If i could give this salon 0 stars i would. They absolutely DESTROYED my hair. I asked for full head of blonde highlights and my hair was fairly long and definitely was not that thin. After they did my hair it was bright orange/yellow, my hair got insanely thin, and i asked them to do a TRIM and they chopped off half my hair. I was genuinely so insecure after them. They still charged me $250 and i can't even believe they let me walk out looking that way. I called them and told them how horrible of a job they did and they said to come in and they would fix it. They made it EVEN WORSE. They're a horrible place do not go here save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Everyone in this salon is friendly and nice. Unfortunately, nice doesn't mean your hairdresser will listen to your specific requests for color/cut. The last two appointments I let Layla know that I do not want my hair short, I am growing it out. She cut it too short anyway and left my hair looking like a poofy messy bob. Also, the last glaze she put into my hair came out too dark. Each appointment Layla was busy and hurrying to fit in other clients during my appointment time and also during my last appointment had other distractions as well. I don't feel she paid attention or took into consideration what I had said. I was really disappointed in the lack of focus, clients should be treated better. When I got home I immediately cancelled any future appointments. Time to find another salon. Pros - Friendly, fair price Additional Cons - lack of flexibility/availability of appointments, Poor job of shampoo at the sink, most times I would go home to wash my hair again to get the color out, also the chairs and sinks at the shampoo area don't seem to match up and are really uncomfortable and there is only one shampoo girl for the salon read more

This place deserves the five stars!! I made an appointment yesterday on a whim based on these Yelp reviews and I was not disappointed! I was actually running late (20 minutes to be exact) which is very unlike me, but I worked an overnight and slept through my three alarms. Jackie was so nice on the phone and they were still able to take me. Gayle did my hair and I absolutely loved it! I just wanted a change and she did exactly that, it's unlike any style I've ever had and I love it. Highly recommend these lovely ladies! I really wanted to like Salon Kroma. I was hoping to find my go to place but I was so disappointed with my experience. My appointment was for 2:30. Evidently they took to many appointments or the services requested were taking much longer than anticipated. They did call me to inform me that they were running behind however, this was at 2:20 when I was just about to pull into the parking lot. I thought, no problem. I'll have a coffee and read a magazine. - I was happy to have the opportunity to relax and be pampered! Upon arrival it was obvious they were busy. They informed me again of the wait however when I saw the client with my assigned stylist it was clear this was going to be a while. She was in the process of a full color change. I waited in front of the salon for over an hour. Not one person asked me if I needed anything, offered a drink or even suggested another stylist. By 3:45 I was greeted and was taken to the chair. Amanda, who my appointment was with had her other client in her foils and was under the dryer. This gave her the opportunity to meet with me and discuss my needs. All I needed was a root touch up and a trim. She went to the back and prepared my color. Another staff member offered me a drink, I requested a coffee. When I received it, it was cold. Amanda applied my color and I sat for a half hour to let the magic happen. The assistant took me to the sink to wash my hair. The water was cold. So cold I was surprised she continued to wash it as her hands must be freezing too. So far this was not the salon experience I was so badly needing. The towel was draped over my shoulders and then I was left again. I just went to the chair myself and sat there for another Half Hour! I sat patiently in the chair for 30 minutes while Amanda was feverishly working on her other client so she could get to me. The other staff were cleaning their stations and preparing to go home. While I sat there cold with my wet hair, the assistant proceeded to mop the floor. She mopped all around me and while everyone was wrapping up their day, I, the customer sat there with a wet head and Amanda clearly doing her best. Amanda did a nice job. The color was good, and she did cut and blow dry as requested. She apologized for the wait and thanked me for my patience. I really cant blame her for my experience. All and all a single process root touch up and trim for shoulder length should not take THREE HOURS. When it was time to pay for this fabulous service I mentioned the wait and that I wasn't too happy about the experience she said "well, it happens sometimes". If in fact these things "happen sometimes" then I think the least they can do is make their customers little more comfortable while they wait. read more

I really like this salon a lot. My husband bought me a gift certificate for here for Christmas so I could get my hair lightened so our wedding back in May. I went for 3 trips, and they did exactly what I wanted each visit. One visit, they were extremely busy, but they kept me preoccupied and asked me constantly if I needed anything, along with comping one of the services because I waited patiently for nearly an hour. The staff is friendly and accommodating as well. I would recommend this salon to anyone if they do not have a salon to go to yet. Pricing is fair, not the cheapest, and not the most expensive. Started going here when my stylist, Gayle moved to this location. Not only is Gayle amazing, versatile and full of new ideas every time I go, but I've come to get familiar with the entire kroma staff. I went today for hair and makeup for my engagement shoot later on in the day and from the moment you walk in, you are pampered and attended to. My brows were beat red because they were just waxed at another place I go to and the receptionist, owner and makeup girl really helped me with cool off cream and even gave me a teabag to dab, which did the trick. The topper was when my lips were dry and I needed chapstick before she applied my lipstick, she went into her personal bag and squeezed some vasaline balm on my hand to use. I have been to many salons but customer satisfaction is their top priority and I definitely felt like a queen today. I'm getting married next year and won't go anywhere else. read more

