She even helped me dramatically change my hair after breakups! Moreover, I admire how much Lindsey wants to grow and hone her craft. When she is not overbooked, she is going to conferences and seminars to keep up to date on the newest and latest techniques. It is evident how much she loves what she does when you leave her chair. The studio itself is full of talent, and aesthetically it's clean and modern. It's not overly loud, despite acoustics that could allow for that, and the staff does not come off as exclusive or catty. Do not book at Salon Bijou in Vacaville if you value your time or professionalism. I had an appointment with the owner that was cancelled just 2 hours before I was supposed to be there. I had already arranged childcare and driven two hours for this appointment--it was part of getting ready for a family photo shoot the next day. They offered a "complimentary" service to make up for it, but communication was terrible. Days would go by between texts, and here we are 13 days later with no resolution. I finally had to just ask for a refund of my deposit and decline the complimentary offer because it felt like I was being strung along and forced to chase them down for a response. It's unacceptable to cancel on a client last-minute and then treat them like an afterthought. I've been to some of the best salons around and have never been treated like my business didn't matter. She agreed and I have been hooked ever since! She is so friendly and kind you feel like you have known her your whole life! She is a great listener, goes above and beyond to make sure that your hair turns out perfectly and not only is she AMAZING with hair but she is honest if she thinks that my ideas might not work for my hair. I can take in pictures and she will either make it look exactly like it, if my hair will do it, or she makes suggestions on how to achieve what I want while maintaining the integrity of my hair. Made an appointment with who I thought was the old Jessica- Jessica Bierman. Followed her from So Lavish. To my surprise it was a new Jessica. I kept my fingers crossed and she surprised me. My hair looked good!! 2nd visited: wanted something fun and light for my birthday and summer. I came out looking like a cosmetology experimental head! The top was an awful brassy color and the bottom was an ashy gray color. She immediately said "the lighting isn't very good in here" and "the top will lighten up". I showed her the following picture with natural caramel highlights and left the salon with different shades of blonde, albeit we discussed I wanted a natural look before she started working and I showed her the picture. She also BLEACHED my lululemon t shirt. When I texted her telling her how unhappy I was she said I should tone it myself. What an actual joke. Got my hair dyed by Jessica! She first dyed my hair at So Lavish Salon & I just HAD to follow her over to Salon BIJOU! I'm very picky with who dyes my hair. The design of the place is beautiful. Open concept with neutral white & grey tones. It's very welcoming. My appointment was at 11am & I walked in on the dot. Jessica was quick to say hi and seat me. She asked what I was looking for, if I had any pictures & got started! My 7 month old daughter got dropped off to me towards the end of the appointment & she didn't mind at all. She was very considerate with trying to be alittle quick with the blow dry & curl since my daughter was sleepy, which I greatly appreciated. Anyways, I asked for an ash brown color melt/balayage. I'll posted the picture I showed her as an example then an after & before picture. For the first session, my hair lightened nicely. It's not exactly where I want it to be yet but I know I still have a few more sessions to go since I have such dark hair. As for price, the last time I got my hair dyed by Jessica, it was back in 2016 & my hair was very long & I asked for the same thing. The only difference was that it was at her old salon. Back then I paid $125 & this time, my hair is a lot shorter & I paid $160. Both prices not including tip, but it was a long time ago & it's definitely worth the price to get top notch service! Long, crazy, and overgrown brows? No worries, April will tame those brows. I've been coming to April for about 2 years now(every 4 weeks) And I have never left her chair unhappy. She genuinely focuses on every hair and strives to provide your ideal brow goal /shape. One thing that I really appreciate is that she maintains a really clean work space and takes precaution to avoid cross contamination (ie never double dips in wax, sterilizes her equipment, etc...). Another plus for me is that she takes the time before waxing to make sure your skin is okay by asking about products you use on your face and also talks you through post wax care (ie, not touching the area, avoiding hot water, etc...). My favorite thing to come out of the brow reshaping is how she fills in my brows, place eyebrow gel, and conceals with Anastasia's Beverly Hills Products once she's done and they always look. I just went to Salon Bijou for the first time since my salon stylist moved to this location. Amber has been doing my hair for something like 7 years. Every time I see her my hair looks as it always does. There has never been a time where I've felt like my business is taken for granted and my hair color and extensions always looks SO good. April Lopes is the best make up artist I have ever used! This review is long overdue!! I used April in for my wedding in Feb 2019 and it was the best decision!! We scheduled a make up trial in early January and she really took the time to listen to what I liked and didn't like. I am not used to wearing alot of make up, so she went the extra mile and took professional pictures so I could see the difference and feel at ease. We even tried two different eye looks so I could be certain. The day of my wedding (which she woke up super early and traveled for :) she was extra thoughtful and prepared a travel bag with goodies I would need during our wedding photos. She was also very patient with my mom who has Alzheimer's, which really meant the world to me. She was also helpful and shared the products and colors she used so I knew for my destination reception in Mexico. I've been getting my eyebrows done by April for about year now. I don't let just anyone do my eyebrows, I don't even trust myself to do them, so I am so glad that I tried April. She does an amazing job and I'm always happy with my brows. Unlike others I've tried in the past, she doesn't just try and get you in and out of the chair in 5 minutes, she takes just enough time to give you something great.
