pricing is excellent - having a Sally's card makes the pricing even better. read more

This is the best Sally Beauty location. I was looking for something last week but I didn't know the name if it. I received a greeting from Teresa that stated I love your purple tie what brings you to Sally today? I explained that I'm looking for something to prevent bumps on my face and head. Teresa suggested bump patrol. She asked me if I have a sallys card and I said I thought my wife said you don't need a sallys card. She explained that we have a new awesome loyalty membership and it's free now. I explained that we use to have one but it's expired so she signed me up and explained the point system and rewards. She also suggested a new product to detangle my daughters hair call curlanista which I purchased. I'm writing this a week later to tell everyone that shops at this location to go see Teresa for great suggestions. This bump patrol is the best product to prevent bumps, it is magic. Also, the curlanista detangle is awesome too. I will go back to get other products in this line. Also, Teresa asked me if I cut my own hair and I said yes. She suggested the all star combo kit with the designer and peanut. I will be back to purchase that product and I need a new Whal shaver. I'm going back to this location tomorrow and hope she is there to assist me and my family. I am bringing my wife and daughter with me tomorrow. She educated me on the Whal shaver. I asked her if you use shave cream with it and she said no. I asked what happens if I don't like the whal shaver and she explained the refund policy so I have nothing to loose. I found out her name because I asked another employee if she was the owner and if Sally has franchises because everything with customer service and cleanliness was top notch. She was picking up items on the floor, she was straigtening the brushes and helping and greeting other customers while I was shopping around. Her energy was amazing. She is definitely a keeper. Actually this location deserves no stars at all! All because of the store manager. Twice, her behavior and statements indicated that she is very much in control of any returned item: the minute she hears "return", she wants to take over the transaction (because she wants to ensure the item was bought at her store). I usually shop and do returns in my area (the Vienna and the Fairfax stores). I bought things in the Vienna store which I returned at the Fairfax store and vise versa; I never had an issue. But between June and today (October), twice I was in Falls Church and for convenience decided to run in to return 1 item that's been sitting in my car. Twice the manager refused. 1. In June, the store manager at this location looked at the receipt and said "you can't return it here, you have to return it to the location where you bought it. It's not fair to me to get their merchandise back." 2. Today, when I found myself in the area for the 2nd time, I hesitated before stopping in for a return. When I finally went in, she was right there, inviting people in. When responded "just an in and out today; I have a return." She dropped what she was staking, walked over to the registers and waited. When it was my turn in line, she didn't let the cashier handle me. She almost pushed her aside, looked at my receipt and said "you'll have to take it to where you bought it; my system will not let me do a return if it's not from my store; it will crash everything." The other day I went into this location looking for a hair color to touch up my roots. I had never done this before, but to my luck one of the staff members helped me out. She help me match the right Color, she stood there and read the instructions with me. Explained me the difference between the developers and not only that she also let me know of an offer of buy 2 get 1 free so I got a bowl, brush and bottle. TRULY I've been to other Sally's and have had terrible experiences and this one was not one of them. read more

My best friend and I were in the back of the store looking for an item. We were just having a conversation and we were laughing but not obnoxiously when this lady in the back employee designated area hushed us. I don't remember this place being a library and we were not so loud that we were disturbing anyone besides this lady who I assume was the manager. My friend was told the item was up front and so we moved on. While my friend was checking out and was having a lovely conversation with a very polite girl, I decided to look at short hairstyles on the magazine rack. I spotted a hair style I would love in the future and decided to keep that page open to show my friend. Meanwhile, I received a text, so I took my phone out and texted back. The same lady from the back then spoke very loudly from across the store and said, "no taking pictures of the magazine". I turned and said right back, "I'm not taking a picture, I'm texting someone". First of all, that was very rude. The lady was in the back and was no where near me. She was standing against the door frame with crossed arms. She already assumed I was doing something wrong since she was staring at me pretty hard and from her behavior before when she hushed us, she already thought we were "troublemakers". She shouldn't have assumed I was taking a picture of the magazine unless she had evidence I was doing so. Honestly, I can look up any hairs style I want online... Secondly, I do understand that people do that but you shouldn't judge right off the bat, it's rude and bad customer service. We're adults and we're not looking to do dumb things and take photos of a magazine or steal. I don't know what type of people this lady deals with on a daily basis but it's unprofessional. Thirdly, learn how to apologize to your customers if you misjudged someone. It's not hard to have common courtesy and from the looks of it, based on these other reviews, someone needs to look it up. I would give this place a zero but that's not possible. If I could, I would but because the other employee was very nice and polite, the one star goes to her. Ridiculously rude. This is twice now I've gone in and, when checking out at the register, had the woman working it ring up the incorrect price. When I said a sign in the aisle over the products clearly says "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" she said, rudely, "NO, this is NOT on sale." At that point I left everything on the counter and started to walk out. At this point she says, "Show me the sign." So I walk over and show her the signage on the products showing that yes, indeed, buy 2 get 1 free. She snaps it off the product and starts walking back to the cash register and snaps, "All you had to do was show me and I'd discount the price." She keeps going like I'm still going to buy anything from them. The whole thing was stunningly rude, and very much not just "The Customer is Wrong" but "The Customer is Trying to Pull a Fast One." Honestly, it's the store that does this all the time -- they don't ring up the advertised sales right in their store, and they're so super-rude it's really not worth bothering stopping at this location. read more

DO NOT GO HERE, save your time and go to a further Sally's. They are friendly until something like a coupon or discounts get in the way they do not even try to co-operate or listen. I tried to use my coupon that is but 2 get on free for HAIR products. I had grabbed my 3 products and saw a satin Bonner to throw in. Guess what happened? She took the bonnet off that was $4 and all the rest of the hair products were over $10? I had told her and showed it and she still said she couldn't do anything about it and only would refund me the $4. I don't like to argue nor do I like to be played as a fool so I just returned everything and that's when she sighed smh. I'm just going to go to my local one and NEVER coming to this one again. Please steer clear , what boggles me is that she tried to con me? And wasn't surprised at all more mad that I had realized. Listen to the reviews!
