So I had a bad experience last year with this salon, hence my review.. I recently got a call from a Manager, Liz, and was offered the opportunity to go back to the salon and get the same services I was not happy with last year, at the salons cost..I was a little hesitant, but I said hey..I think as a company that is awesome that they care enough to call the customer back in hopes to make things right. So I gave them a second chance..I can not tell you how HAPPY I am that I did. I have nothing but great things to say about Liz, she made me feel 100% comfortable, she understood exactly what I wanted, she told me about every single product she used on me, and asked if I had any questions regarding the product, since I got an ombre style color she explained everything she was doing step by step. I took my sister along with me, and she got a cut from Chelby, and she was also very happy with her cut, My sister also scheduled a dye with Liz for next week. The salon is still as beautiful & clean as I remember, needless to say I am very happy that I was given the opportunity to go back and have a completely different experience. Worst pedicure ever! The nail tech was so rough I spent most of the appt wincing in pain. She even made a couple of my toes bleed! The chair was uncomfortable, too. And did I mention she was 25 min late for my appointment?! She apologized and was very nice. I might have overlooked it if the pedicure had been a nice, relaxing experience like I had hoped. The only reason I gave more than one star was because she did a much better job with my manicure. I still won't be back though. read more

They were all very friendly. Sterling worked on my hair and she did an amazing job. I'm not very picky so I would consider myself extremely easy. I came to this salon after a friend told me about how great the service was. Sadly, this was not the true. I made an appointment a couple of days in advanced, and when I came in for my appointment the stylist came in 20 minutes late. Once she finally took me back to wash my hair all she would not stop talking about was how hungover she was and how she lost her ID the night before and how angry she was that she wasn't going to be able to get drunk on New Years without it. The lighting and wall color in the salon was very strange and it made my naturally light blonde hair look almost like an orange color. The girl (Neyssa) then called me a "ginger" and made fun of my hair color even though it is not at all orange. After about 30 minutes of listening to her complain, her friend walks in and asks for Neyssa to put on false eyelashes for a "hot date" she had that night in the middle of my appointment. After that, she took another break so she could order her lunch since she did not wake up early enough to eat breakfast. After over an hour of sitting in the chair she finally finished......my hair did not look any different. She did not do anything I asked her to my hair. It was barely half an inch shorter and there was still split ends in random patches. After she finished, she just walked away and didn't even walk me to the front desk. As I was signing the receipt she came over and stood over my shoulder while I filled out how much her tip was. Needless to say it was a very awkward moment. This salon is tacky and unprofessional. The stylist are constantly yelling across the salon and they all share equipment so Lord knows if they clean them in between clients. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! read more

I was disappointed with my experience. The end product was ok but the quality of service was poor. In the beginning I mentioned I wanted drastic yet ended up with subtle highlights. Moreover the stylist was running 30 mins behind and stated that it was because her client was late. If I was there on schedule, why would you make that my problem? Another instance that bothered me was when I was left under the dryer for 20 minutes for no reason because she was working on someone else. I understand that she has other things to do but there should have been more communication. I will patronize another salon where they are considerate of my time and don't have an attitude as if they're doing me the favor. read more

However, having Kayleigh work her magic on me made me feel like Miss Katy Perry herself. With the modern decor and pop music at the perfect volume, Intrigue created an atmosphere that left me forgetting about how nervous I was to cut my hair. Something I liked a lot about Kayleigh was that she took her time to make sure my cut was exactly the way I wanted it. Often times, stylists are just trying to work so fast that it makes me nervous they're going to make a mistake. After reading all the good reviews on here, I thought I would find a nice place to make my hair salon since moving to this lousy city. I was wrong. They are money-hungry and want to charge for every thing they possibly can. I am no stranger to nice salons, I lived in Phoenix for years, but they just took it too far. I asked for Natasha after reading the reviews on here. She was nice enough, but I felt as though I were just another head of hair to talk to. She didn't seem to really listen AND communicate well with me. She just didn't seem 'present.' This led to my great disappointment and loss of money that was a gift; as I am a broke grad school student at the moment. While the cut she gave me was great, the lightness of the highlights was not at all what I'd expected. I even commented to her that they usually leave them in longer and she replied it must be new products that work faster these days. I've been getting highlights for over 10 years and have never had a more disappointing result! I had family comment that they couldn't even tell I had gotten highlights! As I've always understood, if the customer is not satisfied with the result, a fix can be made at no charge. They refused to do this unless I paid AGAIN, albeit half-price. I found this to be a complete rip-off. I do not wish to be unfair (unlike them) and will mention that they did discount me some on the service prior to the unexpected results, but I still feel very wronged and robbed. I was willing to go back and give them a second chance (as in--not write this negative review) and after speaking to some one there a week later who told me the owner, Liz, would be back the following week and would call me then. It's been 2 and a half weeks since she was supposed to return and never bothered to call back to rectify the situation. I am completely disappointed. It was supposed to be an end-of-the-semester/haven't-had-my-hair-done-since-my-baby-was-born treat for me and it was completely ruined by this greedy pretentious salon. They try to make themselves seem prestigious and classy, but in truth, they are plain and simple thieves. Stay away unless you are a millionaire and don't care. P.S. I am new to the SA and was nervous about finding a good hair salon. Look no further! I was able to make an appointment super easy via Yelp and was able to be seen the very next day. I had an appointment with Brenda and she was awesome as was all the staff. The place itself is very cool and modern and clean. The staff is as professional as the place appears! I was greeted by a friendly front desk lady and then taken back soon after for a shampoo. When Brenda met with me I showed her a photo of what I was looking for and she was spot on. I've been a customer of Liz's for many years. Her new salon, Intrigue, is beautiful, upbeat, with a wide variety of services. She has always been on the cutting edge of new techniques. She is awesome with colors, cuts, styles..........Over the years, she has taken my daughter from a medium brown to a golden blonde by way of heavy highlights (very much a Taylor Swift look), to dark brown with low lights, to now an auburn with red highlights. Each color change, was performed very carefully, protecting the hair, and complimenting my daughter's skin tone. It's funny, my daughter seems to be a trend setter in school. I have a lot of gray, you would never know it though. Liz has adjusted my base color and has implemented highlights to help camouflage new growth. She cuts my long, curly hair in a way that I am able to wear either straight or curly, my choice. read more

