This course is so fun!!! The staff were very friendly and made a delicious sandwich that was super reasonably priced...especially for the coast. There are several interesting tee boxes and plenty of nature to be seen. That being said make sure you leave the clubhouse with plenty of balls because if you hit out of the fairway you probably aren't going to find it! read more

Probably one of the most impressive and well kept secret in Brookings, Harbor! I really recommend this beautiful and scenic golf course in Brookings, Oregon. The service staffs are kind and friendly. The golf courses are immaculate and all new Gas Yamaha golf carts. The rounds of golf will set you back less than $40. Go and try. Their range balls are $5 for large. Excellent deal. read more

Thinking of playing golf here? Make sure you've got tons of golf balls. The four of us played a round of 18 holes today. Booked it via the homepage and got a special (free cart) each so green fees was $51 p/p. The course is very challenging. Very narrow and at times hilly. Ravines and creeks. Everyone should have an electric golf cart. It's almost impossible to do a push cart or walk it due to the nature of the course. Average ball loss - 6 to 12 p/p. Course is mostly par 4's, a couple of par 5's, and a few par 3's. Golfer should have some experience. It's definitely not a beginner's golf course. We finished playing in 4 hours which was very good. Kept up with the threesome ahead of us. In retrospect, we all enjoyed it, and great greens. We would go back to play now that we know the lay of the land. read more

This is one of the most beautiful courses we've been to. It's nestled in the hills above Brookings harbor. The holes are a lot more spaced out than any other course I've been to. But the scenery is extraordinary. There were a few places the course was being worked on but that didn't take away from the overall experience. The golf shop had a homey little cafe inside which was nice since our round took a few hours and I was chilly. The employees were always smiling and very welcoming when we saw them. Oh, almost forgot! There are blackberry bushes everywhere, so if you get hungry....:) but seriously, it was a really nice day. read more

My husband and I were staying in Brookings for a couple of days and driving around to check out the sites, we came upon Salmon Run. What a gem! We stopped into the pro shop and chatted with Jennifer for a little while. She was so professional and so nice. We decided that that I would actually rent some clubs and golf for the first time, ever. Tee time was set for the next day. I obviously can't speak from a golfer's perspective but I can tell you that my husband and I had the most wonderful time. He is a very, very, patient and awesome man and golfer! :) Don't ask me my score because it wasn't about that. It was about enjoying my first time out with my husband and trying something new and fun. The course is gorgeous, the crew was professional and courteous and I actually hit a few balls that encouraged me enough to keep at it. Without a doubt, when we come back here to Oregon, we'll head over the Brookings to play 18 holes at Salmon Run. read more

Very pretty views with deer on the course. Not a standard play course. Very narrow fairways. Use a club that goes straight or you will have a lost ball. That said it is a very short course if you play from recommended tees. I played a lot of three wood nine iron shots or five iron sand wedge shots and I'm a short hitter. Needs some better maintenance. Some bare areas in the fairways and some areas even in front of greens where a ball will plug. Rough has lots of grass clippings left on course. Lots of elevated tees. Needed more space to build on for a quality course. Some reviews say it can challenge Bandon Dunes. It would have a hard time matching most city courses. read more

This course is very challenging and demands pinpoint accuracy. If you an over 12 handicapper shelve your ego and your driver and play the club tees (5400 yds.) and you'll have more fun. I lost 4 balls but had 2 birds and 6 pars using this strategy. The setting along the Chetco Rivers is beautiful. The course is in great shape with big undulating greens. The sand traps have green sand. read more

This place is a joke of a golf course. Went there in December (off season), but it's the Oregon Coast and coursed are designed to be played year round. I have worked in the golf industry as an Assistant Superintendent for 9 years and have never seen anything like this. We literally sunk in the fairway up to our ankles in mud and water. I don't even know why they had the course open. You would hit a perfect shot to the middle of the fairway and the ball would plug so bad it would disappear. There is no drainage and being next to a river and several creeks this place floods often. Very poorly designed. Basically not walkable due to the elevated tees and long distances between holes. I think the course architect designed this place for a post card and not to play golf on. No bunkers on the course except for the one on the signature hole. Probably due to them washing out, or filling with water too frequently that they did away with all of them. Sad to say, but I don't know how this place stays in business. Hopefully during the summer this place is a totally different golf course. read more

This was a fun little golf course. It was challenging. You must be a good ball striker to enjoy a round at this course. Lots of dog legs but the greens were in very good shape and rolling at a good speed. If you don't hit it straight bring lots of extra golf balls overall it was fun but get a cart!!! In my opinion this is a nice course. Great greens and for the most part well maintained. The men's club makes the rules and tells management how things are to be run. Home of the good ol boys. Fortunately there are other choices for golf. This club has lots of potential but the above mentioned circumstances get in the way of its success. read more
