Horrendous service! Bartenders were rude to my friends and I from the moment we walked in. Will never go there again!

Good service at the bar and a Delicious Elk burger and Classic burger. Big selection of beer. Wine and ciders were good too.

This is a very cool mountain resort town pub with a great selection of brews! But their food menu needs serious work. We are perm residents here and are long time supporters of SRB and often bring guests there or recommend SRB to tourists. But - we are backing down from that strong support. Having mentioned the menu gaps many times to people at SRB as well as trying to reach the owners on several occasions, we are now moving our rating down to a three(3). The event that pushed us over the edge was a recent visit where personnel were rude when we politely noted that it would great to have some healthier choices - in fact an older fella with a beard who often bar-tends, actually turned his back to us and ignored us for the balance of our visit. We were with local friends and their family visiting from out of state and we dropped a considerable amount of coin...you can fix this SRB - it really is not that hard. read more

Hmmm..... this restaurant used to be excellent. The "no line during his the 4th week" should have been an indicator. This is a great place if you just want apps and excellent beer. But our food was fairly sub par. Burgers were seriously overdone which leads me to believe they were all frozen. Super slow food service so you'll have to commit to the wait. But the beer was great and so were the fried pickles. read more

Went there with my family to have dinner, was informed they had a 30-40 minute wait, so we decided to go to the new upper deck portion adjacent to the restaurant and experienced the rudest bartender I have ever encountered. Attempted to order a Udaho Gold, she stated they were out, then asked for a Belgian Blonde and she stated they were out of that as well. I asked,"Do you have any other light beer other than water"? She obviously has no sense of humor and followed up with McCall Brewery maybe has what your looking for. I told her that is exactly what I'll be doing. To say the least the service sucks along with how disorganized they are with the new upper deck. You can't even order soda up there for your kids and the menu is limited. Went there twice prior to this visit and they literally were down to two items left on their already limited appetizer menu. I recommend going to McCall Brewery for sure, faster friendlier service with a menu that has everything on it. read more

I *really* want to like this brewery, because we all know how much McCall could use some decent food. Unfortunately, this ain't it. I've given Salmon River multiple times to impress me, and they've fallen flat every time - so here's my final verdict: go eat somewhere else. No matter how hipster cool this place appears to be (that cornhole does look enticing, doesn't it?), you'll walk away disappointed and broke. Tonight we tried, yet again, to eat here. And the experience always starts the same: you wait. And there's alway confusion as to whether you've been helped or not (apparently no hired hostess?) and you're always in the way of the servers while you wait in the middle of a food thoroughfare. So after we finally get to an employee who attempts to seat us, our section's server informs us that, "he can't take us because he just got sat with a 5-top". So, because this dude's in the weeds at 4:00pm on a Tuesday, we stand in the midst of the food highway for another 7 minutes until he decides that we are, in fact, now allowed to sit down. From that point on, we didn't have one set server. We just had random people stop by every once and while. We could see our beers just sitting in the outdoor service window for at least 5 minutes before we walked over and asked for them, and eventually someone dropped off some very mediocre food. Cold, unseasoned pork tacos (they're supposed to be served that way, apparently?), luke warm soup with un-warmed bread, and a dry brisket sandwich. We had another sever approach our table to tell us that she wasn't supposed to allow the fish tacos to come in lettuce wraps, so they would make the exception this ONE time. Not only did we already have our food, and that wasn't our order, but wtf you won't give me lettuce with my tacos if I want it? The fries are always amazing, so if you do decide to eat there, stick with the beer and french fries. And a game of cornhole. That's about all the good things this place has to offer. read more

Excellent beer and food! Great location, some tables have views of the lake too. Beer prices are reasonable, a pint is $4.50. The spicy chicken sandwich was huge and delicious, french fries crispy and great flavor. Tried the beer cheese soup which was also wonderful. If you like good locally brewed beer and excellent food check them out. read more

This a great brew pub with some good beers and a nice menu. We had a wonderful seat on their back deck overlooking the lake and mountains so you can't beat the view but the atmosphere of the tap room was pretty cool also. They had a seasonal barleywine that was quite nice and a barleywine is always a good measure of a brewery. They also had a tasty imperial porter on tap. Check it out! read more

Great views from the patio. Menu selection is very small but everything we ordered was delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful also.

Pretty bad service. Wait was incredibly long! They cannot handle summer weekend traffic. We had to ask for the basics like sugar with iced tea, then had to ask again, ask for ketchup with fries, etc. They did tell us they were "5 minutes behind"! in the kitchen, which was laughable since the wait for food was an hour! Not much there for kids. Gourmet Mac and cheese and no coloring books or anything to help the wait. Food was mediocre too. The burger had no sauce of any kind. Lame. Won't come here again. Several people highly recommended it to us. I *might* try again without kids and in the off season. Total time spent on lunch here on a Sunday at 1 pm in July was 2 hours! read more

The beer is pretty plain. There are a bunch of flavors but I don't think they have the base beer skills to be so experimental. I had the spicy chicken sandwich and it tasted like a less flavorful chic file sandwich. Beer cheese soup was extremely bland. Sat at the bar and only got one beer because some snowboarder buddies of the bartender came in and apparently they were more important. One of the waiters leaned over our food twice to grab a pen instead of walking around the bar. There are two other breweries in town with better beer and McCall has much better food and atmosphere. read more

