June 2022 I read reviews before I went there for a mani pedi and, honestly for $60 I was more than disappointed. The salon was clean and cool, but Annie hardly spoke to me, she gave me a manicure but didn't cut the cuticles down or even give me a polish. I didn't say anything because I was already unhappy with the way the pedi went ... short soak in lukewarm water, cut nails (no cuticles) and lightly scrubbed my feed which, admittedly, were in bad shape. No shaving, no grating, hardly any scrubbing. Calluses stayed where they were. That was called a "spa pedicure" because ... why? I totally felt taken advantage of. I was a brand new client and she didn't do hardly a thing to impress me to come back. Even the parking was terrible! I say pick another nail place to spend your good money at. read more

For example, her sign outside states, "Walk-In's Welcome," but that is not true, so I suggested you should remove it since it throws people off. Her answer was, well they should know. So how would you know until you walk in, then she tells you that you have to make an appointment or comeback later, when its convenient for her vs. being convenient for the customer. Also she only accepts cash, she should also put that on her sign as well. Pros: The owner is very efficient! She is friendly and does good work. The pricing is very reasonable and she can practically help you whenever you walk in! Cons: The owner is efficient but she doesn't hide the fact that she is rushing when there are other customers waiting. You can tell that she just wants to finish whatever she is doing as quickly as possible so she can move on to the next task. Nothing wrong with that but when that happens, it makes me feel slightly unwelcome since she basically wants me out of her chair as quickly as possible so she can see other people. Went here a few weeks ago to get a pedicure. I usually go to a place over in Kirkland by my office, but it was a Saturday and I needed something close to home. There is nothing 'Paris like' about Salon de Paris. It is your basic low-end nail/hair salon. I didn't have to wait, and the pedicure was only $21. However, it was rushed, not relaxing, the gentleman cut my nails way too short, and the polish job was sloppy. If I wanted a mediocre pedicure, I would have done it myself and saved the $21! After my nails dried, I was quite hungry, so I went next door to the Vietnamese restaurant to get a Banh Mi to-go. Super duper clean, and the owner, Alan, is friendly and remembers his clients. Definitely a no-nonsense place, which I really like. Sometimes the drama and pomp of places like Gene Juarez is just too much to bear. I've had two cuts here and for $15, it is absolutely fabulous. I have naturally curly hair which I wear straight, and I get a layered cut. Sure, it's not quite as good as the cut you'd pay $85 for, but it is verrrrry verrrrrry close and you just saved $70 and a whole ton of fuss. Today I went in with my mother in law to get a pedicure, and SdP is running a Weds Thurs deal for free mani with purchase of a spa pedi. We decided after our pedis to get our hair cut, too, so we walked out of there with nails, toes, and cuts for $31. THIRTY ONE dollars. Are you kidding me? That leaves a lot of room to do a nice tip, too. read more

If you are one of those people who enjoys the "beauty parlor" about as much as having a pap smear, these people will make it as painless as possible and will do a great job too. Don't be fooled...there is nothing "Parisian" or "salon-like" about this place. It's bare bones. But it's clean and the people there are really super nice. Not too much chit-chat and they always remember me and seem glad to see me. They get you in and out, give you what you want, and if you don't know what you want they will figure it out and it will be fine. read more

The second time, however... ...needless to say, if you're getting a basic a-line bob, he does a decent job, at a good price ($15). If you're going in for layers, I say rob the piggy bank and go somewhere else - or you'll end up looking like Florence Henderson. I don't bad mouth people/businesses, that's not my nature - but personally, if you have thick, curly/wavy hair, do you want someone to ignore your request to not use thinning shears (the scissors with teeth)? I walked in for a hair cut on a Thursday afternoon from the direction of Yelp. It seemed fast, easy, and cheap. My expectations were low for this haircut as I just wanted 3 inches cut up and cleaned up which would keep my hair long. Well, the gal that was working (she never shared her name nor spoke more than a few generically friendly sentences) took a clean six inch chop off of the back and I am now sitting here writing this review with a chin length bob. It was one of those haircuts that kept getting shorter, and shorter due to her cutting my hair freehand and loose. After the cut was done, I noticed it was uneven in the back and asked her to clean it up. She grabbed a short hair clipper and used it on the ends to blend the sad ends. I just wanted to shorten my hair a bit and carry on but I ended up with an entirely different look. It's not enough to complain as in the end it will grow back anyway, but I've learned my grown up lesson. You get what you pair for. And I should pair for a good haircut next time! read more

