Can't really blame the lowly employee but was refused service due to my medical disability that I can't wear a mask. I even showed the lady my medical exemption card. I stated u get short of breath and cannot wear one. The problem is being shamed for my disability as she said that doesn't matter to her and that I have to wear a mask. 1. We know masks do not help at all unless n95 and up. 2. There were others in the store without masks on (under chin). 3. I showed my medical exemption disability card. Some businesses don't know this yet as it's newer but they are a "public accommodation" business. They BY LAW must have accommodations in place for disabilities same as if I was in a wheel chair. She embarrassed me in front of other patrons by reading my medical card outloud. I can't get mad at her for ignorance but I can get mad for her prejudice and judgment. I don't buy a lot there so it makes no difference, I am not going to make them lose money. But it's pretty frustrating being treated that way. Maybe I could have just held my breath as our the mayor of Los Angeles says since he doesn't wear a mask at all. Done with Sally's since they discriminate against medical disabilities. They have broken the law by not educating their employees on this. It's not like everyone can have a physician hand these out! Lacking customer service and can do attitude. Crystal the store manager just does not have it. I purchased an item by mistake and before leaving the shopping center I walked back in the store wanting to return it to find out that there are no returns on that item. I mentioned to her that I had just purchased it 5 minutes ago.. I was hit by a very rude attitude. These ladies get commission! Of course they're not trying to help a return!... I requested they call customer service and of course they agreed to return my item being that it was purchased less than 5 minutes prior. Honestly this all could have been avoided If the store manager had better training at what customer service really means... I definitely will not be returning to this location or any at that. I don't visit many beauty supply salons, but this one seems to be pretty slim on the selection for men. I went in on an chance that they might have some hair product for men. When I was browsing the sales girl asked if I needed help. Upon asking for the men's section she pointed out the 2 choices of hair product. Yeap 2 total. She was nice but the selection is very lacking for us guys. Guess we aren't the target shopper here. Heck I think a grocery store or drug store like CVS or Rite Aid has more to offer for guys. read more

Came in this store on my day off a couple of months ago and was in here for about an hour. Not one employee greeted or asked if they could help me find anything. Both people working were just talking to each other the whole time. I work retail too, and I get that sometimes y'all don't wanna talk to customers much, but at least do the bare minimum of greeting customers. I went to this Sally Beauty because it is close to my work. When I arrived at 4:20 pm the lights were on but the metal doors were closed. I thought it was their Covid hours, but as I was backing out of my parking spot, the metal grates were open so I parked again. Inside I was greeted by a woman that asked if I needed help. I was looking for a gel top coat that doesn't require a lamp. She took me to the product, explained that it would be the hardest tip coat and a bit thicker than a regular top coat. It was a bit pricey but I decided to try it anyway. I also asked about a specific file that I have not been able to find online - she told me because it is really a buffer, so I learned something new. I was pleased with my over all experience and will definitely return to this location. read more

Oh, I love Sally's! They're like a little piece of the 'hood without the crime, liquor stores and drivebys. Sally Beauty is a place where folks from every walk of life can get their hair, skin and nail care products. I needed a hair dryer with a comb attachment, and they had exactly what I was looking for. Sure, the box had a picture of a man bearing a striking resemblance to Steve Harvey with a high top fade and a Gold Suit on, but hey, it was what I needed! (I don't think I've ever seen a brother blow dry his hair, though, so I should have been suspect). The staff is always friendly , down to earth and helpful. I swear though, EVERY Sally I've been to looks the same! Bright fluorescent lights, loud bells announcing your entrance, fake hair, do rags, and the cheap K-Mart boom box on the floor in the corner playing R&B ... So ghetto, yet oh so right! read more

I decided to come to this Sally's location and I have to say it's by far the most cleanest, organize and helpful staff . The staff seems they know there beauty products and we're really helpful. Got the chance to meet the manager and she was so nice. She greeted me and help me out personally and took the extra step to help me out, ( I was undecided about a color i took too long lol) She didn't rush me instead she was really patient. The worse customer service ever ! They don't ever have anything in stock and the sales people are rude and act like they would rather be out somewhere else. They make up policies that no other store has . I have been in the store on multiple times and each time it just worse and worse . If you don't know what you are talking about don't say anything. You know how there is a good Denny's and then there's the bad Denny's? Well this is one of the good Sally's! Probably having to do with its location in Awesometown, this Sally's is clean and always has the hair color you need in stock. This location always seems to have a larger than usual selection of nail polish too. The workers here are the usual beauty school students but they are very helpful. For all of my hair color needs, this is my place to shop. Tip: Bring your own bag. Like most places in Awesometown, they don't carry plastic bags - but unlike most places in Awesometown, they don't offer a brown bag option. read more

