Called at 9:30am and got an appointment right away. They're very cautious about following Covid-19 guidelines, and the salon was very clean. The stylist, Donna, greeted me right away. She was courteous, professional and was able to help me find the perfect low lights. My hair was a mess after not having it done for months due to the quarantine. I thought this place was bad when it was "Ment-To-Bee"... but I figured, new name, should be an new owner, literally minutes away... I'd give it another chance. So when my daughter wanted to get her hair styled for her 8th grade dance, I didn't want to take her far, and I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg, so we decided to go with Salon Bella Vita. Never ever again. We were on a tight timeline. My daughter got home at 4 p.m. - dance was at 6 p.m. So we had a 4:30 appointment, and we got there a little early. When we arrived, we were 15 minutes early. The stylist yelled over to us: "Do you want to come back later? I'm a bit behind." She actually suggested that we go HOME (and she made a point to say we were early). That made no sense... our appointment was in only 15 minutes. By the time we got home, we'd have to come back. I said we'd stay... then I realized she had a whole other customer in front of my daughter, besides the one she just started on in the chair. I thought my daughter, who was extremely excited and anxious about her big dance, was going to have a nervous breakdown. There didn't seem to be ANY hope of getting into that chair before 5 p.m., and of course, she had to get dressed, and put on her makeup -- anyone that's been a teenager girl during their lifetime knows what that's like! There was no way she'd make it to the beginning of the dance. Sure enough -- my daughter got in the chair just a few minutes before 5 p.m. In the meanwhile, I'm calling area salons, trying to get my daughter in sooner with another stylist, but thanks to the dance, they are all booked. Luckily she was done quickly - 15 minutes later. But my daughter said she had to "direct" her during the entire styling. The stylist weakly apologized on our way out. What I don't understand is how this even happened. I know that many salons have a policy that, if you are late for your appointment, you are going to have to reschedule. They can't risk pushing back all of their clients. So I don't know if they didn't do that, or if they overbook their schedule. Either way... NOT professional. read more

This was my first time going here. Overall it was a positive experience. I went in for highlights, and a haircut. Fara was my stylist. She did an amazing job with my highlights. She helped me pick out a color suitable for me. I went to Mario Tricoci couple years ago for highlights and hated them. But I really loved how they turned out here. The girl who washed my hair did an amazing job as well. The only reason I rated this place a 4 and not 5 is because when it was time to pay things were priced higher than mentioned on the phone to me prior to making an appointment. I got partial highlights which they had told me was going to be $55 but it ended up being $65. Online it doesn't say partial highlights are $55 and up it just says $55 which to me means a flat fee. I probably should have questioned this but didn't. Maybe because they were blended? I don't know. I also needed to touch up my grays and they charge $40 for a touch up. Which is pretty pricy for a few grays. They also mentioned $20 for toning which they did not mention before. But she did not charge for me for that because I guess I was a first time client. The hair cut is $40 which to me is also pricy considering my haircut wasn't overly complicated. Basically cut off dead ends and cleaned up my front layers and bangs. $30 would have been more reasonable. But I didn't argue about because I was already there for quite a long time. So just ask exactly how much everything will be before making an appointment. There should be no surprises. They should also be much clearer in their pricing. The online prices do not correspond to what they will actually charge. read more

Julie has cut my hair for years and always gets it right. I have long hair and used to hate it when I would ask for an inch to be taken off and they would always cut more than an inch. With Julie, if you ask for an inch, she cuts an inch. She even helped me switch colors from Black to Burnette which if you've ever done, you know it isn't easy.
