I've been going there for about a year and am thinking of switching. It's about $50 + tip for a women's haircut. The people are nice to the customers but when you're getting your hair washed and can hear them talking, they are so catty to each other. It kind of feels like a high school in there. I had been without a regular stylist for years but I decided I wanted a spiral perm and color. My hair is long w/ plenty of heat/bleach damage so I knew I had to find someone good. Na Young had good reviews here so I made an appt w/ her. She has two assistants helping her, plus 6+ shampooers on staff so this makes the tedious process of getting a spiral perm + color go much faster. She recommended an additional re-perm at no charge for the resistant parts of my hair (I am partially gray) after two weeks, which I went to have done today. I'm exceptionally pleased with the results and advice she gave me on caring for my hair going forward. Na Young was quite knowledgeable and the staff was exceedingly pleasant. The facility is clean and tastefully decorated, complete with an additional unisex bathroom to accommodate everyone. Refreshments are available. As an FYI, proper tipping at a salon is 10-25% depending on the service and your satisfaction level. I tipped 25% because she was great and my hair was not easy to perm. I'll definitely be returning every 2 mos for color touch-ups and 4 mos for perming new growth. read more

I have been searching around for the right hair dresser for a while, and I finally found her. Rachel Andonian is awesome and I highly recommend her! I have gone to her for hair cuts, highlights, up dos, and make-up for professional pictures. She always listens to what I want and does a wonderful job. Finally got around to reviewing this!! Been going here since I moved to Dallas (summer 2013), and I LOVE it. Kaci W. is the best!!!! She's so nice and encouraging...I first came to chop off my longggggg hair and got a cute bob. You get a nice little neck massage with the wash, and there's cucumber water as you wait. Kaci and Ardem were really helpful when I was new to Dallas, and Ardem gave me a recommendation to a restaurant (which I went to and LOVED). It's $50 for a wash, cut, and dry for women's hair. I never get my hair cut as often as I probably should, but even when I come back after a few months, Kaci remembers everything! read more

The salon itself is great, I have always had a great experience here but...today as I was leaving after having hair done, I over heard one of the stylists, Ginger whom has always seemed like a sweet girl, being very aggressive and rude with one of the young ladies at the front desk. I do not know what was said but it was easy to see that the young lady at the front desk was upset as she was fighting tears. Today may be my last visit because of this. I feel it is unprofessional and quite immature of an employee to be rude or show anger to a co-worker ESPECIALLY in the vicinity of public. There are ways to do things and ways not to. As a customer I, nor other customers should have to hear or see such unprofessionalism. Therefore I am giving 3 stars. If I do come back it will be a day when she is not there. read more

