She took my seriously outdated hairstyle (if you could even call it that) and updated it with a fabulous new look. She asked questions and listened to my answers, but also used her professional knowledge and talent to make my hair look better than I thought possible. She also told me how she was styling it so that I can recreate the look at home. For once, I feel like I have a cute hairstyle that I can maintain until my next appointment! The salon itself is beautiful. I was a little confused when I walked in and there was no receptionist. However, after watching people come in and out for a few minutes, I decided that the lack of a receptionist really worked well there. It felt more like clients were walking into someone's living room rather than a hair salon. The artwork was gorgeous, if you're into that sort of thing, and the location is perfect for anyone who lives or works in Columbia. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

The trim was fine, she brought in a guy from the barber class to work on my undercut. The dye was to be blonde with red highlights. The blonde was fine, but the red didn't take. She said I could come back in for a redo, but she didn't know if they would recharge me. I made an appointment, but it was the that hurricane Helene came through so I'm not even sure if they opened, and I canceled, because I wasn't risking it. As far as a good service at a decent price I highly recommend, but just remember these are students and I don't think there's much of a guarantee. That's not to say they don't care, and I'm certain they will at least try to make it right. Also the new building is nice, I did prefer the old location, but at least there's a huge parking lot.

Everyone was quietly working on their manikin heads while I got my haircut and it was fun seeing what everyone was trying. I'm pretty low-maintenance when it comes to hair, but Lauren listened to me and we communicated about what I wanted -- that's the key! Suddenly, the week before my appointment Theresa would not be in the salon that day (kinda short notice but may have been unavoidable) They recommended Presley she's new, but they assured me she was excellent--checked out her IG looked good (she was a new stylist...my intuition was screaming NO)...went last Saturday she was messy with product, I had to ask to wipe bleach off my gown 3 times so it didn't ruin my clothes and she insisted I need a shadow root (I disagreed but she convinced me it created a more gradual grow out)....right before she ron es my color I felt like rubber bands were being pulled out of the roots and it was odd and taking longer than expected l-- but the color looked great and I was pleased. That evening I was outside at an event and when I got back to my car there were a Mohawk of broken hairs all standing up from my part and my scalp was red. After I washed and blow dryer my hair Thursday my entire top layers of hair are broken and stick out--no flyaways--broken fried hair oh and despite a good trim my ends are fried and the color Looks nothing like the day I left. I contact the salon they ask for pics and say it may be Tuesday before management can "review" ...they'd have to see it in person--but didn't schedule me?!?? Refunded my money and I begged them to tell me what to do now to prevent further damage (like a treatment or product) they basically said don't use heat--cool so I spent 200$++my hair is totally destroyed and it's getting worse everyday BUT as long as I never style my hair it will get better (these 1 inch broken hairs will take 5 years to grow to my current length)!! Absolutely appalling--they literally dgaf if all my hair breaks off and is ruined--Wow!! A refund doesn't fix what she did and they do NOT care-this is a crappy salon! Update they texted me today to tell me that because of my Yelp review they won't be able to service me anymore bc I made it very clear how I felt about their salon. This person actually implied me using a jot tool caused the damage!!! So, shockingly the son will not try to fix my hair or even pay to have color correction expert service my destroyed hair.
