I went to bangles about 2 weeks ago, I have been here plenty of times and every other time it sucked, got the worst haircut. But with the short notice of needing a haircut I decided to go back. This time I got Ariel, she is the best. I just got a simple short haircut, she took the time to do it and made sure I loved it at the end. call for an informal appointment in advance, just to be safe. and Cash Only. always gone there with no special stylist in mind, but very specific haircuts, and they got it on point 9/10 times. i've never been a repeat customer of a particular employee, but if i had to, i'd recommend Kristin (the manager, or assistant manager?). she's awesome. and there is 1 person i'd stay away from, but unfortunately, i can't remember her name. Sorry. =T also, $15 dollar haircut from rookie employees - and they do well! (no worry tho, the 1 bad haircut i got was not from a rookie, ironically...) still baffles me. anyway, the damage wasn't THAT tear-jerking. they make up for it service tho. seemingly snooty people at first, once they open conversation, they're very genuine, and they LISTEN to your requests, all the while keeping their more educated eye in use for your well being, and not straying too far from what you want, if not, giving you exactly what you want. do caution if you have super curly, kinky hair (think "Felicity"). I have a friend with that kind of hair, and they didn't do a good color job/cut on her. They have however proven no fail on wavy to straight hair. read more

Good service, easy to make appointments, nice stylists. Haircuts strictly okay. Just a simple cut, doesn't achieve the great finished look with shape and edges. My stylist was one of the junior ones, took a long time but my hair basically looked the same. Convenient because walk-ins allowed, but pricey if you think of end result. I went in to get a trim. I asked the hair stylist to use the clippers on top and on the sides. She proceeded to cut my hair recklessly and didn't even pay attention to what she was doing. I walked out with an uneven haircut with no style and had to go to a barber shop to get my head shaved to even it out. They get one star for price. It was 15 bucks. I guess you really DO get what you don't pay for. Never again! read more

I tried Salon Bangles more than 8 years ago and never looked back. Kristin has cut and colored my hair from when I had a short razor cut to grown out long beachy waves. She always has great advice if I'm indecisive too. She also cuts my kids hair now too and they love her. Everyone there is always kind and not pretentious. The staff is always very friendly. I usually feel a little uncomfortable going to professional salons but Stephanie (stylist) made me feel very comfortable and she was also very nice. read more

The place is really cool and trendy. Courtney highlighted and trimmed my bob length hair. She did exactly as I asked and a good job. The prices are quite reasonable for the location. They don't accept credit cards but do accept personal checks. I would recommend and I will be going back. read more

My wife comes here and loves her stylist. I started cutting my hair trimmed by Sal great job, he listens to what you want unlike soy stylist that go off and do what they want. Atmosphere is great, staff is friendly, and the price is right. Great hours and late as well. read more

I had my hair done by Jackie yesterday day , she was amazing ! No one has done my color and cut so well . She took the red out and made my hair blonde and gave me a new great hair cut. I am so excited I found her and to go show off my hair ;) I have thin hair and it's hard to color with out burning it off . My hair feels great and is heathy it even looks fuller. I came to Salon Bangles for the first time last week and it definitely will not be my last! It was such a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere with very reasonable prices and Justin did an awesome job on my cut + color. It was my first time getting highlights/color and Justin took his time and explained each step. I brought in a picture of what I wanted done and I have to say my hair might even look better than the picture! I was very pleased with Justin's work and have been getting non-stop compliments. Used to go here and went back for two hair cuts and organic dyes recently and I think Jackie did a great job. Joanie the owner is wonderful and so is her daughter, and they are great believers in organic hair color and so am i now. My hair has never been as well conditioned and manageable as it is now. I think this place is first rate and I have been to many salon, and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely worth driving from anywhere in NJ to get there; that's how good it is. read more

