Came here twice for a haircut now. Kuna is really nice and understands how to deal with my fine, thin hair. I've been trying to grow it out, so she only cuts off the damaged ends and adds a little bit of layers to give it some volume. So far I've been able to get same-day appointments when I called, but they were kind of late in the day (7 pm Sunday and 5 pm Friday). A ladies haircut for long hair cost me $30 and included wash, blow dry, and styling with a round brush. Be aware that you have to go into Phenix Salon Suites (next to Weight Watchers), and Kuna's salon is the second from the left when you enter. read more

Ridiculous $40 price increase on full highlights and hair trim without informing before hand. After getting the service done , I was told there is an increase in the price and charged me $40 extra. Very unreasonable , as I have been a regular customer for a long time with this stylist. Only reason I went there was that her pricing was a bit reasonable. Well, not anymore. If u want nice layer with bangs. Dont go there. I should have trust the one star review. I had a very bad layer with worse bangs just the customer she reviewed one star. I regret so much.First day i was upset bcoz of of side bangs that she cut it way too shorter than i wanted. I showed her picture and she said its gonna be like the picture. Later she said its bcoz my hair was too short i couldnot get that length. I had enough lenght to get that side bangs. Today i just ironed my hair and find out her layer was very ugly not blended at all. What a disappointment. Plus she was rushing to get the next customer. I was recommended to come here from a friend. I wanted a trim to get rid of my split ends. Well, what was supposed to be a 2-3 inch trim turned out to be a good 6 inches of hair chopped off. She did not confirm with me how much she was cutting off neither where I parted my hair. I honestly wouldn't even call it a haircut but instead I would think that my 10 year old cousin could do a better job blindfolded. Because she didn't confirm with me where my part was, the so called "layers" look funny when I part my hair. The layers are sooo choppy that people at work even pointed it out. I haven't had this awful of a haircut since I was 9. I got three balayage treatments that cost me well over $300 and she cut it all off. Nice lady but terrible job. Not worth the $30, nor a penny. Terrible customer service if you cannot consult with your client about what you are going to do to their precious hair. I went to Kuna for a few years and liked the low-key experience and her personality. The first few times, she did a great job. The last few times, the color was really off and the cut was uneven in places. The color was either not noticeable at all, or the highlights were at least a half an inch down from the root, as if they'd grown in two months. I would go back and have her fix the cut or the color, sometimes both. Why? Maybe because she was so sweet and would realize she made a mistake. Then i got tired of driving there and back twice for a haircut and color that was just ok. Her prices are reasonable and she is a genuinely nice person, but it just didn't work out for me. I was so nervous to get my hair cut but I thought I needed a change after my wedding. My husband and I just moved to Illinois from California and I was nervous to find a new hair person. Look up hair salons in my area and found Kuna's she had good reviews so I went to her. I arrived early but she was able to take me right away. I told her what I was looking for and showed her a picture and I got what I was looking for! I loved it ! I waiting a few days after playing around with it just in case but every day I fall in love with my hair she gave it the tale it was lacking and she also washed it and styled it for a reasonable price! HORRIBLE!!! do not go!!! check out the pictures. the blonde with dark roots is the pictures I ASKED/request and I got dark hair with maximum 10 highlights in it. i start crying when i saw myself in the mirror. I showed her the picture before she start coloring. when she put the dark color I asked her again about the roots and she told me to relax because it looks way darker than how will end. I trusted her!!! WRONG!!!!!!! When I told her is not what I asked for she answered that she never had a client asking only for roots to be dark and the rest to be light. I cried!!! Cried!!!! She was rude, she asked for payment and i paid $155!!! $155!!!!! for something that i was not happy at all. She did not even tried to fix it. she said it looks nice :(. Coming home I realize $155 is A LOT for something that it doesn't make me happy I complained at the BBB and called the credit card company to put a stop on the payment and also called her to give her heads up . she hung up on me saying she did not work 2h for free!!! I have been going to Kuna since 2007 and she has always been polite and professional. I have referred people to her several times. I feel the need to respond to the negative review posted on 6/28/19. The situation was not as it appears in the review. I was the appointment right before she just appeared at the salon. I won't go into detail because I don't believe in disparaging people online. Love Kuna! I have been getting my hair cut from Kuna for a few years starting from when she was in her old salon. I found her through Yelp as she had tons of great reviews (not sure what happened to all the older reviews but they seem to have gotten lost after she moved spaces). First of all, this crazy lady needs to be locked up in a mental institution. I made an appt with her 2 weeks ago to get highlights. She said $65 for partial. Anyway, I go in and when she washed my hair, it looked completely dark! I have black-brown hair and I wanted caramel highlights. I already had old one on the bottom of my hair. I told her it looked too dark to which she put some bleach. I maybe got 6-8 highlights. And she said it will look better when my hair is dry. So I paid her and came home. Then over the next week I started noticing my hair was getting darker and none of the new color was visible. And I went to a party and no one even noticed I got my hair colored, it was that bad. So I went back to her to ask to put some more foils so we can bleach it/lighten. And she said she'll charge me, which I was obviously fine with and expecting. She told me to call her the next day and find a time to come in. She kept arguing how she thought it looked good and she did a good job and I shouldn't do more. Who is she to tell me what I should like or not?! If I'm paying her, she does what I want! I also bought this hair oil bottle form her for $25. I got home and noticed the bottle wasn't even filled to the top!!! I've never bought a product that was partially filled. So I told her and she said she has never had anyone complain. Anyway, come next day and I get off work and call her like she told me to. And it sounded like she hung up my call. Then I sent her a text saying I'm calling her like she said. And then tried calling again. It started going straight to voicemail and the text showed undelivered. I had a feeling she blocked me. I couldn't believe it. So I drive over to her salon and am waiting because she's with a customer and then she comes out and I ask her what happened, why My call wasn't getting through. She lied and said idk then said she was busy. So I flat out asked her if she blocked me and she said yes. Because she doesn't want me to come there and she doesn't want to do my hair. Because I always complain and criticize her. WHAT A SNOWFLAKE! I told her that was highly unprofessional and rude because we had decided and I cleared my calendar for today because she said she could fit me in. Then she started raising her voice and get this, TOUCHES ME TO PUSH ME OUT AND SLAM THE DOOR ON MY FACE! I stop the door with my foot and say excuse me to get her hands off me and she is still grabbing my wrist to push me. She also argues about the oil. She is a psychotic b****. Crazy unstable lady! She cannot take criticism and that shows how she is as a person. Everyone who pays wants what they want. Not what she thinks. I should've called the police on her for touching me. How dare she. Probably the worst salon I've ever been to, my first time going to her was last Saturday when I called her 2 weeks prior to make a appointment she asked me what will u be coming in for I said highlights and all over color and so when I get there she tells me oh ur here for a haircut right im like um no I'm here for color then she tells me oh no I don't have time for color, but she ended up squeezing me in anyways for color in between her other 3 clients she took, so I tell her my hair was a very faded red I told her okay I want a dark brown all over with carmel highlights I want some dimension and right away oh no that won't look good on u and ur hair is to damaged I can't do that for u. Well I insisted she doesn't and she did she did the dark brown all over which I do like and the blonde the blonde didn't come out how she liked it all she probably had to do what tone one more time, so when I get done this day she blow dries my hair a little and tell me ok come back Monday I don't have time to fully blow dry ur day but she did make me pay the whole 150 then I go back Monday thinking she's gonna make the blonde how I want it and what does this bitch do, she puts dark red highlights over the blonde when I first went it I told her I wanna get rid of the red.
