Good service and great food! I had a classic burger which was made with grass fed beef, a big plus for me. It came with garlic Rosemary Fries, which were good. My friend ordered tacos with lettuce. Unfortunately, the lettuce weren't washed all the way and had some dirt on my bottom. They took it away with no problem and re-made the dish for her. They looked and tasted great. I thought the price was reasonable, and the food was great. I think they could've accommodated my friend's meal, but it's not a big deal breaker. Since option #1 was closed in regards dinner for tonight, we went with this place, and was pleased with our choice here! We both had an Elk burger, which was very tasty! I was very surprised on how good the french fries were! Nice and crispy like fries should be, and fresh! For drinks, I went with a Udaho pale Ale, which was very good, and she went with the house Root Beer- probably one of the better Root Beers I have tasted! Good food, but horrible service. And...isn't that why someone would open a restaurant? To provide both? 1. The girls outside were so out of sinc that they forgot we wanted a table for 2 and let in TWO parties in before us. 2. Our wait for a table was stated as 10 minutes when we signed up... it ended up being 30 minutes. 3. We asked our waiter for water- he brought it and ran off; no straws. No comments. 4. I asked TWO waiters for something as simple as pickle juice for my salad- as salad dressing (I have a dairy allergy) so I have to improvise and the first never came back, the other said the restaurant did not carry pickle juice, finally when I asked a random waitress, she brought back a little thing of pickle juice. 5. The waiters and waitresses seem to be kids who just need a summer job, but they don't really take their job seriously. read more

Our last visit to McCall was a couple years ago and this summer when arrived in town again we couldn't wait to come back here! Great beers, great food, and atmosphere. In fact we came here two days in a row! We hit happy hour the first day and had the pretzel and pickle spears from the happy hour menu - great deals! The pretzel we would get again for sure! And we tried the pub fries also - very good, so good in fact we got them 2 days in a row! My favorite beer this visit was the grapefruit gold a very refreshing summer beer! In the two days we enjoyed both the interior atmosphere and the sunny patio where dogs are welcome. This is a great brewery and we will continue to visit on future trips to McCall! read more

Decided to go to McCall on a whim one weekend, one day overnight with my wife and her mom. Hockey playoffs were on that night and I had to find a good place that had a tv to watch the game. We all came here for dinner, and I was going to stay to watch the game. I had been here before a couple years prior, but never had their food. We started with the SRB pub fries which were pretty good. "Beer battered fries tossed in garlic rosemary salt, topped with bacon, Parmesan, with SRB's spicy aioli." Solid. My wife ordered the pub style fish and chips. She said they were pretty good. Not the best she has ever had. But good. I then ordered the black n blue elk burger. This was really good! "1/3 lb elk with Gorgonzola crumbles, grilled onions, bacon, SRB's spicy aioli, lettuce and tomato." If there is an elk or bison burger on the menu, that's what I will typically get. Also bacon and bleu cheese?! My favorite! After we ate, my wife and mother in law left to go back to the cabin. I stayed, enjoyed a couple delicious beers, and a great Hockey game. read more

We showed up to McCall in the evening and headed straight for Salmon River Brewery to grab a local brew, before camping at nearby Ponderosa State Park. We were seated promptly by friendly servers and both of us ordered their Buzz Buzz Coffee Porter... Yum! We then shared an order of fish and chips (with substituted sweet potato fries), as well as another side order of garlic rosemary fries.... also Yum! At this point our glasses were empty so we chased down the remainder of the fries with another round... again, Yum! All said and done, this was pretty good food, excellent local craft beer and decent service... all in a fantastic location. read more

This is definitely an upgrade from the McCall brewing company in town. The service was super friendly, COVID protocols were followed, and the beer was great! We had the Udaho Golden ale and the Inland Surfer IPA and loved them so much, we purchased a couple of to-go cans. I thought this place was very solid and had some unique items on the menu. Chicken wings are a must but pass on the root beer float, something is wrong there but not sure what. Portabella burger was epic which is inline with the extensive gluten free options that do not disappoint. I specifically had the Carne Asada street tacos, they are good but would not necessarily inspire a trip to this place on there own (wings would!!!). We're always looking for a pet friendly patio, and this place has one of them. About a block off the lake with a lake view. The patio was busy and the service was a little spotty. Didn't really get a good look at the inside restaurant. Our server was great, when he was around. There were long lapses on checking back with us for another round, to find out if our food was o.k. or get us the bill. We tried one of the house stouts and blond ales, and both were enjoyable. We had a soft pretzel to go with the beers. The pretzel was good, but we would have loved a cheese sauce instead of plain mustard. read more

Avoid the tacos unless you LOVE horseradish! I had high hopes for this place. Ordered the tacos with cod which earned a vote of approval from the bartender. When I received them I was surprised to find them drizzled with horseradish - NOT noted on the menu despite other clear descriptors like "queso fresco". Unfortunately it did not pair well with cod or the lovely slaw it came with. I thought it was an honest mistake - perhaps someone in the kitchen mixed up sauces in a Saturday evening rush. I inquired with the bartender about the sauce and they seemed surprised there was an issue and not aware of this pairing. They kindly ordered me a new plate - without the sauce (also do not recommend eating without sauce). It was later confirmed that yes, horseradish is what comes on the tacos. Overall the beer was good, the service was good, but truly feel the food was a complete waste of money as both plates resulted in extreme disappointment and the menu lacked clarity for such a distinct flavor not typically expected on tacos. At a minimum this should be disclosed on the menu for consumers to make an informed decision. read more

