Well Stacie got to where she was not doing all my lashes either. Or so I thought. She finally told me that my lashes were breaking off so that was why they were not as thick. I have since quite doing them all together and just use false eyelashes when I'm going out for the evening. Don't know if it was here "wonderful" glue or the weight of the lashes but I won't do this ever again! They have still not grown back out to what they were and it's been at least 6 months since I quit doing them.... read more

I had a bad experience here and wrote a review. It was an accurate account of the poor service I received form Nayoung. She immediately called me and agreed to refund my money. I offered to make another visit and see if we could fix the problem, instead of a refund. I was asked to either upgrade to 4 star or delete my post, which I agreed to do. That was in the morning. That afternoon I got a text that she was calling her attorney because I didn't delete the post, yet. Ridiculous. I love coming to Salon D. I get my hair cut and colored by Ardem and also sometimes Rachel Ani. They are the best in their field and I trust both of them with my hair. It's come to the point when I sit in their stylist chairs and simply tell them "please make my hair look good" and they take the reigns without me feeling nervous as I used to at other salons where I specifically gave details of the look I wanted with unsuccessful results. ALSO**** I love the complimentary scalp and neck massage the salon provides when their techs wash your hair. It lasts anywhere from 3-7 minutes and I am thankful every time! It literally feels of the quality of a massage spa. Also, Emily Bonney is AMAZING! I am so happy with my eyebrows. I always used to go to Indian threading salons and she pointed out to me that they often times flatten the eyebrow's arch and keep your brows too narrow and close in the middle. My jaw literally dropped when she handed me the mirror after she completed her work. I looked more feminine, refined and much better with her changing my eyebrow style. Furthermore, I got a gel manicure from Stephanie and I am extremely happy with the results. If you have pic or any idea about what hairstyle you want just show or tell her. Due to I have not got hair cut for two years so my hair status is kind of different. I decided to try Salon D because I work nearby and I have been needing to get a haircut for a long time. I usually go downtown but my stylist is far and I thought I'd try something new. So Facebook Deals had a coupon and I thought this would be a good opportunity to try it out. (Hey times are tough, I'm trying to save!) I called the salon and set an appointment and told them straight up, I have a Facebook Deal, please set me up with whoever honors that. So she set me up and I went in after work. I walked up to the counter and I said had a 6:00 appointment and I had a Facebook Deal. I asked the receptionist how I should handle the coupon. She told me to just give it to the stylist and it shouldn't be a problem. I overhear the receptionist call my assigned stylist to come get me. The receptionist says the following, "No, she's never been here before. You have to come get her to shampoo her hair. She doesn't know where to go, you have to come get her because I am by myself up here. I can't leave my desk." So she hangs up the phone and directs me to the lobby and my stylist came get me after waiting for 15 minutes. The stylist comes out with another client and motions me to follow her. She then directs me to the shampoo station and it was BEHIND THE RECEPTIONIST DESK. All I had to do is go behind the receptionist desk and turn left and there was the shampooing station. So she left me in there and waited for me at her station. I mention I had a Facebook deal for the third time. When I sat down Na Young (the stylist) straight up looked at me and said, "Cut short?" Uh no. Then she rolled her eyes and said, "Hmm, want to see a picture?" Of what? Her kids? So she fiddles around on her iPad and pulls up an array of pictures of people's hair. Relieved, I scroll through and pick a picture of a woman with very long layers. Na Young says, "Oh, long bangs?" UH NO. No, LONG BANGS. So I chose another picture of a girl with even longer hair to avoid LONG BANGS and short hair. She nods and starts combing my hair. She then asks, "How long has it been since you last cut your hair?" I admitted that had been awhile because I had been super busy and had been traveling alot. She nods and says, "Yeah, I can tell." I told her to chop off 3 to 4 inches off my hair. She says " What, you only get your hair cut twice a year?" She then picks up my hair and lops off SEVEN inches off my hair. My hair went from long layers to shoulder length in 5 seconds. I was mortified. At that point, there's nothing you can say or do. I was able to at least stop her from giving me long bangs. I now have a layered bob. She asks me what kind of shampoo I used and I told her I used Aveda. She says, "Your hair is in good condition." Sheesh, after insulting me about not visiting the salon, at least she likes the condition of it. So after chopping my hair for 15 minutes, she blow drys my hair and finishes. I just wanted to get away and get out of the salon as soon as possible. So I handed her the Facebook coupon (which was $30 for a $70 haircut) and a $14 tip. She hands me back the paper and announces to everyone in the Salon that she charges $55.00 for a haircut and that I owed her money. I told her that the Facebook Deal was for a $70 haircut and before I sat down in the chair, I made it clear to everyone that I had a coupon. (I went back on the salon website and you can get the same deal- $30 for a $70 haircut. She says, "You ONLY paid $30." She drags me to the receptionist and demands I pay her the $25.00. Confused, the receptionist look at the coupon and calls over another hair stylist to clarify the matter. The other hair stylist says, "OH, this was supposed to be my customer. I'm sorry." TO the woman who cut my hair. Not to ME. She says, "I'll take care of your fee." So then Na Young grabs my arm and says a very insincere, "Thanks for coming in." and led me to the front door of the salon and basically pushed me outside. What the f***. I am standing there horrified that my hair has been brutalized and the salon just humiliated me for using a coupon. I can pretty much say I will go back to my $65 hair stylist in downtown. It's a valuable lesson in, NEVER CHEAT ON YOUR STYLIST. read more

