Came here from NYC and wasn't impressed . The place was fairly empty when we went. Only two other tables were occupied. Our waitress Franchely was very nice but I think it was too much for her to do on her own. She was making drinks and bringing our orders. The other worker was doing nothing but sitting there. Didnt help her at all. This should he comprised of teamwork. We ordered the bandeja familiar at $95, which is fine, however you didn't bring any sauce with it, no mayo ketch, no ketchup, no mojito, no limón. We had to ask for it. Franchely then comes back with one of those jello sized portions of chimichurri sauce, homegirl did you not see this bandeja how big it is? Everything was dry and what wasn't dry was too greasy. The chuletas can can were mega oily. The tostones were rock hard not edible. Everything else was meh. We ended up taking the whole thing home, maybe to feed the dogs. The octopus was bad. It seems as if it was sitting there for a while. It wasn't tasty. It was bland. The peppers weren't crunchy. It was a big soggy mess and room temperature warm., not chilled The drinks here are on point. They're tasty, delicious but don't expect to get tipsy. Its all sugar and juice. Lastly, I asked my waitress if she can so something for my friends bday? I suggested the staff singing her happy birthday and she said yes that's fine., however she did absolutely nothing. Totally forgot about the whole thing. I was so annoyed by that but didnt argue because my friends were eager to leave anyway. Salmorejo does a fantastic job advertising but don't believe the hype. You're paying for the decor and drinks, food sucks. My friends and I took advantage of taking pics everywhere. I gave two stars because the waitress wasn't rude, the drinks were tasty, and decor was cute. read more

Delicious authentic Puerto Rican food! The mofongo was cooked perfectly and not overly salty or greasy/buttery which can happen. Lots of restaurants like to give you salad shrimp but not Salmorejo, the shrimp were pretty big and juicy. Nothing is worse than eating overcooked seafood but you don't have to worry about that here. The drinks are delicious and the owner was our bartender. I joked that my first drink must not have been made by a Puerto Rican and boy did he show me up on my next drink. Definitely a place to visit. Great food, ambiance and staff! read more

The reason for the three stars was because service was horrible. The server took our drink order and came back 20 min later with our drinks, We had to ask the other servers to please find him so we can place our food order. I actually had to get up and look for him so we can place our order and with all that he took forever to come over. You see that I don't appreciate. Now on drinks and food that was good. Their drinks are so good. The pina colada was to die for and the jolly rancher slushes wow so good. We ordered a pizza for the table and that was delicious. The vibe of the place was great. The outside is very spacious and everything was sanitized before we sat down. Next time I'm on the island I will go back but will make sure to have a different server. read more

It's a bit "loud" if you're looking for a place to talk or more quiet. However, the atmosphere is good, the service is excellent, and the food was very good. I leave photos because the presentation is very good, the piña colada is very good! and good food. Personally, the fish tacos had too much salad for my taste but they were delicious, nothing that couldn't be solved. read more

Awful !!!!! Don't waste your time here. First the service was terrible , just one server. The owner is very rude. The food was dry and old. The bathrooms were not clean. Only the jolly rancher mojitos were good. One thing that I like about yelp is that they don't erase your comments or the restaurant can't block you. I left a comment on Facebook and the restaurant erased my comment and now I can't comment in any of their post. Why you have to do that? Easy , they want only good reviews. I love yelp for many reasons! Don't come here ! Many other restaurants around with much better food. read more

TLDR: This is one of those tourist traps that deserve negative stars. Crappy food and even worse service and management. We spent $180 to wait over 3 hours for food and we still left hungry. I was at this place yesterday with 5 other people. It took 20 minutes just to be seated and once we were, it took another hour to get the waitress over to us. She was too busy taking pictures with a giant cocktail and dancing to come over. She never once offered us water, and it was 85 degrees out. Nor did she ever bring menus. We had to go to the bar twice to get assistance. Then she complained that she got in trouble for us asking at the bar. So we get our piña colada's an hour and a half after being seated. She dropped them off and went back to dancing and we had to wait even longer to order. Then it takes over an hour for us to get our appetizers. We asked her why it was taking so long and she got really nasty. She said she told us it would take an hour to get it order (she never did!) and actually went to get the check to prove how long it was. Girl, stop lying. At that point it was close to 3 hours total! Her other tables had the same issue, but there were other groups who arrived after us that got food right away. I felt really bad for some of our group who ordered main courses. They ended up taking them to go. Unfortunately a lot of the tables around us did the same. The shrimp empanadas I got had the tiniest little shrimp in them, and they tasted like dirt. And there was a black spot in one of them that looked suspiciously like it didn't belong there. I just couldn't eat it. The piña colada was ok, but heavy on the rum and whipped cream. We spent over 3 hours there and missed out on going to the beach yesterday. Stay away fellow Yelpers. There are plenty of other cute photo op places with better food. read more

This is by far one of the nicer places in the area. Large outdoor dining space, big picturesque drinks, large portions good to share. Looks like a food truck concept all put into one restaurant. They said the place gets packed out mid day. Our server was really nice and the security guard was great, personable and informative of the area. Unfortunately it kind of feels like in the middle of nowhere, since all the beaches are closed again over here there's not much else to do in the area, not even taxis or bike rentals either so be prepared to walk if you have no car (or wait a very long time for a cab from two towns away). read more

Isabel, my wife, and I went out for a weekend drive around the eastern shore of the island and she jokingly called it a chinchorreo. For those of you who are not familiar that is the Puerto Rican word for bar-hopping where you visit various places and have a drink and a snack, maybe dance a little, and move on to the next place. I was mostly out for the drive and to look around. As we are driving west from the southeastern end of the island we begin to see actual chinchorreo buses parked at roadside bars and restaurants along the way. Although it is only around 2pm on this beautiful Saturday we could hear and see that the party was ON! OK - I had NOT left the house with the intent to go chinchorreando but now it seemed that I was in it like it or not so I went with it and we stopped at this place, mostly because it had actual parking. We each had an empanadilla and an ice cold Medalla. It's an open air place so the cold Medalla was great against the 90 degree day. The music was loud and everyone seemed to be having fun. Unfortunately the empanadillas were just OK and Isabel did not even finish hers. we continued up the road and stopped at a couple of other places just to take pictures and look around and were really impressed by the number of party buses that we saw in this area. We had high hopes for this place. The vibe is great but the music is so loud that you literally have to scream for the people across the table to hear you. The drinks are over rated (lots of sugar with little alcohol) and the food took over 2 hours to arrive. By the time the food arrived, we were anxious, hangry, and ready to go. Service was awful. Less than 30 people in the restaurant and it took them 1:40hr to to bring the food for 2. Once the food arrived the mofongo was cold and the carne frita was solid as a rock. This was Thursday at 1:15 pm so no rush hour, can imagine how would the service be during the weekend. I would recommend for bar only! read more

Waited more than 30 minutes in line to be seated, waiter passed by us several times and wouldn't talk to us although he made eye contact several times. Was not a busy eating hour, and hardly anyone was there, however we never did get to go in and try it. Smell from the water treatment plant right next to it was strong and unappetizing. Ordered fish with other seafood that was by far fresh. We ate the plantains and left the fish and other seafood.
