So when I made the appointment online I put in notes I have keratin treated hair but when I went to book it kept giving me weird error message about credit card so I called. They did not ask if I had any special treatment or anything but did ask on hair length and said they may charge extra which I was fine with. I arrived at my appointment and was greeted quickly by the stylist who quickly whisked me to the back to begin shampoo. She didn't ask me anything about my hair and quickly began shampooing. I learned from overhearing her talking to another stylist that she used clarifying shampoo.. which is a no-no for keratin treated hair. :( Then she put on what I assumed was the deep conditioner but not sure as she wasn't really talking to me. Just seemed very rushed. I tried to make small talk with her but she wasn't really having it so I gave up. She put me in this chair with red lights behind it which was cool- way better than standard heated station (whatever they call it)..but one of the lamps died and no one noticed as they were too busy talking to one another. When she came to get me I pointed it out but she just said "that's fine". After basic "how do you want your hair blown" and I said straight, she got to work. No heat protectant or anything like that. Double boo. My only thought with the not much talking etc was maybe she assumed I was "just" a Groupon customer, one to be tolerated but in and out as quickly as possible. Not realizing that 1) I tip very well and 2) I can't tell you how many businesses I've become a regular paying customer at because of an initial Groupon deal. (I've been seeing my eyebrow girl for 14 years due to a Groupon, my regular hair salon for 6 years, etc.) It's a shame as I live very close to this salon but probably won't be returning as I felt kind of unwelcome here and didn't get the best service. As jojo started we agreed to cut slightly more than what I initially came in for, because the ends were "dead". That was fine with me whatever but what was not fine, was when she started doing the shortest face framing layers, she grabbed a HUGE chunk of my hair. I asked her, " does it have to be that much hair" she told me in other words that it basically has to be that much hair to achieve the layers i want. I was uncomfortable, unsatisfied but I trusted her knowledge as a hairdresser that she knew what she was talking about. WRONG AND NEVER AGAIN! She cut so much of my hair that she claimed was to "blend the layers" in actuality HALF OF THE HAIR on my head is short asf while the other half was EXTREMELY uneven. This is the worst haircut I have ever gotten in my life. I will never come back here and probably NEVER let anyone else cut my hair again because HOLY SHIT. I'm so upset and I have zero confidence to wear my hair out. I hope that in the future Jojo can understand her clients better, especially if they are showing an exact picture of what they want. I also had to stand for a good portion of the cut which was a first for me. I didn't particularly enjoy that. Highlights look fine as well but were not what I asked for - I wanted to be noticeably blonder. Showed inspo pics and we got going. You can hardly tell I lightened my hair and I didn't like the way the foils were done (no front section so my part is a little more streaky than I would prefer) I expected the price to be closer to $350-$400 due to the pricing on their website but ended up closer to 500 but was given a 10% discount. I was asked to pay while getting my hair cut so front desk staff could leave but in the rush was not given a breakdown. Overall for the price and the end result I will take my business elsewhere.