First time reviewer...ever. But when an experience is bad. It's bad. I want to like this place, but the service is inexcusable. I'll speak specifically to the last two times I've been in. About 10 months ago I came in with my three daughters and they looked at me like i was insane to bring children. I told her we would be quick and out of her hair. However...it's hard to be quick when it takes 45 minutes to get your food. Fast forward to lunch on a Wednesday. The patio was pretty full, but inside was empty. They seated us (4 adults / 5 kids). When she finally got our drink order it was the only drink in the hour wait it took to get food. How is that possible? Didn't she want the beer sales? During the hour wait for food she checked on our table exactly zero times. I literally had to go find her to figure out what was going on because it had been so long since we put our order in. We ordered fries as an appetizer (to satiate the children). Do you think we ever saw those? Yeah no. I don't know if I have had two bad servers in a row or if this is a management issue or what...but skip this place. SKIP. Go to Chapalas and have a delicious margarita or enjoy lunch on a patio that overlooks the lake at Shore Lodge. Or Mile High Marina. Or My Father's Place. Or or or...drive back to Boise for food. Because that just might be quicker. read more

Great selection of beer, nice atmosphere, very friendly wait staff. Our food got out to us quickly (we showed up during a very crowded Belgium-USA World Cup game), which was great after getting back from a hike. I had the salmon tacos, and while they were a little dry, the seasoning on the salmon was some of the best I've ever had on fish. This place is incredibly laid back, has 12 of their own on tap at any given point, tries a bunch of styles and generally succeeds. It's not Russian River but it would succeed in most major beer cities without a problem. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting the McCall area! read more

They were SOOO packed but were pros at handling the volume. Kept their cool, were so efficient AND friendly. Got us to a table way before the expected time, and the service did NOT suffer for the crowds they were handling. Great beers, great food, cozy atmosphere. Loved it! read more

We just went there last night and I have to say most of the food was absolutely delicious! I actually wasn't crazy about what I ordered, I got the salmon tacos and I wasn't expecting them to be cold so I was a little disappointed I don't really care for cold tacos. But I tasted the macaroni with chicken, bacon, and jalapeño amazing! They also have the best fries and sweet potato fries. Then came dessert I believe it was called the chocolate buzz cake, it was served with a chocolate porter caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream the texture of this cake is so dense, moist and absolutely mouthwatering! Next time I'm in town I will definitely be visiting this pace again! read more

Great craft beer. If you aren't into dark beer try the Udaho and you may not be able to go back to drinking the big football-ad beers. This place is the perfect location right on the lake and within walking distance to the hotels and other downtown businesses. Don't miss out on the chance to spend a meal or evening here if you are in town. If you are lucky enough to be in town when they have live music you are in for a treat. My wife and I love visiting the Salmon River Brewery. The food is delicious, the beers aren't bad either and you can't beat the view from the patio. We decided to take the kids along on our last visit. We were a little worried since our kids our such picky eaters. My son had a cheeseburger and said, "At first I thought it was ok. Then the next thing I know I was riding a cheeseburger through the cosmos and the stars were all cheeseburgers." He then went on to rave about his burger the rest of the evening. We all had a good laugh at his excitement. I had the black and blue elk burger and it was amazing. We also love their fish and chips are their rosemary fries. They might be a little pricey but that is what you get in a vacation town like McCall Idaho. It has become one of our favorite spots. read more

Salmon River Brewery or SRB has become one of our favorite stops in McCall. I wait for months to get an elk burger there which is delicious! The service has always been good and when it gets real crowded it slows down a little which is understandable. The beer is great especially the Udaho. The prices for everything might seem a bit low, considering the high quality of the product. Give a bigger tip! read more

Salmon River Brewery is fantastic! Great atmosphere, service, and of course beers.

The beer was good. It went downhill from there. We arrived at about 4p, off season. It was not even half full. I ordered a salad with seared ahi. The fish was completely raw when it arrived - not even warm. I asked if it could be seared...just a little more...explaining that this was completely raw and I would like it seared lightly. Big mistake apparently. The server took my salad and the Manager came out to tell me that it was "sushi grade" ahi and that it is supposed to be raw. She was very condescending and was clearly telling me that I was wrong to want it seared. When it was brought back, the ahi was cooked well-done. No pink at all. Might as well have been chicken. I like to assume good intentions, but this seemed deliberate. I contemplated paying for it and just not eating it..but decided to tell the server when she came back that it was well done. She took the salad back and said she would have it redone. I waited another 35 minutes (at this point my daughter is long since done eating).... it did finally come back seared but I will not be back. I am puzzled as to why they think anyone would want to wait that long for food that was cooked incorrectly and be schooled by the manager as to how I "should have wanted it"....try somewhere else.... read more

I went in around 9 for dinner with my fiancé. I got the Mac N Cheese with salad, he got the pork street tacos. My mac n cheese was good, maybe a bit on the small side for the price, but it was rich and filling so I'm not mad about it. Unfortunately, my fiancé's tacos were ice cold! I'm not talking cold corn shell, warm meat but the sauce made it cold-- no, it was like the whole thing came out of the fridge. I was really disappointed by this, on top of the fact that we had to wave down the bartender to serve us, despite multiple waitresses passing us at our table. They brought out my salad first without dressing, and then no silverware! I've experienced poor service here before, multiple times with one waitress who acts like she annoyed to be at work. Due to subpar service and a disappointing meal, I'd have to give this place 2 stars. Their cool atmosphere alone was just not enough to redeem them. read more