I've gotten my hair cut there with Allen for almost 2 years now. As I usually only get a short buzz cut, my demands are not high. However, Allen always takes time to make sure my buzz is smooth and very sharp. He only charges $12 which makes me happy as well. Annie does my wife's hair, coloring it and straightening it in a way that she only has to get it straightened (she has long curly hair) every 6 months. Their prices are very reasonable and the mani/pedi is a nice treat as well. If you're looking for a swanky salon with atmosphere, this is not the place. But it is very clean and the employees are really sweet and work hard to do a great job. I highly recommend Salon de Paris. read more

There is nothing fancy about Salon De Paris (despite the fancy name) but it's close, clean and quick. I've never been here for a hair cut, but come here quite frequently for a mani/pedi. Alan is awesome! He's quick and does a fantastic job every time. They have 4 pedicure chairs, but often only 1-2 people at a time available to do your nails, so if you come with a larger group it may take a little longer than usual. Well worth the wait though. Great selection of colors, many choices if you want a fancier mani/pedi (paraffin, hot stones etc) and super friendly. read more

Funny how I was just reading the last reviewer and my bf had the EXACT same experience where the lady did not give him what he asked for. I'm also upset because she gave him a buzz cut and he looks like he's about to enlist in the army. The two stylists have similar comprehension issues, however my bf likes the gentleman a little bit more, but you have to catch him on a good day otherwise you will get a buzz cut like the rest of the cadets. I don't review much and I definitely don't give bad reviews often at all - I give people the benefit of the doubt. Very close to our new house and $18 for a men's haircut so I had to give it a shot. I figured it would take a few times for her to get my haircut right so I was patient and gave it 3 chances. No shampoo to wash out any hair product so, right there, I knew it would be tough to get a decent, even cut. No rinse afterward to get rid of the hair and never offered any product. First time was a poor cut, second time I let her know what was wrong about the first cut so it was much better. 3rd time was a worse than the first. Didn't even use scissors - was doing everything free hand with a clipper. I knew it was over right after she started... Just like anything else - you get what you pay for. I feel badly giving a bad review but maybe it will help her do a better job. We all need feedback in order to improve. read more

