My name is Makayla garnes and I am a client at salon lofts, I used to see Gypsy Robinson, she was my hair dresser, I am very disappointed in her and this establishment, this has been THE worse experience I had ever had with Gypsy. So to tell you the story, last Saturday which was the 4th of April, I had wrote the lady next to Gypsy in the room, Which is the other hair dresser on the other side of the room with Gypsy, I had asked if she could do color in my hair because Gypsy said she wasn't doing color ok and not to mention she was charging clients 20 dollars to make house calls, I thought that was too much so I asked paradise if she did color and she said she was seeing a few clients, I asked if she could color my hair she said she could. I get a text from Gypsy that same Saturday around like 8-9ish, Gypsy so disrespectful to me, she was rude and childish, she said I couldn't be her client anymore because I went to someone else who had color options, I am going to make sure I go to corporate with this situation. There needs to be some consequences with her actions, I don't know if I will come back and I will make sure to leave a review on yelp. The lady had told Gypsy I was going to see her for color, I guess she just wanted to Gypsy to know but regardless whoever I choose to go to because it's my hair I am paying for my services. And it shouldn't of gotten out of hand like this. And then today Gypsy also had told me she doesn't owe me an apology for what she said, she tried to get rid of the messages but luckily I was able to retrieve the messages she sent me. So my sister got her frontal sew in done by a stylist named Tiwana Mitchell. She charged 375 dollars for the installation so we initially thought the stylist would customize the unit for us.. We quickly found out that she wasn't going to do anything because she didn't know how to do that style. To make a long story short the stylist had an attitude and instead of taking it up with me she pulled all of my sisters hair out from the root by gluing the cap to her braids. She left her baby hair out in the front and the back so now my sister doesn't have any hair on the sides or the back due to her negligence!!! read more

I think the hairstylist should first take a course on what it Means to render Good Service to a paying Customer, on a couple of reviews for a stylist to keep the property of a Customer, not return it after not performing a service she is no better than the common thief in a booth, if her business is doing so badly that you have to nickle , dime every customer for a shampoo that should be a part of it's service. then she needs to go back to cosmetology school because she doesn't trust her craft enough to bring in the Customers based on Positive reviews for GOOD work, her reputation. read more

I commissioned stylist Tiwanna Jordan at this salon to render hair services for a photo shoot for the launch of a line of hair products I was launching.Things started off well, I advised the stylist of the hair I wanted for the shoot and informed her that two models would be arriving to her salon the same day to receive their services. She agreed and advised me that pricing would be $175 per person over text (350 total). Trying to make things go as seamless as possible the weekend of the shoot, I paid Tiwanna a day in advance and also drop off the extensions I needed her to install. Once I arrived, she advised me that in addition to the $350 that was due, I would also need to pay an additional $100 for her to simply shampoo the hair that would be installed!!!! WHAT IN THE WORLD???? What stylist charges someone extra for a shampoo (typically this is all included in the install service). Although I thought this was ridiculous, I obliged, as it was crunch time and I wanted things to go as smoothly as possible. I was very put off by the attempt to nickel and dime a new client, but still forked over approximately $480 in COLD HARD CASH (even included a little extra for a tip!) because this was a big deal for my hairline launch & I wanted to make sure things went as planned. That was my next mistake! Then things really went left. The morning of the shoot, one of my models bowed out last minute & could not come to her appointment to receive the hair services already paid for due to an emergency. I reached out to Tiwanna to advise her of this, to which she smugly responded that she charges a 100% cancellation fee for appointments that are not kept. REALLY???? 100% 4 a CANCELLATION FEE? Most professionals in the industry charge a minimal fee of 25% or perhaps even 50% fee for the inconvenience (which is understandable as they could've been working on another client), but to charge a person full price for a service that was NOT rendered and for work that they DID NOT DO AT ALL is totally unacceptable and unprofessional!!! Emergencies happen, so having an 100% cancellation fee policy truly illustrates her lack of business acumen and customer service skills. I expressed my concerns about paying $500 for services not received, & Tiwanna begrudgingly agreed to meet in the middle, and indicated that she would give me a credit to receive the service as long as I scheduled within 90 days. Things seemed to be ok, when the following day I noticed a charge for $91.27 from a business called "SS Divine Designs" that I did not authorize on my card. I was confused as I paid all of my merchants in cash for the photo shoot. I racked my brain as I couldn't figure out who it was from, so I specifically spoke to Tiwanna who ASSURED me that she had not accessed any charges on my account, especially because I had already paid for services in CASH (I still have the receipt saying so!). So I disputed the charge since it was unauthorized and went on about my way. A few weeks later I texted Tiwanna in order to receive my hair service that was PREPAID FOR, and kept getting the run around. I attempted to reach out to her SEVERAL times and would either get no response, or get a brief "Oh, sorry I'll call you later" text sent back to me. I thought this was extremely odd, as this person was very responsive to my calls and texts before she received my money a few weeks prior. Finally, about A MONTH LATER, I reach out to her again and received a response saying that she does not want to continue doing business with me because I "reported fraud on her account."She also indicated that she was concerned because I had my models sign a contract indicating that they would have to reimburse for any damages should they not follow through on the agreement they are signing off on.WTF?? 1st off, since this "stylist" never returned my phone calls,& wasn't even professional enough to pick up the phone speak to me, I still really have no idea what "fraud" report she is referring to, especially since I paid her in FULL USING CASH for my services (no account or card info was exchanged at all)!!! After trying to put the pieces together myself,I'm only guessing she's referring to the $91 I disputed back in September that was taken out my account, even though I reached out to her and only disputed this charge after speaking to her 1st & after she ADAMANTLY ASSURED me that she hadn't taken anything off my card. 2nd off, the contract she is referring to that I had my models sign was just a formality to ensure that the models were serious and would hold their ends of the bargain. Any1 with a lick of common sense would know it would be a waste of time AND WOULD COST MORE MONEY to take anyone to court over a few hundred dollars. SERIOUSLY???? Thirdly, how in the world can you refuse to "continue doing business" w/ someone when you've already taken their money?Till this day she has my money & MY BUNDLES so I am still out of hundreds 4 a service I never received. read more

Located conveniently on E Main St with plenty of parking, this Salon Lofts also provides many beauty and body services under one roof. The only slightly negative point with any Salon Lofts is you need to know who you are visiting because there is no receptionist to guide you around. However, if you are getting your hair styled at one place and want to get your nails done afterward, for example, your hair stylist will be able to recommend someone for you. They all seem to know each other fairly well. Though this location is slightly out of the way for me, I'll be back. read more

The Salon Loft concept is different than other salons but very cool. I did know the stylist, Genna Cater before I came in but I think you could find a great sylist if you're open to trying someone new. There are about 15-ish stylist at this location and many accept walk-ins, but I love Genna. She listens and does exactly what you ask for. She is great and reasonably priced.