Wonderful customer service. This is my second time here and my experience was the same. i even notice the same lady working there. She said her name was Maggie. She helped me with hair color products, shampoos, and products for my curly hair. I plan to go to this store again. I was so glad this place was not like canyon country. Canyon Country store by Food4less the ladies there did not really give me the experience that this store did. They were to busy looking up on the mirrors on the ceiling for people stealing. just really weird talking to them and they are looking up. Not professional at all. I've felt compelled to write this review after receiving top quality care from Salleys beauty supply and their amazing associates!!! I had a serious hair color correction issue. I needed to take my intense deep violet/purple hair back to my ash blonde in 2 days. I went to a few salons and was quoted $300-$600 for a color correction ad told it would be a long process over a span of time. Not in my Budget, not in the time frame I had to work with. I went straight to Sally's beauty supply in hair crisis mode, I was immediately greeted and calmed by the help of 2 girls, Kelsey and Desirae. These girls provided excellent customer service, strong product knowledge, and a high level of professionalism. Together they collaborated to help me achieve my color. Despite being weary of myself, knew I was in good hands, followed their hand written instructions and the next day I was back to maybe my best color blonde ever! An added plus my hair felt soft, Undamaged and looked spectacular! No need to spend $300-$600 at a salon. With the girls help I was out the door having only spent $23.00!!!! Just walked into Sally's Beauty Supply and asked the clerk if a certain product would leave my hair oily , she rudely said yes, and she did offer to show another product. When she returned with it, I asked her if it would help with breakage as well, she Rudely said NO than stormed off and put the product back!!! Never offered to help me find something that would work for my hair. I had other items in my hand that I was going to purchase and after that rude encounter I put all 3 of the items back. I will not give my business to this rude establishment. The person who was extremely rude and obviously hates her job was short, heavy set female with very short haircut. First off, the 1 star is for bad store policy and I hope it encourages them to improve. The employees were very nice and I have nothing against them. I came in with my youngest daughter because she wanted to color her hair lilac. Now, my experience with hair color is limited, I color my wife's hair, and I've colored my oldest daughters hair. Always box products like Loreal, never had any issues. But this was lilac, and I wanted some advice. I'm sure many, more experienced people, will tell you always test a small portion of hair before coloring. But me, I've only used the box products and never had any issue, so I did not have this experience. No, I did not ruin my daughter's hair, so good there. However, the Arctic Fox hair color my daughter wanted to purchase did nothing (well, slight lilac tinge you can sometimes see in the right light and if you are closely inspecting her hair). Used 3 bottles. Followed all directions for application. Hair was saturated with product. Store response. No refunds if it doesn't work. So, what's with the 1 star. I came to Sally's for advice and I discussed my experience with hair coloring. Unfortunately, they never warned me to test first. Well, you may think I should know better; but, my experience never prepared me for this. And, since I was there asking for help, it would be prudent on someone with more experience and more expertise, someone who sells these products and represents this market, to step up and provide good advice. Now; I feel that all they cared about was making a sale. I will not shop here ever again because I feel they cannot be trusted. If you don't stand behind the products you sell, then you are no better than a con artist. read more

I have been going to this Sallys now for the past 4 years. I'm now writing a review because they cleaned up their act. They have a new manager Maggie and she is really helpful. In the past a lot of the girls were rude and always had attitudes and when asked to see if they carried an item or if they could call another store, I pretty much was made to feel like I was bothering them. I'm pleased with the turn around in this location. There are several girls that are really helpful when I've been in the last few times and the store is much more organized and clean. I stopped coming to sallys for awhile because of their customer service, but it definitely got my bussiness back. read more

Absolutely have to write this review. Completely disgusted by the manager they have here. Had the nerve to tell me I was exchanging color too much and they would not exchange anything for me again. I have been coming to this sally's for 6 plus years and am a valued customer. If your employees are recommending colors to me and they are not working, it makes no sense to keep a color that does not work, but to try a different color. Went to this store to look for some Extensions, was willing to purchase a good quality brand, when I walked in the worker was on the phone, did not offer to assist me when she offered help she was still on the phone did not hang up the phone. Finally when she got off the phone so I went to ask her what she recommends she rolled her eyes as if I was a bother to her making it very uncomfortable for me to ask any additional question.
