I Love my hair! So I gotta share!!! Kristin is so amazing. She gave me a beautiful hair cut and awesome highlights, just like I like them I get sooo many complements I usually show her a picture of what I like and she makes it work for my face. I've been going to her for years and I dont know why I have not wrote a review sooner‍ hey we all take the good stuff for granted sometimes, I swear I was not trying to keep her all to myself I also take my daughter to her. Her hair was long and it used to get so tangled in the back so I mentioned it to Kristin and she knew exactly how to cut her hair to make sure that her hair gets less tangled!!!! as long as she brushed daily. I could not believe the difference it made!!! Just yesterday I took my daughter and she cut her hair short and she looks so adorable & loves her haircut! Thank you Kristin

Sal is a king and he always has been. ALWAYS does an amazing job and makes going to the salon like catching up with an old friend. Always recommend him for anything--‼‼ He's the best he gets me and my hair. That is a treasure!!!

    How is this blended?

Absolutely ridiculous. I asked for a balayage to transition from a medium brown to light blonde at the tips. Did not receive that. I asked to have the dead and unhealthy ends trimmed and to keep as much length as I could. Cut to frame my face. What I got instead was this ridiculous, choppy/block mess. I had to ask the stylist to actually point cut after 3 times of asking her why everything was so blocky and choppy. She kept trying to convince me that the cut was going to blend in, that the color would fade to what I eventually wanted. Not once did she measure the strands on each side of my face to make sure they were even. Oh, and to top it all off, in the middle of this pandemic, they're allowing their stylists to wear mesh, see-through masks (re: blonde woman with a pineapple tattoo on her upper arm), or allowing them to have their masks hanging from their chins instead of covering their whole face. They didnt clean up the chairs after each time someone sat in them. I wanted so badly to walk out but I had bleach in my hair at that point and needed to get it taken care of. Avoid this place and spend your money elsewhere. What a waste.

I really liked this place. All the people who worked there were super friendly and very realistic. I had ashley (sorry if I spelled it wrong!) and I came in with 2 very very different ideas of what to do with my hair and no decision. She gave me an honest expectation and helped me choose what to do with my hair. I was super nervous cause I chopped off a lot AND got bangs AND colored my hair so a lot could go wrong. Luckily nothing did! I walked out loving the color, cut and how silky smooth and healthy my hair was. The pricing too was super reasonable and they gave me a discount on the color for being a first time color customer. If I have one gripe it's the hair washing station. That thing is paaaainful on the neck. Will be back next time I'm in jersey !

Worst experience I have ever had at this Salon. I have been trying out this salon over the last year or so and have been very satisfied during my last few visits. I only get a haircut/color/style about every 6 months or so. Today I came in for a wash cut and blow dry (or so I thought I made an appointment for) but was not at all what I received. Upon arrival (1:00 PM) the stylist with whom I had scheduled my appointment with (Adreanna) was not in. It seems as if they just had the next available person-a woman who was just sitting up front talking-to take my appointment and proceeded to put me right in a chair. The whole experience was very rushed. The woman was very nice however made no attempt to look at what my actual appointment was for and just started cutting my hair. Because I was so overwhelmed I did not want to be rude and ask where my usual stylist was so I just took what I could get. Essentially, I was done by 1:05 PM (yes, only 5 minutes later) with what is likely the worst haircut I have ever received. Totally uneven, choppy and messy. Very unfortunate as I really did enjoy coming here previously. I was not able to catch the stylists name but I am certain at this point I will not be returning to salon bangles.

Love this place! I've been getting my hair done here for about 4 years now. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Kristen does an amazing job coloring and cutting my hair, I'm always happy with the results. Can't recommend Salon Bangles enough

There is no denying that my hair is black.

