It was my first time trying this place today and called ahead to schedule an appointment at 2:30 pm for a haircut. I arrived at the salon 10 minutes early at 2:20 pm and the lady at the front desk greeted me and was nice. The place looked clean and spacious. I did notice that some of the staff and customers were not wearing masks but I did not mind. The only negative thing I can say was that I had to wait 20 minutes and did not get to see the stylist til around 2:50 pm, but I can understand that they probably had to sanitize and clean everything for the next customer. The stylist I had was Amanda and she was amazing and did a fantastic job with my haircut and was able to fulfill all the requests I made about the style of haircut that I wanted. I also love the fact that she really took her time and polished my haircut to perfection. Overall, I am very satisfied with her work and would gladly come back again for her business. After the haircut was done I was caught off guard with how I had to pay through cellphone if I choose card instead of cash and I was not able to tip her at the time. Later on when I got home I called the salon again because I felt bad that I couldn't leave a tip because I didn't read the prompts properly on her phone but later she called me back and I managed to finally give her a proper tip through venmo. I will definitely come back again to this place for my next haircut if it's still open for business the next time. read more

I have been going to Nontina for years to do my hair. And I now have dreads and I wanted her to make them two-tone. We had to bleach out part of each dread that was supposed to become silver and then the bottom was supposed to be bright red. This cost me $400. She did tell me that we might have to bleach it out twice which was fine but after sending me home that day (an hour away) with it not being finished, she later told me it was going to be another $220 to finish bleaching it out and put silver color in. And the red that she put in came out completely within two months. And I have red hair so it shouldn't have faded like this. I've never had my red color fade like this. She told me she used a semi permanent on me when I was there and then when I questioned her about all this she said she used a permanent which is obviously not the case. When I questioned her about it she refused to fix it and basically cut me off from contact. So she left me with a half bleached head and some crappy brownish ends. Also she was in a hurry and colored some of my Dreads that I didn't want touched, which we had a lengthy conversation about prior to her doing any color and then she missed a lot of spots to color. For $400 I should have absolutely gotten what I asked for. And it only took her 2 hours. Who in the world would pay $600 to get their hair done like this? That is absolutely absurd! The pic I included is how badly the red faded and you can see the bleached top. It looks awful. It's very unprofessional of her to not do something to make this right. I could've done this to myself for about $20 OOHHH AND WATCH OUT FOR THE CHAIRS!!! The footrest is literally just a bar that sticks out and one of the clients tripped over it getting out of her chair, fell on the ground and broke her femur! read more

I wasn't going to say anything from my first appt a couple weeks ago because ultimately my color was good but it took 5 hours for a job that is usually done in 3 hrs. Moreover, today, my son had an appt scheduled, I specifically said a perm appt and they put us down for today in the afternoon to ensure the correct person was there to do it. Come to find out they only had him scheduled for a hair cut and then said their perm machines aren't working either. Oh and they don't have the name of the staff who scheduled incorrectly. Sure, the front lady was apologetic but doesn't take away from the ridiculousness of mismanaging appts and for sure doesn't make up for my time, wasted twice now. Well... gave this place a try, I scheduled a service to be called 10 minutes later saying that two people booked the same appointment with the same person so they needed to reschedule mine. Nobody told me who was going to do my hair because I scheduled my appointment based on the profiles of the hairstylist I thought were best. Then I get to the shop to have my gray roots covered, a haircut and dry, paid almost $260 not to mention the dye that was on my clothes leaving the salon. I wasn't going to post a review but I feel it's important for customers to know what they're in for. Before cutting my hair it was a few inches past my shoulders and I was ready to cut it and try something new after contemplating it for weeks. Emily Ward was nice and sweet so I decided to give her a shot. She rinsed my hair, skipping the shampoo and conditioning, which was fine bcuz I was sort of in a rush. The entire time she's cutting my hair she's panicking. Why? I did not know at the time. The end result and what I was left with was bulky and blunt ends, It looked like I grabbed a pair of scissors and chopped it myself. I'm a pretty low maintenance and laid back so for me to react this way means it REALLY was that bad. How could someone eff up so bad, especially if they're licensed. This I didn't understand. In the end, not only am I out 60 bucks and having to get it fixed for another 50 from somewhere else, I'm being forced to go shorter than I planned. This part really sucks. Im wearing a beanie everywhere I go hiding my hair underneath, which I shouldn't have to do. This is the worse haircut I have ever received. No exaggeration. This was something I would expect from a Great Clips or Fantastic Sams, not Salon O. Emily needs to do some further educating before touching people's hair and charging ridiculous rates for her work. Or plain and simple, refuse clients if she doesn't feel comfortable performing the service. read more

I had Jaisi do my hair. She told me she knew how to do Balayage. I believed her. I went to get my hair done after two years this is virgin hair. The ends of my hair were the only bleached areas from before. I don't know how anyone would call this balayage. I was cordial when I spoke to the manager. The manger insisted the picture that I was using as an example for how I wanted my hair to look like is what Jaisi had achieved. She said the wall is white in the picture and a lot of other excuses. I made sure to come home and take my picture in front of a white wall as well. I feel conned. I paid $315 to destroy my hair after two years. I told Jaisi I will be writing a review. She took her own pictures too. She told me I still had to pay. It's unfortunate that she was so money hungry with the salon. This wasn't about money. This was about not completing the job that she insisted she new how to do. Steer away from Salon O. This is a a salon that DOES Not hold their STYLIST accountable, if anything they'll lie to your face that you are color blind. This review isn't to bash anyone. I am writing this to make sure what happened to me doesn't happen to you. : (. P.S. Jaise has terrible customer service skills: and she kept making faces as if she had her hair destroyed after waiting two years to get it done. She then tells me 'you have to pay I invested four hours" this is her skill of investing four hours on my hair. I have attached picture of what I wanted and my own hair. I showed pictures of what I wished, she let me know my underneath was to dark right now and could damage my hair to do what I wished, but she could do a combo of what I was looking for. I have only been going to and will continue to only see Emmy Ward! Not only does she do an amazing job on my hair and my two toddler boys hair but she is also very knowledgeable. I have health problems which have caused my hair to fall out (among other weird things) and Emmy always knows how to face the challenges my hair brings. She's very educated and well skilled! I wanted purple hair and she knew exactly what to do/use and also what not use so that the rest of my hair didn't fall out, become brittle or even come out a different color (yep that's possible).