I'm from Portland so I may have high expectations, but I didn't like any of the beers here. I go for IPA's, but someone at our table described them tasting like "soy sauce"... Burger bun and fries were good. The elk burger was a bit chewy to me, I ordered medium but this was well done. Long wait gives this 2.5 stars. I didn't go to any other breweries in McCall, so nothing to compare it to. read more

Stood in a line for 20 minutes to get in not because it's packed but because they have a broken system hostess not at stand everyone running around no one knows what's going on then we get up and tell them we have a party of 5 and after letting us and everyone behind us wait for the 20 minutes he announces they close at 8 and they won't be taking anymore customers. An hour before they close? Seems like they need some management and apparently to change their hours if they stop taking customers an hour before their listed hours. read more

I love French fries and the Salmon River Brewery has the best French fries I have ever tasted in my 39 years on this planet. I was expecting so much better when I tried this place. The beers were good but the food was meh...I had the Salmon burger. It was dry and bland tasting...the fries were NOT garlic rosemary fries, they were basically potato wedges...for $18, I would expect better quality. I also had a side salad but it was served on a rectangle plate with a steak fork which made it very hard to eat (basically kept spilling over onto the table). Mediocre food + poor service = a below average experience I was told by the VP of Food and Beverage for a large hotel chain that if you are not visited by a waiter/waitress within 60-90 seconds of being seated, then it is best to just get up and leave. If you and/or your party is not enough of a priority to be attended to within that time frame, then it is generally a good indicator of the restaurant's service as a whole. At SRB, we waited more than 5 minutes before being acknowledged. The staff was frantically trying to handle a moderately busy evening of business. I understand that running an operation like this is no easy feat, however, I would think it to be in the best interest of the restaurant to not have the staff appear so stressed and overwhelmed. A restaurant's atmosphere contributes tremendously to the overall dining experience. The food took approximately 35 - 40 minutes to arrive and our waitress visited us infrequently (which was noticeable considering how long we ended up being there). After all of the waiting, the food was... mediocre. I would give the food itself 3 stars, however, I cannot separate the non-food elements from the rest of the overall experience. Poor service makes everything, even the food itself, seem worse. read more

Amazing food, comfortable and cool environment, incredible McCall brewed beer, and friendly service. Today (the day after Christmas) was decently busy, but our party of 12 got seated right away with prompt service. I got the Mahi Mahi tacos...WOW. Everything food and beer wise is great here, but my mouth is watering just talking about it. To sum it all up, there's some great little spots in McCall to eat. We frequent McCall regularly, as we are ski resort pass holders, so finding awesome food after a day on the runs is crucial to end the day on a high note. Unfortunately, that couldn't be said for Salmon River. We arrived shortly after they had opened for the day. The restaurant was nice and clean. We walked in to no one around to greet or determine where we sit. When we were sat, we were in the bar area and the only people in the entire restaurant. There were two servers working at the time. It took about 5 minutes for anyone to get us menus or drinks. We were brought our drinks and put in our orders of a spicy chicken sandwich and a salmon river cheeseburger with cheddar cheese. We got our food fairly quickly, but service of our server was subpar. My burger arrived with the wrong cheese on it, the burger was half the size of the bun and lacked flavor. The spicy chicken sandwich had no spice. Kind of defeats the title of the sandwich. Both dishes came with rosemary garlic fries, which were AWESOME. The flavor was great and the fries tasted amazing. The server never checked on us again. We ran out of our drinks (water and Dr. Pepper). Another couple came in to eat next to us. When I went to take a drink, he swung by to grab our cups on his way to get their order. When he brought them by, he brought a sour Dr. Pepper back. We then had to ask for our check because he didn't come back to our table. We would have been much better off going to My Father's Place to get a stellar order and flavor. Unfortunately, we won't be back because there is nothing to write home about with this place. read more

We showed up on Thursday evening and where told there was no food being served (understood) - tried it out tonight (Friday) - 45 minutes waiting outside looking at the awesome fish and chips. Seated - 1 1/2 hours later beer but no food. The bartender did apologize for the wait and said the first round was on them.... another 20 minutes and we left and came back to warm up leftovers. I came here for Winter Carnival and has an awful experience. It was advertised everywhere that it was happy hour 3 PM - 6 PM. My group of four went around 4 PM. We went and ordered off of the happy hour menu and our waitress didn't even give us the happy hour prices for anything we bought. She couldn't even answer our question about why we weren't getting happy hour prices like the brochures said and advertised. Then, I also went to use the restroom and the fire sprinkler in the women's restroom starting showering all over me while using the restroom. I went to go find the manager and told him my story, and he just said "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." And left me standing at the hostess desk with nothing. He didn't even check up on me or offer anything for my horrible experience and it was clear that I was standing in the restaurant drenched. read more

After we said we needed a minute he never came back, we saw him behind the bar tending to all the tables around us (which half came after us) and after 30 minutes we decided to flag another waiter down to see if he could take our order and he did.
