One star is too much. I had an appointment at 5:30pm with Mandy. I arrived a few minutes early and texted that I was there. No response. I texted again a few minutes later,no response. I waited for 20 minutes in the parking lot for a response and nothing. I got stood up. I left after 25 minutes. Later I text her to see what happened. No response. Finally,later that evening she responded and tried to tell me she texted and called me. Nooooooooo! I sent her proof that I texted her. I should charge Her for being a no call no show! ODDEST walkin arrangement ever. There is No receptionist, or desk for one. All of the styling stations are in closed little rooms with glass doors. The front window sign says "WalkIns Welcome", but- You have to walk through the hallway and knock on every door where someone is working, wait for them to stop working, peer out the door and then ask them if they have time to do a haircut! As much as it probably pains the hairstylists of Columbus, I'm not a loyal customer. I am pretty trusting with my hair, so if I need a cut and you're available/in my price range - sign me up! That being said, the past few times I've needed a cut the same stylist at the Grandview location has been available, so I keep coming back. Salon Lofts is a great place that really caters to all types of clientele. I think it's really cool that independent stylists can rent a nice & professional space and still be able to do their thing. I've been to the German Village location, which I don't dig as much as Grandview for ease of parking and overall convenience. Their website is pretty awesome. You can view stylists, their areas of expertise, read testimonials, see their availability and schedule online. When you do, you can sign up for reminder emails and/or texts so you're sure not to forget your appointment. Prices are listed very clearly so you don't have to be worried about any hidden costs. The only thing I wish the website would do is allow you to search by time and see all stylists who are available. Since I'm usually a last-minute scheduler, I have to search each stylist's calendar separately, which can be kind of time-consuming. Grace Yagi at the Grandview location, is the WORST nail tech I have ever used. She rushes you in and out (Does gel mani/Sakura pedi in 1 hour), pesters you to make your next appt, and does extremely poor job on both services (Did not remove dead/dry skin from feet, did not trim cuticles, gel polish chipped and lifted within 4 days, her work was very sloppy and polish seeped under skin and looked awful when it grew out). Specifically for Brienna Weldon, the most out-going, sweetest, real, and charismatic master colorist and stylist Columbus has to offer. Brienna is AMAZING at what she does, I have been to many salons that have completely butchered my hair or would take on tasks when their expertise could not deliver. I have thick, dark, Asian hair and she was able to lighten it so much. I wanted to go ashy gray and she explained the process, listened to me, worked her magic, and now I cannot wait until my next appointment to keep going lighter. If you've never been to a Salon Lofts, their concept is to have each artist be their own boss, set their own prices, decorate their own loft, have their own product, it's a full experience and very personable. it WILL take time for you to find your ultimate fave, but i PROMISE you, Brienna is exactly what you're looking for if you're wanting a fun and talkative hair stylist. her work is amazing, does all types of colors and bayalages, cuts are awesome, and will do whatever she can to accommodate your schedule. can't explain how pleased i am with her service. read more

I asked for really pretty highlights that blended with my roots and i had brown hair with two blue strands in the front. He couldn't even get the blue out and i showed him a picture of what i wanted and didn't even get close to that. he bleached the bottom of my hair, left in the blue, and didn't even blend it with my roots. it looks so choppy in the front and overall is just a horrible look. i'd be better off doing this at home with box dye. read more

I bought a Groupon for $57 from Julia Horne. She accidentally redeemed my Groupon on another customer, so she texted me and assured me I would still be able to use it and that it was her mistake. I scheduled another appointment, and two hours before my appointment, my truck broke down on 270. She said I could reschedule. I went on vacation to Florida, came back and rescheduled. I missed that appointment because I forgot. I apologized to Julia. She never responded. When I tried to reschedule the appointment, she again ignored my texts and refused to communicate with me....even though I had already paid her via Groupon. After a Groupon expires, you are allowed to use the money you spent towards a service at full price, but Julia would not answer my texts to even allow me to do that. This not how you treat customers, especially when you made a mistake first and were treated fairly. Got a refund from Groupon today. read more

First time going to this salon lofts location. I had an appt with Joseph camp. I booked for partial highlights which said it was $65. He highlighted my hair and toned it and it was an orange and brassy color. So I asked him if he could fix it , he said yes. He toned again and it was and still is very orange and the highlights don't even match the blonde I already have in my hair. He then told me the price is $120, since he had to tone twice. I told him the only reason he had to tone twice was because it didn't come out correctly this first time, or even the second time, so I should not have to pay for his error. my hair still has orange streaks throughout it. He said he didn't know I wanted my roots to match the rest of my hair, which I don't see why anyone would want one color at their roots and another on the bottom half, and that my hair was already "over processed and jacked up" even though the roots had never even been colored, so they obviously weren't processed at all. terrible experience. Wouldn't recommend him to ANYONE ! I Can't believe I had to pay for the additional toning Bc he didn't sucessfully do it the first time. read more

I like this concept a lot. The website is fantastic, with reviews and an easy to use scheduling tool. Plus, the recent Groupon finally gave me a push to try out a new stylist and I am glad I did. The color looks amazing and the cut is exactly what I wanted. I will definitely be visiting Kelly Houser again. I cannot speak for the other styles at Salon Lofts in Grandview. But I'm new in town and decided to try Holly Judah. All I wanted was a basic trim and I have poker straight hair, so my hair is not that difficult to cut. Honestly, its the worst hair cut I've ever had! I understand it was late (9:30 pm) and I book my appt that day, but dont have an opening that late if your going to do terrible work. Not only was she rough and slapped the brush around the top of my head when she was drying it, she DID NOT check her hair cut and the right side of my hair is SHORTER than the left side. Even my boyfriend, who could care less about my hair, noticed that the lengths did not match up. I would not recommend her to anyone. read more

holly judah is awesome. i dont easily find people who cut my hair and i am completely happy with the results, i am very picky. that said, holly had never cut my hair before and i was looking to do a major change - an undercut with long layers for the rest of my hair. holly was so friendly and totally put me at ease and did an super job. its exactly what i wanted and i will definitely go back to her in the future, something that has not happened in the 10 years i've lived in Columbus. read more

Warning to anyone booking with Salon Lofts. DO NOT book with Erika Hickman. The first time I booked with her she pushed back my appointment the day of, this was annoying but I figured a one time thing. I thought she did a decent job on my hair so I booked again a few months later. This time she cancelled my appointment a few hours before and asked if I could re-schedule at a different date and time that she suggested. This day/time was less convenient for me but I agreed since I figured it was too late to get in with someone else. Unfortunately, she had the nerve to cancel this new appointment 30 minutes before it was scheduled. I had re-arranged my schedule for this appointment. I have never met anyone who shows this little of respect for their clients' time and schedule. I will never book with her again and will probably never book with Salon Lofts again because they allow hairdressers like this to work for them. If you wish to book with SL, go ahead but for your own sake and sanity I strongly suggest you do not book with Erika Hickman. read more
