After nearly a year of searching for the right stylist, I finally found my way to The Hair Bar--and…read morewhat an experience it turned out to be. For months, I combed through Yelp, Google, Apple Maps, and Instagram like it was my second job. I wasn't just scrolling; I was studying. Styles, cuts, colors, techniques, and, most importantly, the energy each stylist projected online. Many accounts went quiet for long stretches, which made it hard to trust whether they were truly active. But The Hair Bar stood out. Their content was consistent, their work spoke volumes, and their posts carried an energy that was hard to ignore. What also drew me in was knowing who was behind the operation. This isn't just another salon--it's the baby of a dedicated owner/operator who still works the business every day. She teaches, mentors, and pours her pride into the consistency and production of happy clients. She also makes it a point to attend workshops to stay current in her field and bring fresh techniques back to her team. That kind of leadership is rare; it multiplies her impact while creating a culture of growth and artistry that you can feel the moment you step inside. Booking was simple--no hoops to jump through. A few clicks on their Instagram link, select a date, time, and stylist, and I quickly received a text confirmation. We communicated easily to settle on the best time, which made the process smooth and stress-free. When I walked in, I was greeted with warmth right away. Purdy welcomed me and introduced me to Kylie, who was assisting Krystal. Kylie set the tone for an amazing experience, making me feel welcomed and cared for. Later, Purdy even jumped in to help blow dry my hair, and I loved seeing the effortless teamwork in action. It wasn't just professionalism; you could tell they genuinely enjoyed supporting one another, which gave the whole salon an uplifting, positive energy. And then there was Krystal. Her presence was everything I hoped for and more--her Instagram sparkle multiplied in person. It was my birthday month, and while I had walked in thinking I might only get a trim, I trusted her vision completely. That trust mattered, because everything I had admired on The Hair Bar's Instagram--every cut, every color, every style--was exactly what I wanted for myself. She explained how she would keep my length but add layers for movement, blend my greys while keeping the depth of my jet black, and add subtle lowlights to bring dimension and richness. She didn't just see my hair as it was--she saw what it could be. And then she delivered. From the shampoo and scalp massage to the cut, color, and finish, every step was handled with care and precision. The layers lightened my hair beautifully, the color blended seamlessly, and the lowlights gave my hair depth and life. I walked out feeling transformed, polished, and celebrated--not just because of how my hair looked, but because of the entire experience. The salon itself is stunning. Natural light pours in, giving the space an airy, open feel. The layout is clean and efficient, with modern decor that feels stylish yet welcoming. It's not cluttered or overwhelming--it's intentional, designed to make clients feel both comfortable and inspired. You can tell it's a woman-owned business, built with heart and thoughtfulness in every detail. Leaving The Hair Bar, I felt grateful I had taken my time to find them. This wasn't just another haircut; it was an experience that reminded me why trusting the right people with your hair is so important. Krystal and her team are not only talented, but they are current, collaborative, and truly invested in their craft. If you're looking for a salon that combines artistry, warmth, and professionalism, The Hair Bar is a destination worth finding. For me, it's no longer about traveling into the city--I've found my place right here.

I had not had my hair professionally cut in almost a decade, and for the first time in my life, it had grown quite long. I was incredibly nervous to let somebody chop away at it, although I knew I desperately both a cut and some advice. Not ever having long hair, I had no idea how to properly care for it, and it was in major need of some intense TLC. Charity. My girl Charity. Not only was she so incredibly sweet and kind- I could feel the good vibes coming off her the second I saw her- but she really listened to my requests and concerns. It was fascinating to watch her work- she was deft and quick. You can tell she'd been doing hair for some time. And while she cut, I asked her questions on how to better car for my hair, and she gave absolutely the best tips. She kept every millimeter of my length that she could while trimming away all the split and breakage and dry dead ends and gave me some lovely long layers that are easy to manage as a toddler mom. My hair looks fantastic and feels so silky and healthy! Like I said, everytime I do anything to it, I'm reminded of the power of a professional hairdresser. It's impacted my daily life having manageable hair again. I cannot speak enough good things about Charity. And I will certainly be scheduling a twice yearly trim with her from now on!

My mom has been going to the salon for over 4 years and she sees McKenna everytime. We are always satisfied with how our nails look when we leave the salon. Based on that, I expected a premium service and a company willing to stand behind its work. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite. I invested approximately $1,400 in Great Lengths hair extensions and services & products for my only son's wedding in Alaska. The salon knew this was a once-in-a-lifetime event and that I would be leaving shortly after my appointments. My initial installation by Gabriellia was unsuccessful, so I was scheduled with their Global Elite Stylist, Traci, for my first corrective reinstall. The salon repeatedly emphasized that Traci had over 40 years of experience. During that appointment, Traci removed my extensions using Great Lengths bond remover and then installed approximately three new packs of extensions without first washing or clarifying my hair. Before I left, she instructed me not to wash my hair for 48 hours, leaving the bond remover on my hair, scalp, and newly installed extensions. I left believing everything had been corrected. I even emailed the salon thanking them for resolving the first installation issues and complimented Traci on what I believed was a job well done. Little did I know that by the following morning my extensions would begin failing. Within 48 hours, I had virtually no extensions remaining on one side of my head and developed contact dermatitis after the bond remover remained on my scalp. I immediately contacted the salon and explained that I had followed every instruction, including not washing my hair and using my boar bristle brush. The salon scheduled me with Pierce for a second corrective reinstall. I again expressed my concern that the bond remover had never been washed or clarified before new extensions were installed. Instead, I was told that wasn't the cause and was asked what shampoo I used. I explained my hair had never been washed since Traci's appointment, so shampoo could not have caused the immediate failure. During that visit, the manager called Traci at home to ask what products she recommended, and based on that conversation I purchased the Caviar shampoo and conditioner they instructed me to use. Pierce replaced only the bundle that had completely fallen out. The extensions continued falling out. While traveling to Alaska, a flight attendant handed me two extensions that had fallen onto the airplane floor. By the time I landed, about ten more had slipped out. By my son's wedding, I had no extensions remaining on one side of my head, and they continued falling out throughout the wedding. By the time I returned home, fewer than ten extensions remained. The most heartbreaking part is that these memories cannot be recreated. I will forever have photographs from my only son's wedding showing my hair falling apart during one of the most important days of my life. After returning home, I continued emailing the salon and sent photographs showing well over 100 extensions had fallen out. When I requested a refund, I was told the only solution was another reinstall. I repeatedly asked what would be done differently but never received an answer. Instead, I was expected to trust the same Global Elite Stylist again. I also repeatedly requested a complete itemized accounting of the charges made to my gift cards. Despite multiple requests, I never received a complete accounting and was eventually told the salon would no longer respond to emails asking the same questions. Wanting answers, I contacted Great Lengths USA directly and recorded the conversation. I explained exactly how my first corrective reinstall had been performed. Based on the information I provided, I was told that leaving Great Lengths bond remover in the hair without washing and clarifying it before reinstalling new extensions is what caused my extensions to fail. I was also told the hair must be "squeaky clean" before new extensions are installed so the keratin bonds can properly adhere. Great Lengths extensions are advertised to last up to five months. Mine lasted approximately 10 days. Timeline * April 24 - Consultation with Gabriellia * May 8 - Initial installation * May 14 - First corrective reinstall with Traci * May 18 - Second corrective reinstall with Pierce * May 20 - Left for Alaska * June 6 - Fewer than 10 extensions remained This review reflects my personal experience and is supported by emails, photographs, receipts, and a recorded conversation with Great Lengths USA. Upon request.
