Now I'm slowly decreasing the "junk food" and "salt" and there is no better way than to start it with Chinese food. Now I know from what I ordered I should of opt out of the soy sauce but here we are now :) The rice was the best thing going here. 3/5 because I believe it was the husband had a tantrum or something when I asked could I get a paper menu. The food is absolutely delicious. I have a great experience every time I come here. Most of the workers are teens and are extremely kind, friendly, and helpful. They also go out of their way to make sure you get the most out of your order for even the slightest tip. You can tell the food is made with care. My usual spot had already closed, so I thought I'd try a Chinese restaurant I hadn't been to. If you are a pescatarian or vegetarian, prepare to be eating chicken. My sesame shrimp and vegetable egg roll were clearly cooked in the same grease as the chicken. It was an overwhelmingly disgusting taste for someone who hasn't consumed poultry in over a decade. Technically a 2.5 Star. Small Chinese take out restaurant that reminds me somewhat of my beloved NY Chinese spots. They have a health department rating of A/91 so I figured I was off to a decent start. The service was okay. Nothing remarkable, but I was greeted as I walked in and my order was walked out in front of the counter & handed over to me. No complaints there. We ordered 2 meals: honey chicken wings with shrimp fried rice and sweet & sour chicken with fried rice. The best part of the honey chicken meal was the fried rice. This place deserves more then just 5 star. I think I've finally found my fav. Chinese restaurant. It's 1 of the "VERY" Best Chinese food I've ever had. The fried rice is amazing. Lo Mien is one of the besttt I've ever eaten. (No lies and I'm not affiliated with them in any way.) fried chickens wings are fresh & crispy. It's been years since I've eaten food from this restaurant so I was impressed that it has out lasted all the other businesses in the strip mall. Food Lion nor Ingles have made the cut so, I figured the food is probably pretty good. I ordered shrimp fried rice by phone and was given a 10 minute wait time. I walked into the place about 15 minutes later and noticed a great health department score on the wall (91 A). I received my order within about 5-7 minutes after walking in and headed home. I opened the box when I arrived home... The first thing I noticed was that the tiny shrimp had not been deveined. Second thing I noticed was that there weren't many vegetables at all. I saw 1 pea and a little piece of egg. The rice was really dark like maybe it was soaked in soy sauce. I figured I would taste the rice and avoid the shrimp, but it didn't taste right either. Got the sesame chicken, fried rice, and crab wontons. This is the best seseme chicken in Gwinnett County so far. Only thing is I would add more sauce/stickiness to the chicken, but that's a personal preference. Fried rice and crab wontons were meh. Will give it another try some day. They're food here is pretty good but the delivery man is very rude. He's a tall, older gentlemen but every time we leave him a tip for the delivery, he complains that it's too little. Jade Dragon is a small Chinese take-out place. The few times that I've ordered here, I've gotten a combo dinner, which comes with an egg roll, chicken wings, rice, and an entree. The food can usually last me two meals, and I would say it's better than Panda Express (or any fast food Chinese restaurants you find at the mall). It's great for the cheap price. The person at the cashier has been friendly every time I've visited. She likes to make jokes and make conversation while you wait for your food or pay. Dirty little Chinese restaurants are my guilty pleasure. I mean that in the best way possible. This is the take out Chinese we grew up on befoer we knew what real Chinese food was. On the wall are newspaper clippings over a decade old highlighting their winning best of Gwinnett. Out front, the tiny patch of dirt has been utilized as a small tomato garden. A little hint of life in hollowed out parking lot of suburban blight. The same lady is always working the counter. I figure she is putting in at least 60 hours per week. She is always very nice to me. Though, regarding the previous comment about rude service. I like rude service? What? Hear me out. Americans expect killer customer service.. to a fault. Whenever i see small Chinese woman scolding the customer I smile a little bit. "you no order right. me no rikey. You go now!" Here is a concept I'd like to see more of. Be Patient, Polite and extremely gratefull when someone is making you food. Customer service should be a two way street. I ordered the szechuan beef with light sauce. Went with the veg fried rice. it is savory and spicy. There is some magic in the bamboo shoots too.
