I booked via a Groupon since I was in the market for a new stylist. I was not disappointed with Stephanie. She changed me from a bright blonde to a dark brunette and talked me through the whole process. My hair doesn't hold color very well but it's been 2 weeks and it's still going strong. When I first meet people they can't believe I'm a natural blonde because of the time Stephanie took to really listen to what I wanted and helped match the best color to my skin tone. I went to Salon de Vive randomly as it was a salon close to my friend's place. I was desperate for a blow dry as my hair (curly, coarse, unruly) was not done and was feeling too lazy to do it myself. I booked a blow dry with the owner, Vi and she fit me in asap. To cut the review short, Vi gave me the best blow dry I've ever received (and as a person with thick curly dry hair, that is not an easy feat). I've had a blow dry done at the hands of many a stylist and I was shocked. I didn't even wash my hair for over a week to let it last as long as it did. Trust me, my hair is impossible to smooth out, and I don't know what she did, but it was magic. Also, while I was getting the blow dry, we talked about hair treatments and she recommended the GK keratin treatment for my hair. I've gotten many a keratin treatment in the past and was looking for something a little stronger. I didn't want to just eliminate frizz, I wanted to make my curls wavy so I can literally wash and go (because I'm very lazy and never, ever get to do that with my current hair). So I booked a treatment with her (because the aforementioned blow dry was insane and clearly she knew what she was doing). Two plus hours at the salon (I have a lot of hair) flew by because she's just super easy and pleasant to talk to, and the treatment is awesome. My hairline, which is often my curliest and coarsest part, was so smooth and straight, while the rest of my hair was wavy and soft. I didn't even bother straightening it, which I'm sure would have taken no more than ten minutes (down from around 40). I called in very last minute asking if they could fit me in for highlights and a cut on the same day. They were able to accommodate and did an absolutely fantastic job. I have extremely curly hair and very picky about salons, but I had let my color go for so long it was just time. Emmett fit me in later for the afternoon and walked me through what his thoughts were for a "fresh" look. I appreciated that they didn't try to up-sell me for services or products and I ended up spending more because of that. After reading tons of Yelp reviews and calling over 10 salons I decided to book my partial highlight at Salon de Vive with Vi (the owner). First, Vi is so kind! Her consultation was thorough and she asked all of the right questions. I am pretty easy going when it comes to my hair so I let her choose what she wanted to do (as long as it matched my extensions). Overall it took about 1.5 hours for a highlight and a beautiful blowout. I can't stop looking at my hair it is amazing, I love it! I purchased a Groupon for a cut and single process hair color for $65 and got a decent deal...let's be honest: I'm just trying to not spend crazy money on a couple grey hairs and trimming a half of an inch from my grow out. And, yes! I did get want I wanted. Abby colored my roots and trimmed my ends without any extra toner costs or any extra service charges (of course I tipped - I'm not a jerk). I went in for a full blonde balayage, cut, and asked for a deep conditioning/hydration treatment as well. Beata did my hair, and I ended up with streaky blonde highlights. It wasn't at all blended, and there were even two random spots of blonde near my roots where she accidentally dripped some of the color and didn't fix it... It looked like some terrible color job straight out of the early 2000s. She spent most of the appointment telling me what terrible condition my hair was in and how she couldn't understand why it was so damaged, when it actuality it wasn't even that bad (my hair has definitely been in worse shape.) She made me feel terrible for the way that my hair is naturally thin and fragile and like I had been walking around looking ugly. Then she proceeded to dry cut my hair for a total of about 3 minutes, making it look choppy and leaving split ends intact. She said she wouldn't do a deep conditioning treatment because I apparently "didn't need it"....despite her going on and on about how dry my hair is. I left the salon in tears and embarrassed by how bad she made my hair look, and I immediately booked an appointment the next day with a different stylist at a different salon. Thankfully she was able to make my hair look healthy and beautiful. I wish I hadn't purchased this Groupon, because I never would've paid for the terrible cut and color I received. Do yourself a favor and never trust Beata with your hair. Unless you have a thing for bad haircuts and wish it was still 2003. In which case she's probably your gal. read more

I bought a Groupon like everyone else, chose Beata based on other reviews. My ultimate goal was for my hair to look beautiful. I trust experts. I have EXTREMELY long hair. I showed her a photo of the color I thought I wanted and she was happy to do that but also showed me other reds that I might like. We settled on mixing two colors. While she's coloring my hair, she casually asks, Why do you keep your hair so long? I stammered and then told her how I thought it was my best feature (but wasn't asking for a compliment), she understood and then told me how she thought it could be more beautiful cutting off damaged ends and giving it shape. She always gets the color to exactly what I'm looking for and the cut is always perfect no matter the request. I've also done two keratin treatments with her with great results! I went there with a "coupon" and asked for Beatta. I looked her up and found her reviews favorable. It was supposed to be for a cut and condition. Ok, so I'll try it once to see if I liked it. I never got a condition treatment, I don't count the little gob of conditioner they put on in the sink as a "treatment". She cut my hair without asking where the natural part was so when I got home, it didn't lay right and was uneven. And when she was blowing it dry,, she used two round bristle brushes and was pulling it so vigorously, that it bordered on being painful.