I always have alexa dimaggio do my hair and never once have had anything but an excellent result. She is super friendly and personable,but more importantly she has a lot of skill and is precise and quick, but never sloppy or unproffesional. I don't trust anybody else with my hair! We scheduled 8 hair (6 of the hair lengths were below the shoulders) and 4 make up appointments. Salon D got us out in less than 3 hours. WORD. Our entourage, rolled up to the salon around 9AM the day of my cousin's wedding. The first batch of girls were quickly ushered off as I waited for my stylist to arrive. I noticed a woman come in with a bouquet of flowers, mini muffins, strawberries, and champagne. She set out a table next to the front desk and then came over to introduce herself as my stylist. "Hi I'm Victoria!" A bundle of energy, she escorted me to a private room to get my hair diddddd. "I stopped off at the store to get you girls some goodies. There's some orange juice and champagne if you ladies want some mimosas!" I liked this lady already. She wasn't super chatty with me during the styling (there was a lot of blow drying), but she was very animated and honest. Her ideas seemed kinda "Texan" to me, big hair and whatnot.. and although I do hail from NJ, I was never one for big hair. She did, however, say that if at any time I didn't like what she was doing I should definitely tell her. "Don't worry about me, my feelings won't get hurt!" She ended up doing my hair just right, gauging my style from the way I came in with my hair. With a couple comments from me, there was really no need to tell her to scale back. Victoria also did the bride's hair and the flower girl's.. a-freaking-dorable. The flower girl got some hair bling in the form of spray glitter (which we later followed.. because.. aren't we all 5 y/o princesses sometimes?). After hair, it was off to the make up person for me (I think Rachel, but I'm double checking on the name). I don't wear make up EVER, but because I was the maid of honor, the bride insisted I get a new face. haha.. I'm not the best at telling what make up is best on my face, but I got compliments all night. I even ended up buying the lip gloss since it looked so natural but had a little pop to it (although it was $19.. ouch Jane Iredale products). And like I said, they got our party of bride, mother of the bride, flower girl and 5 bridesmaids out in record time... well.. enough time to stop and get some food before the wedding.. SCORE! I would most definitely recommend this place for bridal parties or large parties in general because of their awesome resources. This place is much larger than it looks from the road.. and it's easy to look over because it's basically in a strip mall. 4 hours in chair. Really badly messed up haircolor (looked like Amy Winehouse with short hair--with a bleached stripe directly on scalp in front). Visibly upset, I negotiated a cheaper price with stylist due to dissatisfaction, wrote a check, and left without getting haircut I was scheduled for...just had to leave (it was 9pm by now). Next day, the owner of Salon D calls me on my cell and implies that I stole from him. I explained that I had left a check...(was he aware at all of this? He never led me to believe one way or the other.) Since this time, I have used 1/2 day vacation time to go to my old stylist to fix my color. Have spent $305 (before tip) in two sessions to get me to the color Salon D was supposed to get me to that night. Not to mention the damaged hair that's been cut off now. Just unbelievable!! Especially considering that the owner consulted with my stylist on the colors chosen for me, and has been in this business for many, many years. You would think two things from this: that the correct colors would have been chosen to get me to the picture I brought in, and most importantly, that he would know how to resolve a customer service issue. Neither happened here. Instead he called me up to chastise me and implied that I broke the law by stealing services!!?!? All while I'm at work, wearing a hat (thank goodness for casual Fridays) to conceal this mess! And then, he cashed my check. I'm telling everyone I know. And they're telling others. read more

Some stylists will not hear you out and just act like they always know what will look good on you. Rachel caters to your needs. For an example I finally decided to make my hair un-virgin and get highlights and color. She listened to what I wanted to do with my hair but she also gave her opinion and thoughts on what would look good as well. We decided together as a team, what color and highlights should be done. I love that. I recently just got a brazilian blowout done by her too and its amazing. People have been seeing my pictures on facebook and ask me how my hair got so shiny and what products I use, lol. I moved here from out of state and was very nervous about finding a new hairdresser but turns out I was nervous for nothing because I have the best hairdresser. I have naturally red hair and take medication that also alters and changes the hormones in my body and can change how my hair reacts to hair dye. Laurie is able to get me to the blonde hair that I love and I constantly get compliments on how healthy my hair looks.