The first time, I went to Annie. I showed her a photo of me (an 8.5 X 11) so she could see what I wanted. I explained that I didn't want "white side walls"...too short on the side. I also explained that I didn't want it long on the top because as it grows I started to resemble Lyle Lovett. She nodded and pretended to understand. Pretended. She did nothing as I asked. She even thought the photo was of John F. Kennedy. She doesn't pay attention and gave me a technically okay haircut, but noting like I asked. I asked her to, at least, shorten to top. She said she couldn't do that. (Is she insane or just incompetent? I came back the next day, and asked Alan if he could fix it. He did it in a flash and was really nice. The next time, I asked for an appointment with Alan. Annie made the appointment for 4:00. I arrived at 4...no Alan. I was told to go walk around for a half hour. Great. Alan came at 4:30. No apology. I showed him the same photo, asked him if he remembered fixing my hair and he said he did. Good. Then, he just whipped out the clippers and buzzed my hair until it was wayyyyy too short on the sides and nothing like the photo. Too long on the top,AGAIN. Do they only know one haircut...something called "Number Two"? I left, displeased, and looking like an Enlisted Man in the U. S. Army. Thanks. I found out Annie's real name is Lam. This is GREAT for what it is. Nothing fancy, just to the point services. Mani/ pedi combos on Mon & Tues was $21 (buy a pedi, get your mani free) and a hair cut with blow out was $14.95 (no kidding). I'm used to much fancier salons, but I'm happy with my haircut, even though its too short (it was my own fault, from my direction) and hair color services are reasonable ($55 for touch ups, $55 for partial foils). I will definitely go back again, Annie is a total sweetheart. Just keep in mind this is a NO-FRILLS salon, and you'll be pleased. Do not get your hair cut here!! I needed to find a new stylist to cut my daughter's hair (former one moved) and noticed this place while in traffic. She needed a hair cut and saw that it got decent reviews so i called in and ask if they had availability that day. The lady on the phone said they did so we parked and went in. There was only one employee so I told her that i just wanted a trim as we are growing her hair out to donate, no more than at inch off the bottom. No discussion of where does she part it, nothing. Next thing i know, the cape went on, she took the ponytail holder out, and then started spray down my daughter's hair. I thought perhaps shampoos are extra? Then she brushed the damp hair behind my daughters shoulders and lopped off at least three inches....straight across her back, no hair between fingers, no sectioning of hair, nothing. I thought OK maybe there was a miscommunication/misunderstanding on how much to cut. Hair grows so i thought OK don't panic, the stylist will now get on with the rest of the cut and that was just to get rid of some length. Then the "stylist" started to randomly snip at the ends of hair - no comb, no using the other hand, just the right hand snipping chunks of hair off towards the bottom, anywhere from a quarter inch to and two inches were falling. Was this some other planet version of layering?!? And then that was it, she took off the cape less than ten minutes after she started. I am pretty sure my mouth was hanging open. We left with my daughter's hair looking like a wet, mangled mess! I HIGHLY suspect that the lady who cut my daughter's hair was not licensed to cut hair and was really one of their manicurist. I cannot prove this but I cannot image anyone going through beauty school would cut hair this way. I ended up having to take her in to another salon right afterwards to fix her mangled hair. She ended up loosing more length in order to fix what Salon de Paris did to her hair. In total her "trim" cost her more than six inches of hair. Saw a couple good reviews here on yelp, and decided to try it. For the price you can't beat it. Men's haircut for $15 seems unbeatable for the area. Annie was quiet when she first started with the clippers but quickly warmed up to me and we had a great conversation. She followed my instruction and did exactly what I wanted. The waiting area is pretty funny with it's typical 90's style headshot books and posters. Go knowing what you're in for and you'll be fine. Cheap shop with good stylists. read more

I really don't understand the hair stylist (I believe her name is Lam?), I've given her so many chances because I believe in giving people second and third chances, also because I live across the street it's super convenient for me to just walk over. But usually I have to drive to a different county just to get the type of haircut I want. At Salon de Paris I always tell her how to cut it, very simple really... one inch off the top, light trim on the sides, number one in the back... I know it might look unkept when it's unstyled but when I style it with products the finishing look is great. Had it this way for over 15+ years, even showed her pics. She says OK as if she understands how I want it, then SURPRISE cuts it completely opposite and tells me it won't look right otherwise, even though I just showed her how it eventually looks like when styled. Now I understand why she always turns my chair around when she starts cutting... so I can't see my hair until she finishes ruining it. And just like the other negative reviewer here, she just buzzed my hair off with the clippers, no trimming with scissors, and I knew it was ruined before she was even halfway done. The irony is that she left my back long and the sides very short, total opposite of what I asked for. I could sense she knew I was pissed and was surprised that I even still tipped her. Look Lam, if you are reading this, it's my hair I know how it'll look. Just please cut it the way customers ask you to. Sorry to sound harsh but this place is my last resort when I need a haircut, the past few times it was an urgent situation because I didn't have time to drive all the way south during traffic to my regular gal, so I didn't have many options to begin with. But I've had the very same specific issue with you each time in the past so it's really my fault for going back knowing that you're going to mess up my hair. There are other clients on Yelp who experienced the same frustrations as me. Please LISTEN to our constructive criticisms: cut our hair how we requested it, not how you think it should look, but oblige us when we say not too short, don't cut it too short!!!!! This salon, across from the Ballard Market, is a little formidable looking in a purple neon big hair kind of way but I was desperate for a manicure and decided to give it a go and I'm so happy that I did. The place is SPOTLESSLY clean with nary a Nagel print inside and I received the best no nonsense manicure I've had in ages. I'm looking forward to trying a pedicure next and folding a Saturday stop into my weekend chore routine! read more