I got a phone call from the store owner to come in for a service I was not satifisfied with a year ago, therefore, wrote a bad review on. I was not going to take her up on the complimentary offer, but ended up doing so. The fact that the salon cared about a my review from last year shows me how much they care about their client's feedback and satisfaction. On the day of my appointment there was heavy traffic caused by an accident and I must have called three times to let them know I was running late. I really didn't want to reschedule because I was going out of town the next day and wouldn't be back for quite a while. The salon worked with me and still penciled me in after the last time slot available and I was able to go in and service done. Well after going in, I must say that I was very pleased with the service this time around. The new waxing esthetician, was very professional and made it as pleasant as possible. She seemed experienced, friendly, and knowledgeable just as the owner said over the phone. I was super satisfied and upon my exit told the owner that I was going to update my review. I needed a trim and decided to give this place a try. I ended up with Jassie as my stylist. She was very sweet and did exactly what I wanted and was very good at making sure she trimmed off the amount I wanted and not over trimming. Also, my favorite thing about this place was their "Lather Lounge" where you get your hair shampooed. Instead of those uncomfortable sinks and chairs you have to lean back in to get your hair washed like most places... this place has flat beds you lay on with a sink at the end, which put no strain on the neck at all. It was wonderful! Also, Jassie made me a delicious cup of Pumpkin Spice tea for me while I had my hair done. All in all, a wonderful experience. read more

I have been in San Antonio for two years now and have bounced around to many different salons recommended by different people and haven't had much luck until today. The place is clean, professional, and has great customer service. They are also open 7 days a week and they stay open late. My stylists was Liz, the owner, and she gave me the exact cut and look I wanted! I love it! The best part is, I didn't even have to explain it to her that much. She knows how to look at your hair and figure out what will work best on it while also listening to what you want and discussing the final look. She is also very fast! She has great attention to detail and doesn't take hours for a cut. I will not go to any other place and will definitely be returning to Liz! read more

Okay so if you go through the hair colors on the facebook page I'm the fire ombré. I've only washed it 3x since having it done and my hair is orange and brown... My water is bright orange after I wash it (photo is on my facebook page) and my color has completely faded and looks like crap... I'm outraged that I wasted money on this.... I spent 4 hours and over $150 on a color that faded the very first time I washed it... Yes I am washing my hair in the coldest water I can get and I'm using color safe products.... I drove 20 minutes for this appointment and when I arrived the receptionist told me that someone else is doing my hair. I told him that I came specifically because of Neyssa. He said that she has an emergency and can't do my hair. Had my hair cut here several times and my daughters once. Was very pleased with the cuts provided by D'Rey. That said, the last appointment i had was told 12, show up at 1150 and the lady at the desk says she put me down for 1230. I'm like, ok. Today, I scheduled an appt for 130. Around 1245 they call to tell me she's running behind, can we push it to 330. So....she's running 2 hours behind? That's not behind, that's pushing me off for someone else. haha. Simply...awesome. I just moved here from California and had no clue which hair places were good out here--all I knew was I wanted to avoid the chains. From the moment I walked in Intrigue, I knew I was in the right place. Purple walls, black-and-chrome chairs, leopard print robes--this was the kind of place I would have gone to back home in LA and didn't think would exist in Texas. I only needed a haircut and showed up on a walk-in basis. They weren't busy and were able to take me right away. Had me put on a robe before the typical smock and led me to the shampoo area where I got to lay down for my wash. My stylist (I forgot her name, but it started with an S) asked specific questions about what I wanted done and clarified before beginning to cut. The blowdry actually took longer than the haircut--they don't just blast you with a dryer for three minutes, they actually section off and style your hair a little bit at a time. So, definitely not a quick in-and-out haircut place, but well worth the time spent. She made some adjustments to the cut after it was dry as we saw a few places still needing something, and then it was perfect! Best haircut I've had in years. From the decor and the way the staff kept offering me refreshments, I was afraid I would be in for a large bill when it came time to pay--but no, all that for just $35! Back home a place like this would have charged double and put itself out of my price range, but this...this I can afford, and I will definitely be back. read more

I was looking for a place to get my hair done after removing my hair extensions. My real hair looked just awful and I really needed a stylist to rescue it. I began my search for a new hair stylist and salon on google. That eventually led me to Yelp and Color by Intrigue Salon. I made an appointment for the next day via Yelp. Let me get to the punchline....I had an awesome experience. These folks treated me like gold. It's clear that customer service is important from the moment you walk through the door. I was greeted immediately and after a few minutes escorted to put on a smock. Then they offered me something to eat and drink while I waited. My stylist was Sterling. She asked what I wanted to do with my hair and after describing my situation she quickly grasped what I wanted and started mixing my color and highlights. I ended up being there for almost 4 hours. Sterling had a very busy schedule that day (Yelp had actually cancelled my appointment but I didn't find that email until a day later!). They never told me and kept my appointment anyway. This is one of the few times I've ever left a salon liking my hair color and cut AND feeling like I hadn't been ripped off when I checked out. I will definitely be back. It was nice to find a new salon so close to where I live and so focused on making sure their customers are happy. Give it a shot. You won't be disappointed. read more
