I've had the same stylist cut my hair for the last ten years, I really don't let anyone else touch my hair because of the bad experiences I've had. Lately I haven't had time to get to him in Queens. So the ladies asked if I wanted a trim (I'm guessing because my hair was screaming for one) I said if someone has time sure. Marissa fit me in and asked me what I wanted. I told her to have fun with it but to preserve the length. She nailed it! And I love knowing she's a few blocks away from me. I plan to book my next dye with Christina and haircut with Marissa. i had an appointment today with Lexi to get my haircut and colored. when i made the appointment 2…read moreweeks ago i had to request an appointment in which i had to give my name, email and phone number in which were all up to date. i got a call the same day with an appointment time, in which i was very happy. but when i got to the appointment today as soon as i walked in the girl sitting at the desk looked at me sideways so from the second i walked in i felt a way, she then asked how she could help me and i said i had an appointment with lexi, she then tells me she tried to call me in which i never got a call at all, to tell me lexi was sick. i took off a whole day of work to get my hair done, so at this point im livid, i asked what number they called and she said my old phone number. when i scheduled the appointment request they had the correct number and called me to make the appointment! so why was my number not updated? it was giving rude and lazy, and they really didnt care i felt a bad vibe the second i walked in and honestly i wasted my whole day and lost money, it was just unprofessional that they had the correct number to make the appointment but not the right number to let me know she had to reschedule? no. i will never go here again, on top of they never let me know their address changed when i made the appointment so i went to their old location at first, they clearly don't have it together and are very rude. 0/10! never again!

I came to her really disappointed and weary after going to a pricey and well-known salon in the city where they did not give me the cut or color I asked for and left my hair underwhelmed and halfway done. I understand going from natural brown hair in a double process while maintaining healthy hair is a process but it seemed that my requests were taken with a grain of salt. Danielle listened to my previous experience, all my concerns and took the time to understand what I was looking for, setting clear expectations prior to scheduling our appointment together. She did exactly what I wanted and I am so extremely happy. I paid almost half the price of the other salon and she exceeded every expectation, from the amazing hospitality while sitting in the chair to her following up with me after my appointment and more. I can do my own make up but felt like really looking polished for my event. I guess I was expecting an all out glam like when I go to the MAC counters. I had to ask about my eyebrows, no contouring was done, and no concealer. I looked pretty dry. I also thought for 20 minutes on my face it was not worth the $50.00. There was not much of a selection of make up so not sure how the artist can get that creative. I would say make up job is ok but not worth the price.

The owners of the shop actjally have around the same hair texture as me which is one of the reasons I trusted to come here. Tina Marie did my hair. Shes a sweetheart and takes her time. She knew I was nervous. I had a pretty messed up experience at Ulta one time with someone who didn't know how to do my hair. I also had family holiday photos to be taken later in the day. I'm super used to going to get a Dominican blow out but Blow Chic has now upped the game for me. I got the classic blow out with the famous curls and let me tell you, Tina did that! I made an appointment and sent my staff to bring her and I couldn't believe how awful this haircut was. Instead of a smiling happy confident resident she was silent crying in the van on the way back asking the other kids for help because she has prom and is mortified of her new awful haircut. we have to take her somewhere else now to fix it. I'm so beyond disappointed in this hair salon because I was told they rushed and seemed like they were too busy even though we had an appointment. It might " just be a haircut" for some but for this young person it was a day she was looking forward to and patiently waiting for so she can look her best for prom and instead she left feeling insecure and like she didn't matter because the person doing her hair rushed her out and didn't even care that she left with frizzy uneven hair. please do better you never know whose in your chair and what being at a salon and getting a haircut meant to them.