I used to get so many compliments on my hair and now I get none. Not happy about my experience. I had really long beautiful hair and they cut over a foot of my hair off for no good reason, I even said "keep it as long as possible" upon arrival. It's as if they didn't understand the concept of layers and kept cutting my hair shorter. I am still very upset about not having the long hair I worked so hard to grow, it will take years to now grow it back. I needed a simple dye job from ombré back to dark brown which came out fine but I could still see the color difference that day and now two weeks later the lighter color is starting to show through a decent amount. read more

I am so happy with my new hair salon that I just had to share. I went there for the first time for full highlights and haircut. Stephanie did both. I loved my color. i went in for a full but Stephanie told me I didn't need a full - what salon talks you out of services (so great!!!!! I appreciated that she saved me money). First, the place is beautifully decorated. A job well done by whoever chose the decor. The staff was great - friendly, accommodating - offered me a beverage as soon as I walked in. Stephanie did an amazing job, I love both the color and the cut. I am now going to bring both my daughters back as we have surely found our new go to place. I should note that I stopped in a few days after my cut to get eyelashes for a fun night out. That was great too! $10 and i was in and out in 15 minutes and got compliments all night. I've been going here for 2 years and just now read some of the reviews. I am surprised at the comments of long waits and cold water. I am not a friend or relative, just a local who happened upon this salon. My first two stylists left and each time I got another great one. The staff is always friendly, coffee or water always offered. The water is always warm! I never wait more than a few minutes. They offer eyeglass covers so I can read with dye in my hair and they make you feel welcomed. Marina does my color now and I am thrilled. I sit in the chair and watch so many other have their hair done, the cuts are awesome. I've seen them do beautiful updo's on little girls for their confirmation, weddings etc.and edgy cuts and colors on teens. you can never please everyone but if you can please the masses you must be doing something right. read more

Just had my haircut by Gail and LOVE IT! She did such a great job. First time there. The salon is nestled in a strip mall off the main road. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. It seems like the customers have been going back for years which is comforting. My hair has not looked this good in a long time. Just had my hair colored and cut. I also got an Awapuhi protein treatment. Stephanie has been doing my hair for years and she never disappoints! In fact, people are always asking me who does it. Just had my first Awapuhi treatment and I love it. It's a nice alternative to a Keratin treatment. It lasts about a month and just tames your hair leaving it shiny and smooth. Now I am a permanent fixture and frequent Salon Kroma almost weekly. They are always willing to accommodate me. Gayle cuts my hair and also does my blow dries and special occasion styling. She's amazing! She has hands of gold and my hair looks amazing! After getting my color done elsewhere, I decided to try Marina and she was great. I'm surprised this place does well. I guess when everyone that works there is able to get their friends and family to come in and give them good reviews then it does. I have come here twice. If you want a relaxing salon experience, this might not be your first, second, or third choice. It's too loud, on top of the blow dryers, the stylists were extremely loud talking (yelling) to each other from across the salon, it's way too much. I was trying to read while waiting for my hair to process and it was too difficult to concentrate. The first time I went, I had to wait a half hour until they were ready for me which is funny because I made an appointment. It definitely seems as if they overbook and don't know how to handle it. This was the main reason why I was hesitant to come back. There was a sense of ingenuity from the stylists too. Also, on both occasions, they ran out of hot water so beware. I personally don't mind cool water on my hair but I know most people do not. And it didn't happen to me but I did see TWO clients walk away with their shirts wet from the sink, so make sure to ask for an extra towel. My shampoo girl made sure that I wasn't getting wet and was comfortable which I liked. The shampoo girl did seem overwhelmed as she was being asked to do several things. My hair was okay, it felt dry & definitely processed despite receiving a "conditioning treatment" which I'm pretty sure was just regular conditioner because my hair was pretty greasy afterwards. The cookies were good, fresh. 2 stars for the cookies and the shampoo girl and the fact that my hair is holding up pretty well. I believe this place can work out a few kinks but if not, I don't see it lasting very long. read more

This salon kroma terrible worst experience of my life not only was the service horrendous the floors was full of hair and dirt there were hair products all over the place it looked like a mad house the manager sitting in the chair texting watching her business slowly crumble my appointment was at 2:30 I wasent in the chair until 3:15 there no was no apology no compensation I work I have kids I explained to the stylist the way I wanted my hair she kept arguing that her idea would be better I was 2 minutes away from walking out but I wasted all this time so I stayed anyway. I regret that. I asked the the manager for a compensation for my problems and the fact my hair is completely destroyed she looked me in my face and said there is nothing she could do the price is the price i work for a law firm the embarrassment I go thru everyday is tragic worst experience ever read more

I literally just left Salon Kroma after getting my hair done by Kathleen and I didn't even drive away before I took my phone out to write this review. I am BEYOND happy with what Kathleen did with my hair. She took her time, really listened to what I wanted to do with my hair, and made it happen.