I'm devastated after my experience at Salon Bangles turned my hair black, which is not what I wanted or expected at all and my new look is receiving a lot of negative attention. A colleague was shocked that my bad dye job had come from a salon and not a box. I went to Salon Bangles because they have 4.5 stars on Yelp and the prices are fair, but after this experience I will not be returning. I used to have healthy medium brown hair with caramel highlights, which I had touched up every two months or so at my old salon. Several months ago I moved to NJ, where I had to find a new salon. The first thing that went wrong with my hair is that the previous stylist went a little too warm and it had a reddish tint that intensified as it got more exposure to the sun. I was ultimately really unhappy with this and decided to go with a L'Oreal box (admittedly a bad idea) of brown color with caramel highlights. This worked out fine for a bit, but started to turn brassy over time and some of the red also started coming through again. When I went to Salon Bangles, my hair was definitely damaged (from sun and the box dye) and several different shades of color, so I was really desperate for some help, which Sal assured me he could offer. We looked at the color palette and I selected medium brown, but he said he wanted to go with dark brown (4N) because he wanted to cover everything, going over the darkest shade in my hair to start with a fresh base, which I completely understood. I trusted his judgment even though the dark brown was definitely darker than what I wanted for my hair. When he finished, I held some hair up and told him it looked way too dark, possibly black, and he said it was because it was still wet (I didn't have it blown out there.), but when I went home and blow-dried it it was pitched black. I immediately called the salon and told Sal my hair was black and he said, "It's not black. We looked at it together and agreed it was brown," which was not true because at the salon I stated that it was much darker than anticipated. I would have gone straight back, but I had work and when I went in I heard comments from over twenty (!!!) people about my black hair. As previously mentioned, one colleague was in awe that the color had come from a salon and not a box. I was extremely embarrassed and felt like crawling into a hole because honestly it looked like I was wearing a witch's wig. The next day I went into Salon Bangles when they opened, explained that Sal had convinced me to go with a dark brown over medium brown and that my hair had turned black and the manager just kept insisting that it wasn't black. Every time I said it was black she said it was brown and when I told her that my mother, father, brother, brother's girlfriend, two cousins, and over twenty colleagues said it was black, she continued to repeat that it was brown. I asked her to bring me the color palette and compare it and sure enough it matched with black as opposed to brown, but she still wouldn't admit it. When I asked how we could rectify it she gave me three options: 1. Highlights (which would probably look ridiculous with my jet black hair), 2. Lightening (which would further damage my damaged hair), and 3. Waiting for it to fade. My mom had bought me a clarifying shampoo so I opted for option three and am trying to speed up the process with that and the manager at Salon Bangles gave me two deep conditioning samples since clarifying shampoo can be a little harsh. When I got back from the salon I was still extremely upset about the whole experience and didn't even feel like going outside because I felt so uncomfortable with my appearance thanks to my jet black hair, which does not look good or natural with my complexion. My mother called the salon because she saw how distraught I was and the manager just kept insisting that it wasn't black, though she did admit that it was darker than I had wanted or asked for. What really upset me was that the manager also said Sal had warned me that my hair was porous and could absorb more color and turn darker than anticipated, but this was not the case. I only learned that this was a possibility when I talked to someone at work afterward who does hair as well. If I had had any indication whatsoever that my hair would turn black I would never have let him touch it with color. As previously mentioned, I was already hesitant about the dark brown so the black was a complete shock. Honestly, regarding color, I would have been better off with another box. It's simply ridiculous that so many people agree that my hair is black, but Salon Bangles refuses to acknowledge it. To prove what color it is, I've uploaded a photo of me wearing a black shirt and holding up an Alex and Ani box, which is obviously known to be black, to my hair. In sum, Sal should have warned me about the consequences of dying my hair when it was so porous and I definitely would have reconsidered dying it there.

Fabulous hair upon leaving, owner is super pushy though and "puts you with her daughter" unless you speak over her and say NO.

She was able to book me a session this afternoon. I am beyond perfectionistic & I had a very bad experience at my prior salon leaving me REALLY nervous to have another stylist color my hair. Bobbie is a dream. She welcomed me right away & had a long, VERY professional conversation about where my hair was at & where I wanted it to be. She was honest, kind, caring & most importantly- made me trust her expertise & eye. I'm SO happy I did! She worked on me for 3 hours & even gave me tips on how to style my naturally curly hair, guided me towards the right products to use at home and repeatedly let me know that it's okay to ASK QUESTIONS & let her know if I had any concerns or wasn't happy with the way my hair was looking. That wasn't an issue because Bobbie did an impeccable job on my blonde balayage. She was able to blend my ends seamlessly into the partial balayage, add definition and was SUPER sweet, calm and welcoming throughout the whole service. The salon itself is beautiful, stylish and NOT PRETENTIOUS. I felt so at ease. I've worked in the salon/spa field for many years and Bobbie thoroughly impressed me. She won me over!