I took my daughter in to see Amy Gabrielson last Friday. She has had quite a bit done to her hair in the past so I was very glad to see that Amy uses organic products so that her hair wasn't damaged. Overall Amy was very concerned about my daughter's hair and protecting it. My daughter had (2) separate colors done and a haircut and style. Though I usually find salons kind of intimidating (I'm usually more of a Great Clips type of guy), I thought the atmosphere was hip but laid back. A friend referred me to Matt, and I have to say I'm glad he did. I never really know how to describe how I want my hair to look, so I usually tell the stylist to use his best judgment. Matt quickly went to work and I'm really pleased with the outcome. One of the things I really liked about Matt was that he wasn't silent and he didn't talk my ear off - he was friendly and funny, but also serious about making sure I was getting a good cut. First of, I had long hair. Almost to my shoulder. I wasn't looking to cut it. I was just looking for a hairstyle as I was intending to grow it even longer. I called and asked for someone who is good at doing long hairstyles for men. I got scheduled for later that day with Evelyn. She was asking me what haircut I wanted to do. So I clearly told her, I don't want to cut anything, I just want a new style for my hair. She got me on a chair, started combing my hair. A second later while I was looking at my phone, she started cutting my side hair into half. I reiterated that I am not looking to CUT MY HAIR. I am 100% sure that the stylist that did my hair doesn't have any formal training or license in styling. She called her supervisor, Na Young, to come and help her fix the mess. I ended up with a terrible hairstyle, shorter hair which is very upsetting. In addition to all that, I was being pushed by the stylist and her supervisor to buy a keratin treatment for my hair for over 6-8 times in less than an hour. Totally disappointed.... I am new to the Dallas area, and was looking for a new salon. I went to Salon D based on their amazing reviews online and was referred to Kaci. She was amazing, and listened to exactly what I wanted. She was quick and didn't leave me sitting on the chair for hours. I asked for a sun-kissed dirty blonde color, but later realized that the blonde near my face was a little too blonde for me. I called her and she had me back in the next day (even though she was booked far into the evening) and toned my hair down to the perfect shade of sun-kissed bronze! LOVE it! I've virtually never walked out of a salon happy until Salon D. The staff is amazingly friendly and everyone just wants to make you happy and comfortable. I found my new fave salon! He was the first person to understand how to work with it and he has given me the best cuts and color ever. He just gets my hair like no one else ever has. My first go around with extensions I Got a quick fix from a random hair dresser who did an Ok beginner job, I.e: they looked great but only lasted 5 weeks and was told it would last 3-4 months. She was very thorough in answering my 1,001 questions and matched my color- I decided to go with the hair that she had on sale (Tony Oshido $499*(oiginally valued at $1500)...I figured what the heck...We then scheduled an appointment a the following week. The whole consult took no more than 15 minutes...and the extra bonus was that she was all about my convenience and what time was best suitable for me! I was ecstatic with the finished product, my hair looks AMAZING and natural, the quality of the hair is beautiful, its thick and shiny and blends perfectly with my already dark hair. Nayoung is the best at what she does. She is an expert at cutting mens hair as far as i'm concerned. I have been using her now for a little over a year. There have been several times when I wanted to try different hair styles so I would take her a picture of what I was going for, and she has always been able to do exactly that style. People at my office always compliment my cut the next day and the guys always ask me who I use but unfortunately most of them are too cheap to go anywhere but their local barber shop. Either way, I will always refer people to her because she IS the best. In addition, Vikki works with Nayoung and she is also awesome. Getting a shampoo from Vikki is like dying and going to heaven. My hair is EXTREMELY difficult to work with (super fine and super curly!) but this place was phenomenal! Ginger butler did my hair gorgeously and the end results were flawless. Today was the first time I went to Salon D and needless to say, I was extremely impressed! I am extremely picky about my hair and usually would drive back to Houston to get it cut by my old stylist. I had an appointment with Ginger and I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair to look when styled, but also when not styled and she did a fantastic job!! Her cut was spot on and she even styled it for me and it looked identical to what I envisioned it to look like! She was also really helpful when it came to suggestions and educating me on how the cut would look when styled vs not styled. Nayoung is amazing. Nayoung IS VERY helpful. Trust me, it's worth putting up with receptionists to get your hair done by Nayoung. Her price range is amazing and the results have proved to be great. I get compliments from work, school and friends, after I see her. She is quick, because she is a MASTER hair stylist. 3) She is Korean, so be direct with Nayoung, tell her what you want, and how you want it. She will show pictures from her ipad, iphone, magazines and etc. So she could get an accurate picture of what you want. If you have a pictures, bring it! She will ask series of questions to get an idea. Some people are too sensitive and find this offensive. I think it's good, because being direct is better than beating behind the bush. Since she was a Korean hair stylist, she knows how to cut Asian hair which is always great. She was nice and did a really good job. Everything was even and she even styled my hair after and gave me some waves which were so pretty. She was a very stylish lady also so that was nice. The salon itself is actually quite nice inside despite the outside looking a little bland. They have yummy spa water and it is a big salon. Lots of magazines to read as well. Nayoung is a life saver, miracle worker, and hair prodigy all in one. After years of endless failures at trying to get my hair colored (successfully) at home, I finally hit rock bottom and vowed never to let anyone but a professional tamper with my hair again. Desperate, I called last minute and told Nayoung about my hair fiasco, and she told me to come in for a color correction. After examining my hair and consoling me, she quickly went to work. All in all, she spent 5 hours on taking all the orange and brass out of my hair/weaving in lowlights, while still maintaining its integrity through generous applications of countless hair products. During our appointment, she gave me advice on how to take care of my bleached hair and how to prevent further damage. Though I had bleached my hair twice in the same week, before going to her, she took extra care to treat my damaged hair by nourishing it with products in between colorings. By the time she had finished coloring and washing my hair for the third time, my hair was still intact and in even better condition than the moment I had stepped foot into the salon. Wow just got an amazing hair cut by Na Young!! Wish I went to her to begin with. Uses all of these cool cutting tools, very precise and quick! Makes the hair cut look natural and not choppy. Uses a razor to cut, which I like. Showed her a picture and she nailed it flawlessly. Great personality, has a very helpful assistant who makes sure you have a cape on, brushes off hair from your face and walks you to the door when you leave. Whitney Dobbs at Salon D kicks major booty!!! My hair is a freakin mess (thick, curly, frizz ball) and every time she works on it I love it. You can tell she is extremely educated in what "will work" with your hair type, and won't. I have even emailed her pictures to see if the cut would work for me. She hasn't ever colored my hair (it's naturally red so I have finally learned to leave it alone) but she does an amazing color job on my friend's hair.
