I'm a 65-year-old woman who was ready for a big transformation -- not to look like someone else, but to feel like myself again. I started by interviewing several surgeons because I was planning to have a lot done and I wanted it to look natural. Many had great reviews and seemed capable, but Dr. Kim stood out from the very beginning. She was thoughtful, thorough, and so knowledgeable. My first consult with her lasted about an hour, and the second one went for two full hours. She took tons of notes on everything I said. I remember walking out thinking, She's the one. So, what did I have done? Quite a bit! I had a face, neck, and brow lift; fat grafting (used as filler in my facial area); lower eyelid blepharoplasty; and perioral dermabrasion on my upper lip. I was under anesthesia for around 8.5 hours. From pre-op to post-op, the process was easy to follow and honestly kind of seamless. I've had zero complications -- none. Now I'm two months out, and I feel fabulous. I think I look refreshed and natural -- not overdone at all. My scars are already fading, and I'd say I look 10 to 15 years younger. My neck was my biggest issue going in, and now it's one of my favorite results -- absolutely perfect. An unexpected perk? The fat grafting has improved my skin quality. My complexion is much clearer now, and the age spots I used to have are barely visible. Dr. Kim also has such great bedside manner. She's professional and focused but also warm and easy to talk to. The issue was the delivery, the judgmental tone, and the lack of professionalism and compassion throughout the interaction. At one point he even rolled his eyes while I was trying to explain myself. No patient should leave a consultation feeling humiliated or psychologically analyzed instead of medically evaluated. Recently, she tried to use it--only to find out the balance was $0. There were no purchases made on it, which leads me to believe the card was never activated properly at the time of purchase. I've tried multiple times to contact the store directly, but the phone system just loops back to the main menu with no way to speak to an actual person. I also reached out to Sephora customer service, and instead of resolving the issue, I was told to go back to the store (which is not close to me) or dispute the charge with my bank because this is apparently a "common" issue. That response alone is unacceptable. If this is a known problem, why isn't there a better process in place to support customers? This was meant to be a thoughtful gift, and instead it turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience. Between the lack of accountability, poor customer service, and no real resolution, this has completely changed how I view Sephora. I hope this review helps others double-check their gift cards before leaving the store--and I sincerely hope Sephora improves how they handle situations like this.