DO NOT GO THERE. I came to Bangles because the price was way lower than the salon I normally go to. The hairdresser didn't tell me her name, and YANKED out knots in my hair. I asked for a trim; 1-1.5 inches off, long layers, longer in the front than the back, and showed her pictures. Not only did she cut off more than I wanted (close to 3 in), but she gave me a DRAMATIC look with uneven choppy layers all over my head. The layers in the front are so short it's like grown out BANGS, so I can't even get my hair fixed at another salon until this GROWS a few INCHES! When she finished cutting she asked how I liked it and I told her I wanted the front to be longest but it was very short. She said she couldn't give me layers if it was longer in the front (a problem no other stylist has run into) and that I "shouldn't worry" because the look she gave me would give me sooo much more volume. So BEFORE she cut my hair she decided she couldn't do what I asked for, but instead of clarify with me she picked a hairstyle no where near what I came in with when I asked for just a trim. My hairstyle was NOT YOUR DECISION TO MAKE. read more

I went to Salon Bangles around 4pm yesterday with my friend. I asked for trims for the both of us. We were walk-ins. It says on their website and have it posted at their salon that they welcome walk-ins. We were both denied because they couldn't squeeze us in. I've come in as a walk-in before with no problem. There was one receptionist and 2 other woman standing there with her. The other salon employees were sitting in their chairs. We were told that it was "too busy" to be seen and we should schedule an appointment for tomorrow. We traveled about 45 minutes to come to this salon just to be denied. I don't understand how this could happen. If you say you take in walk-ins you should have slots placed appropriately for potential walk-ins. I was very upset by this, it was a waste of our time and gas to go there just to leave 5 minutes later. Yes, there were three other clients sitting down waiting. In the past being a walk-in I have been told that we may have to wait for someone to become available and I have always been okay with that. To be turned away so quickly as we were was very unprofessional. I have been a client there for about 2 years and I won't be returning again due to this unpleasant incident. Your advertisement says "walk-ins welcome" not "walk-ins potentially welcome". Maybe if the girls weren't all sitting in their chairs doing nothing I wouldn't have reacted this way but they seemed perfectly available. To prevent such an experience again for future clients you should keep sometime in between scheduled appointments for the walk-in appointments. read more

These people are rude, inexperienced, and unprofessional. They will openly discuss who hates who in the salon and complain about their coworkers with their friends while doing your hair. If they don't know how to do something they'll just try to do it anyway, and most likely fail. I spent so much money trying to get my hair done the other day and my stylist spent five hours doing the opposite of what we discussed for my hair, despite having gone over everything beforehand in detail. They don't care about your hair they just want to make money off of you, and I was charged double for a color I clearly hated and did not want, sent out the door being told I just had to get used to it and change up my makeup. I asked for an ash blonde with a lighter balayage and she just bleached my whole head bright Barbie blonde while she talked shit about her coworkers and planned trips to the bar with her friends. They ripped off a poor college student who just wanted to try and look nice after having saved up for several weeks. I would do anything to get my money back from this pathetic excuse of a salon and these disgusting people. read more

I always have a hit or miss experience at this salon. Every time I call and ask for a stylist they schedule me in, however when I get there they always switch me to someone else. Sometimes good, sometimes very bad. The girls who do the coloring (I believe her name was Nicole last time I was there) are always great. They give me exactly the color I want and are very friendly. Now, the stylists. Fabi is great. I was originally supposed to have Lindsay, however Joan assured me that Fabi is the best out of the junior stylists. And she was right. She listened to exactly what I wanted and did a great job. Another time I was given Cecilia. She gave me the absolute worst hair cut and overall experience I have ever had. I do not recommend her to anyone. First she did not listen to what I wanted. Then she had the nerve to tell me that she doesn't have time to blowdry my hair because the salon is closing. I had come in 90 minutes before the salon closed to get my hair dyed, with a haircut and blowout which the girl on the phone said was fine. Cecilia did a horrible job half drying my hair which she had cut uneven with strange layers. Overall I've had some good experiences and some bad. Make sure to choose the right stylists. read more
